This edition covers the three Rogation Days when we offer supplication to Heaven and show our sincerity in penitential procession in praying the Litany of the Saints. On Rogation Wednesday, the feast of the holy Cardinal and Doctor of the Church St. Robert Bellarmine, we observe the 98th Anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady of Fatima when she appeared to the three peasant children at the Cova. We are only two years away from the centennial, and it should awaken all to the urgency of the Blessed Virgin Mary's request to pray her Holy Rosary for, outside of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Rosary is the most powerful prayer we can offer to Heaven. Thursday, of course, is the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into Heaven after 40 days following His Resurrection. We remain in the time of Paschaltide through the Vigil of Pentecost which completes the nine-day Novena to the Holy Ghost, which is the oldest approved novena by holy Mother Church.
For Mary's month of May we continue with the devotional impetus, each day presenting a salutary ejaculation of Mary's distinctive titles from the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary as we also offer Mary a different flower each day so that at the end of the month on the feast of the Queenship of Mary (this year on June 1 since Trinity Sunday falls on May 31) we can present her a full bouquet of beautiful flowers that represent our prayers and daily Rosaries. We know that bouquet will not wilt but remain fresh as ever in God's eyes. Also throughout this month we link the 34-Day Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary according to the method composed by St. Louis-Marie de Montfort with days 13 through 26 in this Ascension edition. In that vein, Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI presents a 13-minute audio sermon on True Devotion to Mary. In addition, we remind you of the beautiful daily prayer of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Finally, as always, to keep abreast of events, their causes and consequences, and inspiration from other ports, we confidently recommend NovusOrdoWatch.org and Christorchaos.com for articles and links, as well as four blogs worth your while, Introibo Ad Altare Dei, Bishop Donald Sanborn's In Veritate, Fr. Cekada's Quidlibet, and the satirical, but on-point Call Me Jorge.

On this Fifth Sunday After Easter, the liturgy continues to sing the risen Christ and exhorts us, during the Rogation Days that follow this week, to unite with Holy Mother the Church in prayer. Delivered from sin by the efficacy of His blood (Introit, Alleluia, Communion), we are bound to hearken and practise the perfect law of liberty contained in His Gospel. To this end, let us ask of God, from Whom all good things come (Collect), that by the merits of the Redeemer (Gospel) we may be given the grace to participate in the new life opened up for us by Jesus and freely given by the Heavenly Father. ...More
There is a commemoration at Low Masses for the holy Bishop and Confessor St. Antoninus who entered the Dominican Order in his sixteenth year. In 1446 he was compelled to accept the archbishopric of Florence. When the false Renaissance was beginning to give a tone of classical paganism to society he set an example of fervent pastoral zeal, joined with the love of study and of the most austere virtues of the cloister. He died in 1459.
There is also a commemoration in the Collect, Secret and Postcommunion for
Sts. Gordian and Epimachus, Martyrs. Under Pope Adrian I the bodies of these two martyrs were placed in the same tomb. Gordian was a Roman judge converted by a holy priest who was brought before him for trial under Julian the Apostate. St. Epimachus was an Alexandrian martyr who at first had a separate mass in the Liturgy.

In the Haydock Commentary for the Fifth Sunday after Easter from Father George Leo Haydock found in many Douay-Rheims version of the New Testament and provided here by John Gregory, we see in the Epistle by St. James only the penitent man who heeds God's law and will shall not fear. For God knows a man's heart. One can never hide from God and it's important to realize that as great as the Corporal Works of Mercy might be, they are hollow if the Spiritual Works of Mercy are not applied. To work out one's salvation in fear and trembling, one cannot be passive, but rather active for the good of souls as God so wills and in the Gospel our Lord reaffirms His divinity in His discourse with His apostles in reminding them that He must return to the Father Who sent Him. But He encourages them that they shall know great joy and anything they ask of the Father in Christ's name, it will be granted. Quite a promise that has been fulfilled ever since to all who comply with all He asks. Through Christ our Lord
Traditional Catholic Sermons provides the opportunity to to bring you a sermon of almost thirteen minutes by Fr. Anthony Cekada for the Fifth Sunday after Easter from back in 2009 as he reminds all of the Lesser Litanies during the upcoming Rogation Days. In praising God, Father speaks of the official liturgical prayer of the Church in sharing why and what it is. That would be the prayer every true priest must pray daily and now, through the worldwide web, it is available to laity to pray if they so wish. The prayer is The Divine Office

Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today we honor her as Queen of Apostles in recognizing the feast of Sts. Philip and James the Lesser, a feast established by Pope Pius XII transferred from May 1. In many traditional chapels where they still observe May 1 as the feast of these two Apostles, today is recognized as a ferial day. Whichever, all are encouraged to pray daily the Holy Rosary and the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

On this 97th Anniversary of the First Apparition at
Fatima we celebrate the feast of St. Robert Bellarmine, of whom Pope Clement VIII said: "The Church of God had not his equal in learning," was born in 1542 at Montepulciano and died in 1621. He entered the Society of Jesus, was made a Cardinal and distinguished himself by his teaching, preaching, writing and defense of the rights of the Church. During St. Aloysius' last years, St. Robert was his spiritual director. He was beatified in 1923, canonized and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1931 by Pope Pius XI. He is the patron of catechetical instruction, and members of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine may gain a plenary indulgence on his feast day under the usual conditions. See Mass of "In medio Ecclesiae"
This wise Doctor of the Church was an Italian born on the feast of the founder of the Franciscans, but trained as a Jesuit who upheld the ideals of the Society as its founders had established. He was an extremely sharp polemist who was not afraid to take on the most vitrolic Protestant theologians and, because this master apologist never wavered from Catholic truth, he always won out in perpetuating the Counter Reformation of Trent. His fame, humility and sense of the Sensus Catholicus won back countless souls who had wavered during the Reformation. But his wisdom was not employed only on the sheep, but the shepherds as well - the chief shepherds - for he was Theologian and Spiritual Counselor to no less than five Popes. For more, see Theologian of the Roman Pontiffs and Trent

On this 98th Anniversary of the first apparition at Fatima in 1917 it's wise to realize the causes of why the Mother of God appeared to the three visionaries when she did and why the world is in such dire straits today because few listened and responded. When will we realize Our Lady had the cure for what ails civilization, but few still do not listen. Below is the only answer for salvation.

Station at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Forty days after the Resurrection, Our Lord Jesus Christ, attended by Angels, ascended into Heaven, in the sight of His most holy Mother Mary, His Apostles, and disciples, to the great wonder of them all. He entered into possession of the Kingdom of Heaven which He had gained by His sufferings, and St. Paul declares that God "hath made us sit together in the heavenly places, through Christ Jesus." "There where the Head has gone, the Body is called to follow!" The liturgical festival of the Ascension, whilst less ancient than that of Pentecost, is one of the oldest of the cycle, was already so universally observed that St. Augustine was able to attribute its institution to the Apostles themselves. At Rome, the Pope, after the night Office was concluded, and after Mass had been celebrated at the altar of St. Peter, was crowned by the cardinals, and towards the sixth hour was accompanied by bishops and clergy to the Lateran.
On this day Jesus was taken up into Heaven; His faithful disciples continued to gaze heavenward. The contemplative vision of Paradise is reserved, however, for those who have already passed into the Church Triumphant. The supreme glorification of the Head who is this day enthroned at the right hand of the Father in Heaven affects the members also, like the precious balsam which, as the psalmist tells us, descended from the head of Aaron on to his flowing beard and on to his gorgeous pontifical vestments. This spiritual unction is the gift of the Holy Ghost, which Christ obtains ...More

In the Haydock Commentary for the Solemnity of the Ascension the Epistle and Gospel comprise the first words of the Acts of the Apostles and the last words of St. Mark all treated with the cogent comprehensive Haydock Catholic Commentary provided by John Gregory. The Lord has completed His work on earth. He has entrusted to His hand-chosen band of disciples, hardly saints at the time of His Ascension, His Spirit - the Holy Ghost. Within days they will be transformed and given the grace, gifts and fruits to carry out His command in St. Mark to preach the gospel to every creature and to assure them that if they believe and are baptized they will be saved. He leaves the dire warning so ignored today, that if they do not they will be condemned. Stronger words Christ did not speak. The sad fact is that so few have heeded His failsafe words. Failsafe Words
Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph's Minor Seminary in Rathdrum, Idaho at the City of Mary presents a short six and a half minute sermon recorded three years ago and made available through Traditional Catholic Sermons for the First Class Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord. Father talks of how so many don't realize how foolish they are who do focus on preparing for eternity. We should concentrate not on this life as much as the next. Eschew the honors and praise of the world, and seek a greater reward in Heaven for we are what we are in the eyes of God, not man. Father explains in his sermon on The Ascension .

Forty days after rising from the dead, the Son of God returns to the Father as He said He would, but He has promised His Spirit would be with His disciples until the consummation of the world. That assurance we have in ten days when we celebrate the birthday of His Holy Church on Pentecost. Today we celebrate His glorious Ascension into Heaven where He remains until He returns as He promised. When that will be no one knows, but He has given us the signs that the time is near from His discourse in the Gospel of St. Matthew and indeed much of what He foretold has come to pass including the "abomination of desolation" which we can clearly see is the abominable Novus Ordo 'missae', which is also in lockstep with the New World Order ( novus ordo seclorum) that will adopt satan as their leader once all are under his control. No wonder Jesus said aloud His curiosity of whether there will be any faith left when the Son of man returns in St. Luke 18: 8. Food for thought as we celebrate this Holy Day of Obligation where, following the Gospel, the Paschal candle is extinguished and then removed. We encourage you to read Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's inspiring piece for this Solemnity with Baptize All Men, Teach All Nations
John Gregory provides inspiration for the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven in a meditation of the Second Glorious Mystery. The Son of God has gone to prepare a place for us, and thus the effects of the Ascension remain an on-going mystery for Christ continues to prepare for us at the Father's right hand and in that wondrous news is extended the greatest hope to all for where Christ has gone He waits for us to follow in a place of everlasting happiness for those who are obedient to His teachings and cooperate with the divine Will. Just as Jesus left instructions for His Apostles, He has left us inerrant instructions that, if we follow fully, will assure us of being with Him forever. John provides reflections on The Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today we want to acknowledge her as the title above says - "most amiable" for after all who would be so patient as our loving Blessed Mother. Should we not repay her by doing as she asks and daily take up the beads to pray her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.
For the fourteenth day of May, the flower offered to our Blessed Mother is the PASSION FLOWER with the corresponding Virtue being SACRIFICE. The greatest Sacrifice was the Passion of our Lord which was the greatest Sacrifice that resulted in the blossoming of souls through salvation for all who followed Christ's teachings/ On this day let us remember also the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - same Sacrifice as that of the cross, for the victim is one and the same, namely, Christ our Lord, Who offered Himself, once only, a bloody Sacrifice on the altar of the cross. The bloody and unbloody victim are not two, but one Victim only, Whose Sacrifice is daily renewed in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass when the bread and wine are confected into the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. This continual Sacrifice is carried on in obedience to the command of our Lord: "Haec quotiescumque feceritis, in Mei memoriam facietis." - As often as ye do these things, ye shall do them in remembrance of Me." There is no bouquet more pleasing to His Blessed Mother than worthily assisting at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass where our souls should open wide like the Passion Flower to embrace our crosses sent so lovingly by the Almighty. Carrying our cross daily is what Sacrifice is all about so that grace will flower forth, so abundant in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

St. John Baptist de la Salle was canonized by Pope Leo XIII, who also extended the observance of his feast to the Universal Church. His place in ecclesiastical history is chiefly important from the social point of view. since at least two centuries before world changes rendered necessary the education of the masses, and before technical schools had gained for themselves the all-important place in the training of the young which had up till then been held exclusively by classical teaching, God gave him an intuition of this need as though by a prophetic

Today we begin the oldest novena of the Church, the Novena to the Holy Ghost and if ever we needed the Advocate's help it is now in 2015 when souls and hearts have hardened and grown lukewarm in their comfort zones, which surely can't be pleasing to the Sanctifier. In the face of this ennui to the spiritual crisis that has caused so much destruction to body and soul since the death of the last true Pope on October 9, 1958, we ask when will we wake up from this free fall and grab the parachute God offers? If only we would reach out and make the effort to save not only our own souls but those of our fellow man, we'd see a tremendous change in attitude and conversions. It is what Christ commands us to do and that command begins with the only ones who have the jurisdiction and authority to provide the true sacraments to souls - the traditional bishops who hold the key to returning sanity and sanctity. Let us pray the Holy Ghost will touch them and move them to set aside their petty differences and be the apostles we need them to be, that God needs them to be. Let us dedicate this nine day Novena to our true shepherds with the First Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on the feast of St. John Baptist de la Salle, we honor Mary with the title of Virgin most prudent for that is the theme of the epistle today as we continue during this time within the Octave of the Ascension and strive to say daily Our Lady's Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.
For the fifteenth day - the Ides of May - the flower offered to our Blessed Mother is the whispy MIMOSA with the corresponding Virtue being GENEROSITY. God loves a generous heart and one, who loves God and seeks to do His holy Will at all times, cannot help but be generous in all things, illustrated in the stamen of the Mimosa flower, fanning out in ray-like fashion to receive the graces God grants to those who are open to them and practice the cardinal virtues as well as the various virtues illustrated in this, Mary's special month for she is the Queen of the May. It is only natural that everyone would want to be generous to the Queen for that brings great favor from the King, Who is, of course, her divine Son Jesus Christ, to Whom we owe all allegiance, all fidelity, all our love and generosity. Let us pray the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Mass of the Blessed Virgin shows us Mary as Mother of our Savior. There is a commemoration today of
Saint Ubaldus, Bishop of Gubbio in Central Italy, who died at his post in 1160, after great devotion to his flock. He was blessed with such a reputation for sanctity that he was canonized in less than thirty years after his death. He is remembered for his great power over the evil spirits.

Fear of the Lord seems to be forgotten in so many today who go about their lives without fearing what the Lord will do because of their hardened hearts and devil-may-care attitude that they can do whatever they want. Oh, will they be surprised. Let us pray it will not be too late when they realize the devil doesn't care because he already has them in his grip, but God does and if they do not develop a Holy Fear they will when they stand before their Judge and hear their sentence. Talk about fear! That is why to be truly Catholic one must fear the Lord not for the punishments He may dole to those who do not follow His divine will, but for fear of offending Him. That is where love comes into play for if we truly love God, we will care how He feels and do everything we can to alleviate the wrath of the Almighty Whose cup by now is running over with the offenses against Him and His Natural Laws. Let us pray the Holy Ghost will soften the hardened hearts, warm the cold dones, and bring them to the realization of how having a Holy Fear is a true gift of the Holy Ghost as we pray the Second Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost

In the Haydock Commentary provided by John Gregory for the Sunday after the Ascension, what is pointed out is that in all things Christ must be honored and defended even if it means being persecuted for believing in Him. Our Lord conveys these final words to His disciples, foretelling of a time when the Jews and unbelievers would greatly harass and even kill them. Every apostle except for St. John suffered martyrdom. When Jesus speaks of His followers "being put out of the synagogues" what do you think they'd have to say about Mr. Bergolio the unFrancis' schmoozing and giving credence to Caiaphas and all the faithless Jews since who persist in their error? What does he do just as his predecessors did but not only participate, thus publicly giving scandal through his persistent heresy, but proclaims that the Jews do not need to be converted. But then what's new? Proselytizing has gone the way of the dodo bird in the CONciLIAR church. In fact, these apostate 'popes' have done it so much that few recognize the apostasy in their midst. "They have not known the Father, nor Me"
Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI, Rector of St. Joseph's Minor Seminary in Rathdrum, Idaho at the City of Mary presents an eleven-minute sermon recorded for Traditional Catholic Sermons for the Sunday after the Ascension in which Father reminds us of Christ's promise to send the Advocate, the Sanctifier and all we need do is ask and desire to remain in the state of Sanctifying Grace. We see in the Gospel that there will be a time when we will be persecuted for proclaiming Christ and good will be called evil. Talk about those times, just look around. But if we stay close to the Third Person of the Holy Trinity we can be assured of success. Father points out why the Novena is important in his sermon Come, Holy Ghost

Piety is the Gift of the Holy Ghost highlighted today and it gives one to pause and consider that if more people had piety there would be less wars, less hate, less animosity towards our fellow man and many, many more converts for man would, just through his piety, respect all that God has created. There'd be no need for ecological matters, politicians, even lawyers. Man would be in harmony with the will of God, but then who are we kidding. Few even respect the virtue of piety let alone ask it of the Sanctifier. That is one reason why our world is in such turmoil today because of the chaos in the world for the devil steers man away from humility and consequently away from God. That is why piety is so pertinent in loving God and respecting all He has deigned for the welfare of man's salvation as we see in the Third Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today on this feast of the holy and humble Franciscan lay brother St. Pascal Baylon we honor Mary as Seat of Wisdom for she always imparts wisdom to her children if only we would take her wise advice. What could be more wise than to do as she asks and pray often, if not daily, her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

Saint Venantius was born in Camerino, Italy during the persecution of the cruel Roman Emperor Decius At the tender age of fifteen years Venantius became a Christian, preaching Christ to others. His history is one of the most miraculous in the annals of the early martyrs.
Having learned that he was about to be arrested, he presented himself to the governor of Camerino, Antiochus, at the city gates, and said to him that the lives of the gods were filled with every kind of crime, that there was only one God, whose unique Son had become a man to deliver his fellow humans from the tyranny of sin. When it was found impossible to shake his constancy either by threats or promises, he was condemned to be scourged, but was miraculously saved by an Angel. He was then burnt with torches and suspended over a low fire that he might be suffocated by the smoke.
The judge's secretary, while admiring the steadfastness of the Saint, saw an Angel robed in white, who stamped out the fire and again set free the youthful martyr. This man proclaimed his faith in Christ and was baptized with his whole family. Shortly afterwards he won the martyr's crown.
Venantius was summoned to appear before Antiochus. Unable to make him renounce his faith, the governor cast

Fortitude is the Gift of the Holy Ghost highlighted today and it is through perseverance that we can realize our heavenly reward, but only in striving to do God's holy will in all things. Fortitude fortifies us not to worry about what will happen to our physical well being or material things and never to put merit into the approval of man but always in the approval of the Holy Trinity for that is all that really counts. All the rest don't amount to a hill of beans. Yet to sustain ourselves we need beans and other nourishment so that we can physically carry out whatever mission God appoints for each person's spiritual welfare. Fortitude enables us to accept our crosses and whatever sufferings God chooses for His children and not to question. That isn't easy. That is why the Gift of Fortitude is so vital. Fourth Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost

Saint Peter Celestine was the eleventh of the twelve children of a poor Italian farmer. As a child, Peter had visions of our Blessed Lady, Angels and Saints. His heavenly visitors encouraged him in his prayers and chided him when he fell into any fault. His mother, though only a poor widow, sent him to school, feeling sure that he would one day be a Saint.
At the age of twenty, he left his home in Apulia to live in a mountain solitude. Here he passed three years, assaulted by the evil spirits and beset with temptations of the flesh, but consoled by the visits of Angels. After this his seclusion was invaded by disciples who refused to be sent away; and the rule of life which he gave them formed the foundation of the Celestines, a branch of the Order of Saint Benedict. Angels assisted in the church which Peter built; unseen bells rang peals of surpassing ...More

For the nineteenth day of May the flower offered to Our Lady for Queen of the May is the rugged HAWTHORN with the corresponding Virtue being MORTIFICATION. This is appropriate for mortification takes being able to withstand pain and pleasure. The red-fruited Hawthorn consisting of dense corymbs of pink-red flowers has stems and leaves which are densely covered with short wooly hairs and must bear up under cold and windy conditions. That is why it is found in evergreen country and the mountains where conditions are rough for a lot of wind helps the weather-worn Hawthorn to bloom. How fitting that this coincides with the feast of Pope Saint Celestine V today for this holy monk before being elected, spent time in mortification among the Hawthorn flowers. He realized that mortification helps to toughen us in the face of temptation and the life of ease, allowing grace to blossom forth the aromatic myrrh of the Hawthorn. In fact, when elected the Catholic Encyclopedia says "unseen bells rang peals of surpassing sweetness." And speaking of sweetness, we encourage you during Mary's month to pray the Devotion of The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary

At this season of the year, when Jesus by His triumph has realized His name of Saviour, the Cycle celebrates the Feast of St. Bernardine who was consumed "by the very ardent love of this divine name" (Collect).
Born of a noble family of Siena, St. Bernardine renounced all his possessions. He kept his chastity intact, in spite of the dangers to which his handsome features exposed him. The Church applies to him the words of Holy Scripture: "He had it in his power to violate the commandment of God, and he did not violate it" (Epistle). "Not placing his hope in money and treasures" (Ibid.) he left all, to follow Christ (Gospel), and entered the Order of St. Francis, one of whose glories he is. Traveling through towns and villages, everywhere he preached the name of Jesus (Collect) and thereby wrought many miracles.
St. Peter Celestine appeared to him to warn him of his approaching end which came on Ascension Eve, in 1444. ...More

Understanding is the Gift of the Holy Ghost highlighted today. Just as one would require the Gift of Knowledge as we showed yesterday, so one would want the Gift of Understanding to comprehend how the robber barons have infiltrated and usurped holy Mother Church; how the whore of Babylon tries to take the place of the Mystical Bride. It cannot last for through Understanding we know God will not allow it to continue and we realize that the Church, being the Mystical Bride of Christ, cannot err. Since those who pose as leaders of a church called 'Catholic' have erred and done so grievously and quite possibly intentionally, we know it is not Catholic. Through the Gift of Understanding we know why and we know what is truly Catholic and flee from anything that is not. Through the Gift of Understanding we can comprehend true teaching and alert others to beware of the wolves among the sheep and why the sheep have scattered for the hirelings care not for souls. This has been proven over the past fifty years and counting. The Gift of Understanding will enable us to know how to combat this apostasy in being faithful to Christ and His Church. Sixth Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, on this feast of the holy confessor St. Bernardine of Siena, we honor Our Lady as Mystical Rose so fair and renew our pledge to pray daily her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

It follows Knowledge and Understanding in a natural progression of applying those two attributes to be able to convey common sense in full accord with the divine Will in whatever we do in life while always remembering to take our God-given role of passing on the truths of the Faith to others seriously. We will be held accountable before the eternal Judge for how we conducted our lives and Counsel helps us as a moral compass, so to speak, in navigating through life. It truly is a Gift we should all strive for, especially Traditional Catholics who have such a massive mission to enlighten those plunged in the darkness of the conciliar church and worldly values.Seventh Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May we honor the Blessed Mother as Mystical Rose as we continue to celebrate Paschaltide and look to the Blessed Virgin for as we honor her by renewing our pledge to pray daily her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.
For more on the Total Consecration, listen to a sermon by Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI on the holy, devout servant of Mary St. Louis de Montfort, and how we can also be devoted slaves of Our Lady with St. Louis de Montfort and True Devotion

Before ascending into Heaven, Jesus promised at the Last Supper not to leave us all alone, but that He would send us the Paraclete (Alleluia, Gospel), so that We might honor God in all things through Jesus Christ (Epistle).
Like the Apostles gathered together in the Cenacle, awaiting in prayer and meditation the descent of the Holy Ghost, let us prepare in prayer and charity(Epistle) for the holy day of Pentecost.

Wisdom is the Gift of the Holy Ghost highlighted today. It follows Knowledge, Understanding, and Counsel in the line of combining mind and soul. This Novena is the oldest in the Church and it was with great wisdom that it was established as a devotion for all Catholics. The Gift of Wisdom enhances all the virtues and in these dire, dark times we all need to strengthen our faith against the wiles of the principalities of perdition. We need hope to forge on and persevere so that we will keep the faith, and, though charity towards others has been twisted to mean entitlement or redistribution among a generation who feel they are owed and this is mistakenly taken as charity, true charity requires the wisdom of giving because Christ asks us to give out of love for Him, not out of guilt or because we're pressured. With these Gifts of the Holy Ghost we are able to more clearly see the narrow path - the wise path - that alone leads to eternal life by turning our back on the world, the flesh and the devil.Eighth Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today we look to the Blessed Virgin for her guidance as we honor her as Mother of Good Counsel asking her to guide us for her counsel and example is so vitally important if we are to navigate safely to Heaven's shore through the obstacles of the world, the flesh and the devil. What better compass than the true faith and to pray daily her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

The Vigil of Pentecost resembles that of Easter. The Mass for Pentecost, formerly celebrated during the night, has, like the Mass of Easter, since been anticipated. There are six prophecies preceding the Mass, interspersed with Prayers and Tracts; formerly the catechumens, who had not been baptized at Easter, received the Sacrament on Whitsunday. The baptismal font is blessed, too and the Litany is sung, as on Holy Saturday. It seems as ...More

Today for the ninth and final day of this Novena to the Holy Ghost we focus on the Fruits of the Holy Ghost. These provide grace to perform good works under the inspiration of the Advocate. They contribute to pleasing not only God, but ourselves and our fellow man. These fruits enable us to be more virtuous in our lives by practicing charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, long-suffering, mildness, faith, modesty, continency and chastity. We dare say had more followed this Counsel, having the Gift of Wisdom through the Gifts of Knowledge and Understanding with the Gift of Fortitude for having a true Holy Fear via the Gift of the Fear of the Lord they would long to practice and acquire the Gift of Piety. Tomorrow we celebrate the arrival of the Sanctifier. Let us all strive to seek these seven Gifts He so generously bestows.Ninth and Final Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
Each day we feature a title and/or salutation to Our Lady in celebration of Mary's month of May and today, we call upon Mary as Comforter of the afflicted for those who lost loved ones or their homes through all kinds of catastrophes that visit mankind throughout man's tijme on this fleeting earth. She is always there to guide us to her divine Son and comfort us as we carry our cross, which we never know what that might be, it is how we willingly carry it that counts. We, with our fallen human nature, are all afflicted and it is a comfort to know she is there for us always. Therefore, let us all pray daily her Holy Rosary and contemplate on the magnificent titles she is known by in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The Fatima Prayers.

As much as we hate to beg, we have no choice. If you have benefited in anyway from what we have published, we humbly ask your help to keep this publication on line. We know that so many of our readers are unable to assist at a true traditional Latin Mass because of where they live and use the daily liturgy we publish to gain the efficacious graces possible through their prayers at home. We remain the only publication in the world to provide such and are grateful to God that we can provide such nourishment for souls. If you have not donated before, isn't it only right and proper to donate now? Whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Just click the button below or send a check/money order to the address below. We are a bonafide non-profit 501c(3) religious association and all donations are tax-deductible. Whatever you would have contributed toward any bloated political campaigns or thrown away in the conciliar collection plates that only goes to covering up the sins of its presbyters and false primates while destroying all semblence of Catholicism, why not earmark it for SANCTUS/DailyCatholic? After all, shouldn't we all take St. Paul's strong counsel in 2 Thessalonians 2: 14 to heart and "stand firm, and hold the traditions which you have learned"?

We encourage you to learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass - the true Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in these videos at this link because each time you worthily assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in person, you gain graces that are placed in a "golden chalice", so to speak, and is offered to God to be weighed in substance when you stand before Him at your Particular Judgment. The more you have filled this chalice, the better will it go for your spiritual welfare in eternity, enhanced by your cooperation with grace. Know the Mass

When One Cannot physically assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
we provide additional prayers that can be supplemented with the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and the PROPER OF THE DAY to enable you to better prepare yourself at home. Of course, this never replaces actually being there, but it is much better than attending the Novus Ordo services. Therefore we have gleaned from The Key of Heaven prayers to say at home. It is very comforting to know that the Holy Mass is offered for us even when we are not actually present. But to enjoy the benefits which it procures, we must by a SPIRITUAL COMMUNION become partakers of the altar from which we are temporarily banished. Here we provide prayers in preparation for fulfilling assistance in absentia in addition to the ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS and PROPER OF THE DAY. PRAYERS IN ABSENTIA

Prayer Before the Crucifix
Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Thy sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech Thee that Thou wouldst fix deep within my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope and Charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, whilst with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Thy five most precious Wounds; having before my eyes the words which David in prophesy spoke concerning Thee, O Good Jesus: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."
Plenary Indulgence, Condition:
- Confession
- Communion
- One Our Father
- One Hail Mary
- One Glory be...
Pope Pius IX, July 31, 1858

The Fatima Prayers
My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love Thee; and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love Thee.
(repeat the above 3 times then bow your head in reciting the following:)
O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in unison with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.
O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!
O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
