I'm not sure which came first, Beck's call or former Baptist minister-now turned Fox News commentator Mike Huckabee's impassioned speech at the recent CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee) Conference that replicated John Fitzgerald Kennedy's famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" ("I am a Berliner") when the former Arkansas Governor declared "We are all Catholics now!" Oh, if only we were! Huckabee is a good man, a naturalist of course, most in politics today sadly are as well as clergy. But Mike is a man who cleaned up the state of Arkansas after the corruption caused by Bill Clinton and his Lieutenant Governor Jim Guy Tucker, who had to resign in disgrace after his conviction of fraud in the Whitewater scandal that somehow the Clintons (both Bill and Hillary - the latter by far the most dangerous) managed (read bribed or blackmailed) their way out of any conviction. Mike has an impeccable record politically-wise and is uncompromisingly for the sanctity of life, far more than any of the so-called "Catholic" Republican candidates still in the running such as Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. The latter had a golden opportunity to stand for Catholic truth and such would be expected of one who attends the Latin Mass, albeit the Indult. It is something you would hope a conservative Catholic would stand for, but relatively sure a politician wouldn't. Sadly, Santorum is a politician first and he caved and backtracked on contraception by vigorously stating to Fox News that he was on record as having voted for women to have abortafacients and contraceptives available to them.
So close and yet so far. I don't care what long-term motives might be, no true Catholic worth his salt would ever sanction anything with Planned Parenthood, constitutents be damned because those same constituents will be if they participate in contraceptive measures. You would expect more from a man who speaks a good game and says all the things social conservatives want to hear, but his record - and we all have a record in God's book - speaks for itself and that is what is so tragic. As much as we all know Obama must go, there isn't a "Catholic" in the bunch with the guts to stand for the truth. The tragic truth is that Santorum and all the rest are afraid to stand up uncompromisingly for the truth despite the consequences. Oh, Rick, you had the chance and you blew it. If only he could have expressed what can be found in Step 39 of "Catholicism Made Simple" The Sixth and Ninth Commandments, but that takes a Catholic with guts and conviction. It's obvious the vast majority want to hide behind the false belief that it doesn't matter if they use contraception. If an egg never fertilizes they can't be accused of destroying a human life. If only they realized they are not only destroying a possible human fetus, but destroying their own soul. It's a slippery slope and it is not good, folks. I read an article the other day where more than half of the births in America among mothers under 30 were unwed mothers. Thank you, Vatican II, for relaxing divorce. The fruits are bitter as they always will be when coming from a bad tree (cf. St. Matthew 7: 15). Yes, we've reached that wretched time where the family unit has been skewered and marriage is passe; not only that but no longer sacred in the minds of the naturalists who bow to the PC gods who unabashedly promote the abomination of "same-sex marriage" which is an oxymoron if there ever was one. It's no secret everything is off-limits except the sacred and the tenets of Christianity. It's open season there. And while the campaign of "we are all Catholics now" gains steam, those pushing it are non-Catholics because most of the conciliar "Catholics" are sadly content with Obama because secretly, as I said above, they don't want to give up their contraceptives. They want to remain with their head in the sand. They think ignorance is bliss. Are they really that ignorant of the eternal bliss they're giving up with that kind of thinking? But such mindset has been promoted by the very clerics most conciliar "Catholics' thought were their shepherds, only to learn too late that they are "wolves in sheep's clothing." It's a sad day when Protestants show more gumption and express values more in line with Catholic truth than so-called "Catholics." Despite the fact Beck is barking up the wrong tree faith-wise, give him credit for doing something. Most just sit on their hands. It's going to get wild and wooly in the next several months and worse as the summer heats up. Are we prepared for the persecution that could come? We could sit back and sit out the election, but they're not kidding when they say this is the most important election in the history of the United States. We know the persecution will be Nero-like if Obama is re-elected and the fact abortion and family values has become front and center issue is really a good thing for it may roost many to get out and vote for morals rather than their pocketbook. No matter who gets in, America is in trouble. We shouldn't wonder why considering this country's moral depravity that not coincidentally began its steep plunge at the same time as Vatican II was taking root that enabled Roe v. Wade. Yes, folks, it's all related and despite Santorum's honest assessment that it's satan who we are battling, he can't seem to back it up with his voting record. While Huckabee's not in the running...yet, it is this editor's opinion that Huckabee would have made one heckava good President. Yeah, we spent three years in Arkansas and that's how they speak, "heckava good ol' boy". To my knowledge he is one who is not hung up with the prejudices of the good ol' southern boys and decries anything that has any hint of corruption. Though many wanted him to run, he placed God and family before his own aspirations this time around. He should have been the nominee in 2008. Had he, we may not have been shackled with the Marxist-in-chief we have now. Huckabee may yet be drafted because there is a possibility the Republican Convention this summer in Tampa could very well be a brokered convention. If that happens, as another former "Catholic" Sarah Heath Palin said recently, "all bets are off." Then there is another former "Catholic" on the scene who could be a dark horse: Florida Senator Marco Rubio. In fact, of all the candidates, and that even includes Santorum with his large family and ultra-conservative Catholic views that are so close to being traditional but yet so far, I'd be willing to bet Huckabee would strive for the Social Kingship of Christ before any other. If he could get that far, our prayers and penances could possibly get him to connect the last dots and convert to true Catholicism. That's what is needed for "We are all Catholics now" to really be effective. After all, that is what Christ intended when He said to His disciples, "Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth, and is baptized, shall be saved : but he that believeth not, shall be condemned" (St. Mark 16: 15-16). That's it in a nutshell to setting in motion the possibility of all becoming Catholic. Not a political movement. Ironic and sad as it may be, Huckabee is closer to that reality than Santorum. In fact many Protestants are nearer to that plausibility than conciliar "Catholics." Back to Beck. I must say I find it ironic that Beck is spearheading the "We are all Catholics now" movement. First off, Glenn is a casualty of the Jesuits who were at the forefront of the heretical revolt in the Church and implanted the apostasy of liberation theology in so many souls. What's that they say, "knowledge is power, but too much knowledge can be a dangerous thing"? Oh, that fits the Company all too well. Like so many after Vatican II, Glenn was a victim of a divorced family and had to live with his mother committing suicide. To cope during his teen years Glenn turned to the bottle and became an addict. After one failed marriage, by his own admission, he became suicidal and continued his substance abuse until he hit rock-bottom. Only by the grace of God did he avert death, and more power to him for rebounding as he has. I have to say no one has been more spot-on as far as predicting the current political landscape worldwide and one who foretold the Muslim Brotherhood would take over Egypt, the terrible damage George Soros has done worldwide while making billions on others' misfortunes and being the "Daddy Warbucks" behind Obama and the Demoncrat party in promoting Soros' no-holds barred socialistic ideology and setting up a shadow government ready to take over when chaos breaks out...and it will; all signs point to it whether it's in Israel, Iran or on our own shores. Glenn has been an avid supporter of Israel, even going to such lengths as to hold a rally near the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. He doesn't realize our Lord's warning to the Jewish people that until they accept Him as their Savior, they'll continue to be in exile. The problem is Glenn says he's researched religions and in his search for truth he settled on a mixed-up 19th Century "prophet" (read amoral polygamist), who claimed that he received messages from God because - get this - God had made a mistake and decided to tell Joseph Smith what He really meant. Really? No way. And that's the problem. Those who delve too much into false religions can truly be hoodwinked by the devil. Glenn, in his desperate search for truth, has been blinded to the real truth. But then what would you expect when his studies included - are you ready for this? - the works of Hitler, Nietzsche, Carl Sagan, Billy Graham, Alan Dershowitz (serial killer), and John Paul II! Well, with that swarm of extremely false ideologies and world views of course you wouldn't arrive at the truth. Sadly missing is St. Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologica. But then, Glenn started out under the tutelage of conciliarism so why should we be surprised he fell away? Glenn was responsible for an impressive rally held on the mall in Washington D.C. a few years ago in which he drew nearly one million Tea Party Conservatives who value family values. The mass crowd left the grounds cleaner than when they arrived. Not one shred of trash was left so we can't underestimate his influence and pray he will convert back to Catholicism, true Catholicism is he truly is seeking the Truth. As a side note, compare Tea Party activities to the Occupiers around the country. No contest, but you won't hear that from the mainstream (lamestream) media who are in the progressivists' back pocket and are, as Glenn has so often insisted, complicit in the conspiracy to destroy America. And America is being destroyed and will not rebound until collectively she repents, accepts Jesus Christ as Sovereign King over all and comes to the realization that true peace can only be accomplished through the one Church Christ instituted...and that Church of Eternal Rome in no way resembles what passes as "Catholic" in Modernist Rome. Make no mistake about that. While the Revolution began with Adam and Eve, it festered during the Reformation and two Revolutionary Wars in France and America, then in boiled frog form raised its ugly head in the sixties. What is happening in the United States today and for most of the world as well already happened in the Church. Exhibit A: Vatican II. While Beck and other like conservatives will tell you the problems go back to Teddy Roosevelt and then really nosedived under Woodrow Wilson, who Beck despises and blames for many of the current problems existant today, though Franklin Delano Roosevelt had much to do with the baggage we're stuck with today as well, we know the root of the problem. But that's something few naturalists can decipher because they have not been given the grace to see the full picture. Much like most in this nation who voted for the likes of Jimmy Carter and Clinton. Just think where we would be now if Al Gore had won the chads in Florida over George W. Bush? Ouch! But then, the slippery slope had already been cast. Republican or Democrat, they're all cut from the same mold. The only difference is one is more overt, the other more covert. The founding fathers, naturalists all, were both, overt in that they wanted no interference from the Church of England and King George III, who as the consequences of Henry VIII, once the "Defender of the Faith" who apostasized and set the ruler of England over the Church, was the end-all and be-all of everything. They were covert in the fact they wanted nothing to do with the Papists and Popes Clement XIII and Pius VI. Despite the heavy influence of Spanish and French missionaries, the founding fathers and those who had migrated to the new world from England were very anti-Catholic as Dr. Marian Horvat so expertly documents in her piece Let None Dare Call it Liberty: The Catholic Church in Colonial America Just reading that proves the oxymoron that the founding fathers never intended a separation of Church and State, but rather the only thing they intended was what they wrote, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." Well, we know that's been violated numerous times for they managed to make politics a religion. We also know that the majority of the founding fathers were unabashedly anti-Catholic as Marian points out. What do you think they would say if they heard the phrase "We are all Catholics now?" Methinks they'd be appalled. I know I'm appalled at how many "former 'Catholics'" there are. But who can blame them? Again, how much did Beck know growing up? Consider what occurred at Vatican II when so much was relaxed that many felt lost. Beck made a point to travel to the Vatican last week to rally the "curia" and "cardinals" to the cause. Huh? A Mormon teaching the so-called leaders of the newChurch. Talk about topsy-turvy. They haven't got a clue. Why? Because they've forgotten or don't want to remember all that was taught prior to John XXIII's aggiornamento. It reminds me of what the late Gilda Radner of SNL lore was known to say, "Nevermind." And that's the problem. They dismissed all the wisdom of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church. They dismissed the virtues of the saints. They dismissed the disciplines that encouraged virtue, penance, sacrifice. They became soft and became easy fodder for the serpent's wiles. Pope Leo XIII had warned of such a catastrophe. He even composed a prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel which every true Catholic knows by heart and says often daily. John Gregory has an excellent column on this "The Greatest of these is Charity" in this issue on why God has allowed this evil to surface and what we must do to counter it as does Bill Metallo, head of the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, who weighs in with his first column How the Faith will be Lost, and, finally, we know you'll be pleased that Griff Ruby returns with the first of a short series entitled "Vatican on the Brain" with his first part The Nonsense of Those Who Refuse the Church's Authority And speaking of true, I heard where someone from the pulpit praised in an eulogy for Whitney Houston, calling this obvous drug-addicted diva "an angel looking down and smiling." Whoa! As shocking as this might sound it is the mindset of too many today that whenever someone dies they go immediately to Heaven. Well, if we are to believe Catholic dogma, then we know that is not possible for one to get into Heaven lickety-split if one dies not in the state of sanctifying grace. Yes, we don't know the soul, only the person's words and actions, but, folks, it's Catholic truth backed by divine revelation and tradition that one in mortal sin cannot enter the heavenly realm. At best, one would spend a long, long time in Purgatory. But then, that's been so watered down in this day and age that even Purgatory is dismissed. After all in this day of religious liberty when it doesn't seem to matter to anyone from Benedict XVI on down what religion you are everyone goes to Heaven. Oh, are they in for a shocking surprise. Also many are in for a surprise when they realize that among the twenty-two "bishops" elevated to "cardinal" in the counterfeit church of conciliarism at the latest consistory there is not a true priest in the bunch, let alone a true bishop. Ergo, not one in the future would be a true pope if elected from that scarlet litter. It is the scarlet letter they bear: "A" for Apostasy. And with all the "papabili" buzz about the charismatic facade of the new media darling who just received the conciliar cardinalate, "Archbishop" Timothy Dolan of New York, it gets even more bizarre. As Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey has pointed out in several of his columns at Christ or chaos these false bishops have backed themselves into a corner by not standing uncomprisingly from the outset on protecting the sanctity of life and not caving on other issues in the seamless garment fabric fashioned by the likes of the apostate Joseph Bernardin, the late "Archbishop" of Chicago. Now another windy city notorious one, namely Obama, has called their bluff. They should be thankful the Protestants and former "Catholics" have risen to their defense. Now they need God to come to their defense. That can only occur if they repent of their apostasy. Only then can we begin to hope for the possibility, the very will of God that "we are all Catholics now" for that has been the will of God ever since Jesus proclaimed to Saint Peter in St. Matthew 16: 18, "Upon this Rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Until all realize that we can't all be Catholics unless we seek and secure the Social Kingship of Christ the King and the Blessed Virgin Mary as our Immaculate Queen, the chaos will only grow worse. Talk is cheap, action is what is needed for the sake of souls, for the sake of the unborn, but with the latest bevy of beretta bozos Benedict has appointed and the batch of blowhards bleating to be the next president while apologizing that they're not against contraception as much as people might think, we're worse off than before and that, folks, is the crux of a Catch-22.
