Explanation of Pat Ludwa's VIEW FROM THE PEW column
INTRODUCTION
Pat Ludwa, a committed lay Catholic from Cleveland, has been asked to contribute, on a regular basis, a lay person's point of view on the Church today. We have been impressed with his insight and the clear logic he brings to the table from his "view from the pew." In all humility, by his own admission, he feels he has very little to offer, but we're sure you'll agree with us that his viewpoint is exactly what millions of the silent majority of Catholics believe and have been trying to say as well. Pat puts it in words that help all of us better understand and convey to others what the Church teaches and we must believe.
In this issue, Pat bemoans the attitude adopted by so many in society today that we must accept immoral behavior because it is inevitable. This idea of 'you can't fight city hall' ranges from promotion of homosexuality to promiscuity to all walks of life. This poisoning lessens their responsibilities in favor of the easy way, in favor of avoiding the headaches and burdens that come with standing up for right. It's the herd mentality. But, as Pat points out, just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it right. Cardinal John J. O'Connor said, "Bad morality is bad medicine" and yet political correctness has been prescribing deadly 'cures' while ignoring the consequences and mortal side effects. Like their mentor satan, they don't want to hear that their diagnosis and treatment is wrong. Rather than correcting the prognosis, they go to greater lengths to denigrate the source of wisdom and one voice still left to uphold morality and right: The Church. In their efforts to destroy the Church, they not only expose their own evil agenda, but confuse countless young minds caught in their vice-grip of hate and despair. Lucifer's legions are poisoning our youth and we must all speak out before it's too late. This is the gist of his column, Weep for the children
