On Monday, July 7, 2014 we will commemorate - should I say commiserate - the seventh anniversary of the release of Father Joseph Ratzinger's (alias Benedict 16) unnecessary Motu Proprio titled "Summorum Pontificum" which was intended to grant more freedom to say the Latin Mass, with a lot of strings attached. Evidently no one told him that His Holiness Pope Saint Pius V set in stone that such a Motu Proprio would never be relevant when he decreed Quo Primum which mandated in perpetuity that every consecrated priest would not only have full permission to alway say the Immemorial Apostolic Canonical Mass of All Ages (what we today term the Traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass), but also must say it for all time. No one could alter the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Yet, it was Cardinal Angelo Roncalli (alias John 23) who did what no true Sovereign Pontiff had ever done. He tinkered with the Canon of the Mass by inserting St. Joseph. While we have nothing but reverence for the foster father of Jesus and chaste spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, had he intended to be included in the Communicantes - the Invocation of the Saints, don't you think the early Fathers and Popes of the Church would have? They did not include holy Joseph for a reason. You see those listed are those who were instrumental from Our Lord's public life on after Christ had established His One True Church. Joseph died prior to this and was in the Bosom of Abraham waiting for his Foster Son to descend into Limbo to free those remaining in that state from Adam and Eve on.
Keep in mind also that this was inserted into the Missal ordered by Roncalli and today embraced by the Society of St. Pius X, which effectively makes them, besides rabid, desperate Recognize-and-Resisters, quasi-traditionalists. Therein is the rub on Ratzinger's motivation for setting up his Motu Proprio. He had a method to his madness, and that madness is playing out today during the occupation of one Mr. Jorge Maria Bergoglio, an Argentine Marxist Jesuit whose roots are Roman via his parents.
We would so hope and pray that those who remain in the Recognize-and-Resist camp will take a lesson from Billy
Wilder's hit film of 1955 The Seven Year Itch. I will explain shortly. I will also share that I could not see said movie when it came out for three reasons. First, it was rated B by the Legion of Decency, a Roman Catholic safeguard for souls that was abandoned with the advent of the antichrist 'popes', thus allowing the Hollywood industry to go full hog in pushing the envelope, which today, as you know, blatantly fosters an anything goes mentality that has done so much damage to souls, mainly because the Beacon of morality and decency - the True Church - has been dimmed where few can see her light. Secondly, I was only twelve back then and, most likely I would not have understood the theme of the story even if I had seen it. Thirdly, my parents, bless their souls, seldom took us to see movies unless it was The Robe or The Silver Chalice. That was a big event in my youth.
So why did I bring up this particular film? Simple. For seven years now "Summorum Pontificum" has been in effect in the CONciLIAR climes and what have been the results? Ah, yes, like everything else in the man-made religion of man - the church of Darkness, nothing but bitter fruits just as Jesus affirmed in St. Matthew 7: 15-20 for "neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit" and the church that embraces the Novus Ordo is definitely a bad tree, yes, an evil one at that.
To divert a bit while we're speaking of chapter seven of St. Matthew's Gospel, I'd like to address the point that so many have absolutely misinterpreted the scriptures beccause they're trying to do just that: interpret scripture. That is absolutely wrong. One discerns what the Church has passed down. Interpreting the Bible only leads to opinions and Divine Revelation is not opinion, but doctrine. There can be no discussion. Ergo, verse one is misinterpreted that we must not judge whereas Christ mandates that we judge a person's words and actions. Their heart, mind and soul only God knows, but we have a duty as Catholics to judge if someone is sinning and to correct the sinner in as charitable a way as possible. If the sinner persists, as the Vatican 2 hierarchy has, then we must speak out and yes, ridicule if necessary to wake the lukewarm or to shame the sinner back to grace. The ill-timed, stupid statement by a man we call unFrancis - for he is the total opposite of his namesake St. Francis of Assisi - of "who am I to judge" was a get-out-of-jail card for everyone to do whatever they want, the hell with consequences. This has been borne out with the sodomite collective praising Bergoglio and liberal Democrats liberally tossing around his quotes to justify their political agendas. Yes, we are to judge, but if we do, we better not be hypocrites about it for we, too, are in the spotlight and should be judged as well. If we are in tune with the divine will, we will have no problem with that and not worry one iota what man thinks.
In that same vein, Our Lord tells us in verse six not to "give that which is holy to dogs; neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turning upon you, they tear you." We can see what the CONciLIAR cabal as done with the pearl of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacraments. They've turned it into an unholy slough where the pigs oink and grunt in charismatic fashion in whatever manner they deem meets their fancy whether they be V2 clerics or duped laity.
Someone recently said the CONciLIAR church is composed of two types: The deceivers and the deceived. I don't know if anyone could put it better. Jesus warned in verse thirteen that we must follow the narrow path. Yes, it is a lonely path, but the only path. In the next verse He warns us of "the false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly are ravening wolves." Can there be any better example of such than the heirarchs of the CONciLIAR church? I think not.
Knowing this, let us now return to the outline of The Seven Year Itch to see the comparison. I am using Wikipedia and IMDB as sources here for I've never seen the full movie, only clips. From best I can determine, Richard Sherman, played by actor Tom Ewell is a "nerdy, faithful, middle-aged publishing executive with an overactive imagination and a mid-life crisis". Think back to the supposedly innocent 50's when so many were in their comfort zone, taking their faith for granted. Then Vatican 2 struck and the vast majority were thrown into a mid-life crisis. What has happened to our Faith? Our Sacraments? Our priests and nuns? Few liked it, but "the Pope said so and our Bishop approved it, so we have to follow suit." Most went willingly, following the false pied piper out of the true Catholic Church into the man-made religion that aped Catholicism.
Oh, the devil was so clever by playing on the Achilles Heel of Catholics - obedience. There is such a thing as blind obedience and obedience to faith. We must always be obedient to God before man. Since man decided he knew better than God, those who followed the dictates of the CONciLIAR 'popes' were being, even if they didn't realize it, disobedient to God.
Yet there were those who clung to the past, ridiculed by those who had drunk the Kool-Aid for it was no longer possible in the Novus Ordo Missae to confect the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in these Protestant services, aptly called "eucharistic celebrations" for the sacrificial aspect of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was wiped out, thanks to the Modernist's henchman Annibale Bugnini who had infiltrated the upper echelons even under the last true Pope His Holiness Pius XII who thought he had effected fail-safe measures with his Sacramentum Ordinis to assure the ordination of priests. So much for that.
Like the siren played by femme fatal Marilyn Monroe who seduces Richard, so also Ratzinger's "Summorum" was the devil's way for those in the Recognize-and-Resist camp to drop their guard and be duped into actually thinking that the true Traditional Latin Mass and the false man-made Novus Ordo could co-exist. It was akin to Richard playing with fire in responding to the coquette signals from Monroe, while still being faithful to his wife Helen, who was played by actress Evelyn Keyes. Of course Richard was rationalizing that he could burn the candle at both ends and not get burned because he had been proofing a book by Dr. Brubaker that talked about extra-marital affairs being prominent in the seventh year of marriage, mostly for men.
Remember one of Richard's attributes is that he is "faithful" just as those in the Recognize-and-Resist camp claim to be and I have no doubt most of them are, just misinformed. Just as Richard was duped in fantasizing that women were attracted to him, so also those in the R&R ranks were duped into believing that Ratzinger was making amends and would turn things around. How dumb do you think that idea was? As much as they may have been hoping, the history of Ratzinger's words and actions should have told them this was a trap, a web of deceit as we have published here often and as others have documented numerous times with some of those articles available for Monday's features. The more Ratzinger courted the SSPX and the rest of the R&R gang, the more he lured them in.
The more this went on, the more the Recognize-and-Resisters twisted themselve in knots trying to justify that it would all work out, that is until unFrancis came on the scene and slowly but surely began to expose the underbelly of "Summorum" and alert Recognize-and-Resisters that they couldn't have the "Latin Mass" unless they also said the Novus Ordo - the "Ordinary form" and "Extraordinary form" respectively. This was made manifestly clear with the way Bergoglio and his henchman Commissioner Volpi dispatched the Franciscans of the Immaculate recently. I would best equate Bergoglio's actions and words as the subway grate that Monroe stood on in the famous, lurid and most unchaste scene of the fan blowing her skirt to reveal her undies. I know, it's a crass comparison but consider the soiled underwear of those who usurped the true Church; well, to put it as mild as possible, they've left excrement everywhere they've tread and still the Recognize-and-Resist gang refuse to realize the stain is permanent if they continue to court both the true Church and the false church.
Today we reach the seventh year. Let us hope and pray that they will take a cue from Ewell's character and finally come to their senses as he did in leaving Monroe and returning to his faithful wife. Richard feared Helen's retribution so you can't say it was purely out of love for his wife, but he did finally resist sin and turn back towards keeping his marriage intact. That's more than what can be said today about themes of films where extra-marital affairs and sodomy are the norm, laced with cursing, obscenities and nudity. No wonder I've given up going to the local multiplexes.
Summing it up, it's time for those in the Recognize-and-Resist camp to wake up and wise up. How can they recognize false prophets who have come in sheeps' clothing but beneath are ravening wolves? How can they reconcile their logic that it doesn't compute with Catholic teaching or divine revelation? How can they slam sedevacantists when the same have remained true to all the Church taught and practiced from the time of St. Peter up through Pope Pius XII? Oh, yes, we get those tired worn arguments that Christ promised He'd always be with us until the consummation of the world in St. Matthew 28: 20, and therefore we have to have a visible head of the Church. They forget that it was holy Mother Church who established the terms "sede vacante" and "interregnum" between the death of one true Pope and the election of the next true Pope. Also, keep in mind that the Church never set a time limit for an interregnum. Yes, the time of this interminable interregnum is unprecedented, but then so also is the gravity of eclipsing the true Church in this time foretold by divine revelation and private revelation as the Great Apostasy.
Considering all the defections of clergy from the SSPX, and the bitter fruits of the CONciLIAR church, wouldn't it behoove the Recognize-and-Resist camp to be honest with themselves? Isn't it time to admit they've been wrong and humbly, like the penitent prodigal son, return to the bosom of the true Church by no longer recognizing the Vatican 2 'popes' as true, but rather as antichrists in the truest sense. Did not St. John warn of this in his first Epistle, verses 18-20?
"Little children, it is the last hour; and you have heard that Antichrist cometh, even now there are become many Antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would no doubt have remained with us; but that they may be manifest, that they are not all of us. But you have the unction from the Holy One, and know all things."
Do the Recognize-and-Resisters know all things? No, especially not if they recognize an Antichrist as a legitimate Pope. Yes, we are in the last hour and, just as St. John depicts in Apocalypse 17 and 18, Modernist Rome is the great harlot of Babylon, "mother of the fornications, and the abominations of the earth". Protestants like to ascribe those passages as being the Catholic Church, but they fail to realize that the more they describe the church of fornication and abomination they are describing the CONciLIAR church and what is to come in the not too distant future as the Angel of the Apocalypse says in chapter 18: 2-10:
"Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen; and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every unclean spirit, and the hold of every unclean and hateful bird: Because all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication; and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her; and the merchants of the earth have been made rich by the power of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying: Go out from her, my people; that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and the Lord hath remembered her iniquities. Render to her as she also hath rendered to you; and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup wherein she hath mingled, mingle ye double unto her. As much as she hath glorified herself, and lived in delicacies, so much torment and sorrow give ye to her; because she saith in her heart: I sit a queen, and am no widow; and sorrow I shall not see. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine, and she shall be burnt with the fire; because God is strong, who shall judge her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication, and lived in delicacies with her, shall weep, and bewail themselves over her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning: Standing afar off for fear of her torments, saying: Alas! alas! that great city Babylon, that mighty city: for in one hour is thy judgment come."
Thus, sedevacantists, in the same manner that Richard's faithful wife hoped for his return, ask if the Recognize-and-Resisters will abandon their fantasies and realize the femme fatal of "Summorum" is nothing but a facade to cover the beast that is ready to lurch for it is of satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Will they cooperate with such beasts? If so, then they are, indeed, lost and we have no alternative but to shake our sandals and move on along the ever narrower path. But if they will finally realize that they've been greatly deceived and return to being faithful, scratching off their prejudices against sedevacantists, then there is hope that they will flee as fast as they can from the great harlot, unite with sedevacantists for the sake of saving souls and perpetuating the Truths and Traditions of the True Church, and by doing so, save their own souls by recognizing God's Providence through the warning sent by The Seven Year Itch.
