There are some who have asked why we did not begin posting the 30-day Novena to good Saint Joseph this past Tuesday on February 19. That would be because this year his feast falls upon Wednesday in Holy Week and is therefore transfered to April 1 after Easter Week and immediately following another transfered feast, the March 25th Feast of the Annunciation to March 31. We hope this will clarify things and be assured the Novena will be posted in the Laetare Sunday issue on March 2, when at least through Easter Week we will return to a weekly format with each daily Liturgy being provided so that you have the spiritual sustenance during Lent. This may begin this week, depending on the editor's time to format it. Another reason we are going weekly is so that we also will have the time to devote to exercises and reflection during Lent. This is paramount for us, for in seeking to save souls, we have to focus on our own just as St. Paul says that he must condition himself lest he would veer from the path. No one working in our Lord's vineyard is immune from the wiles of the devil. And ol' hornhead seems to intensify his attacks during Lent, giving us all more instances and reasons to offer up in reparation for our own sins and others to ease the outrages, sacrileges and indifference to our Lord and His Most Sorrowful and Immaculate Mother. Lent means to share Their suffering, be willing to walk the walk of Calvary, not just talk the talk! We can see what His most trusted core of Apostles did. Therefore we all have to be on our guard and that has to be first and foremost for us. Our own salvation depends on it. In addition, this editor's eyesight is suffering from being at the computer so much and I have fewer headaches when not wearing reading glasses. Add to that two other facts, sitting aggravates the pinched sciatic nerve and, finally, since this is a labor of love I need to focus that love on what holy Mother Church asks. The readings of the venerable Abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger along with Sacred Scripture and our own devotions of the Rosary need priority. Since donations have dried up except for the rare few who always give and the hits differ very little whether we do a daily or a weekly or even a monthly, we must set priorities that will be pleasing to God and cause less stress, not to mention wear and tear on our aging bodies. The constant in-fighting among traditionalists, the immense sadness in seeing the anathema perpetrated in the name of the Catholic Church by Masonic potentates and lodge brothers in spreading a lie that the current material institution is Catholic. NO! It is not. It can in no way assimilate with the spotless Mystical Bride of Christ. And yet, amidst so much lukewarmness even amongst traditionalists it seems very few care any more. This is verified in the lack of justice, let alone charity in the total lack of almsgiving during Lent. Well...it's time to step away and publish less frequently. Perhaps less will motivate readers to want more. We don't know, but we entrust it to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts.

A Kingdom Brought to Desolation

Sermon for the Third Sunday of Lent

Father Louis Campbell

For the Third Sunday of Lent, we reach back three years to Father Louis Campbell's sermon that packed a wallop in identifying the very problem those who have stayed with the Novus Ordo continue to face. They are bishopless and priestless for they have condoned the ransacking of traditional forms, especially in the Sacraments of Holy Orders. Father reminds us of the chicanery of the modernists who have done all they can to expunge Pius XII's Apostolic Constitution Sacramentum Ordinis to cover their tracks. Fr. Louis points out that this Acta Apostolicae Sedis from November 30, 1947 conveys the fullness of truth spoken of by Father in his no-nonsense sermon today. These men who have accepted modernism may look like bishops, they may sound like bishops (even though they don't ACT like bishops), but they are NOT bishops for, as Father reveals, their consecrations are not valid. This was written during the time talk was heating up about the impending Conclave in John Paul II's waning days and for readers to realize most all of those entering the Sistine Chapel were not even true cardinals, let alone priests or bishops. Ratzinger was a priest, but definitely not a bishop or a cardinal. Certainly not a pope today. The Motu is madness because it is built on sand. The apostasy is so great that it has laid waste to practically the entire conciliar church. Look around you at the ruins. There is scant left to choose from. Had these men been ordained according to the truly Catholic Rite, then, even were they to be the most vile of heretics, they would still be priests, albeit bad ones, but authentic ones. For some that is the case, but for those ordained according to Paul VI's changes, it wouldn't matter if they were in heresy or were the most holiest of men, they still are not properly ordained priests in Christ's One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. As Our Lord states in today's Gospel, "He who is not with Me is against Me." When the laity realize this truth by fleeing from the Novus Ordo Lodges and their Grand Masters in droves, then they will pray all the more earnestly for true bishops. That plea will be heard in Heaven only when NOM presbyters are re-ordained in accordance to the form and matter set in stone by Pius XII and begin to celebrate on a daily basis universally the Mass of All Ages and live the Faith as it has always meant to be lived. Father lays it out in his sermon based on Our Lord's words in Luke 11: 17.

As these pages load, we invite you to say as many Hail Mary's as necessary. You can click on the Rosary button to the left as well. We pray you will be imbued by the truths of the authentic Catholic Faith we provide here and yearn to learn more of the infrangible truths of the only Church founded by Jesus Christ.

Everyone over 21 and 59 years of age is bound to observe the law of fast. The days of fast are all the days in Lent, all days of partial abstinence except Sundays. On days of fast only one full meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength may be taken according to each one's need, but together they should not equal another full meal. Meat may be taken at the principal meal on a day of fast except on days of complete abstinence. Eating between meals is not permitted but liquids, including milk and fruit juices are allowed. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. In doubt concerning fast or abstinence, consult your parish priest or confessor.

(Adopted by the heirarchy of the United States, November 1958)

Everyone over 7 years of age is bound to observe the law of abstinence. Complete abstinence is to be observed on Fridays, Ash Wednesday, Holy Saturday and the Vigils of the Immaculate Conception (December 7) and Christmas (December 24). On days of complete abstinence, meat and soup or gravy made from meat may not be used at all. Partial abstinence is to be observed on Ember Wednesdays and Saturdays and the vigil of Pentecost (Saturday before). On days of partial abstinence, which are not complete abstinence days or Sundays, meat and soup or gravy made from meat may be taken only once a day at the principal meal.

Why would the Jews ever have looked a gift horse in the mouth and said 'no'? That is a question for the ages. Will we cave to temporal trivials like the original children of Abraham did or be true to Christ as the spiritual children of Abraham?

We continue with this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. We publish it here in conjunction with the Epistle and Gospel for the Sunday Mass, with the cogent comprehensive Catholic Commentary penned by Father George Leo Haydock. John has urged that we put this online at least by Saturday so readers can properly prepare for the Sunday Mass. For the Fourth Sunday of Lent we can see the joy of the fulfillment of the Messias expressed from Isaias, Rejoice, O Jerusalem, hence this Sunday is better known as Laetare Sunday. This is illustrated in the Epistle where the promise of the Messias is carried out through Isaac representing the new testament which the Jews would spurn, squandering their heritage. This is reminded in today's Gospel when, amidst the joy of the miracle of the loaves, Christ realized the Jews looked at Him not as the promised Messias for heavenly purposes, but a temporal king. Then as well as now they still do not realize or accept that Jerusalem is not the physical city, but the celestial city of Heaven, expressed so well by Fr. Haydock as John shows. You who were barren, are now full of joy

"Unless ye take up thy cross and follow Me daily, ye canst be My disciple." Do we take our Lord seriously on this or not?

For each Friday of Lent we are redacting John Gregory's comprehensive meditation on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. The time continuum between the Praetorium where the Jews screeched 'Crucify Him!', and the moment He arrived at the summit of Calvary could well have taken thirty minutes to an hour and a half. In this time, we have in the Via Crucis, several lessons we can garner from this interval, including His reunion with His Sorrowful Mother, the aid of Simon of Cyrene, the gentle charity of Veronica, the weeping of the women of Jerusalem, and three cruel falls along the way; each more crushing and exhausting. Despite all this, the question arises: do we have the spiritual stamina to keep up with Him? John provides meditation for thus in Fourth Sorrowful Mystery: The Carrying of the Cross

To combat the outrages, sacrileges and indifference against the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts today that so attack the true Faith, we must fashion from the fire of Faith the sword of truth wielded with unyielding zeal for the Freedom and Exaltation of Christ's true Church.

With few willing to fight for the "Freedom and Exaltation of holy Mother Church" today, Cyndi Cain recommends a saint who dedicated his life to this and who exhibited the holy zeal necessary to carry this out and save souls so lost in the darkness of sin. Why is there so much darkness today? We all know the answer to that. It's because the Light is not recognized in the darkness as St. John verified in the first chapter of his Gospel. How do we help reverse that? Through our zeal for souls in spreading the Faith Christ commanded us to spread. But we can't do that if we ourselves are not on fire with authentic Catholic zeal the likes of men like St. Anselm, the holy Doctor of the Church who let nothing deter him from his mission for God in upholding the Freedom and Exaltation of holy Mother Church. This learned saint used every ounce of his being to bring our Lord to souls, defending the Faith despite the odds, going against earthly kings in order to uphold the King of kings. Why then today are there no Anselms to guide us in the darkness, especially in this black hole of The Great Apostasy? Because we have lost that love of zeal for souls, falling into complacency and indifference while the world falls deeper into darkness. With so few lights to light the way toward Truth, hope wanes. How will God judge us when He asks what we did to enlighten the world to the Light of the world, to fight for the Freedom and Exaltation of the Church? If we do not develop true zeal, we'll have no answer for the Supreme Judge when it counts the most as to our eternal destiny. Cyndi offers some tips to help all realize this in her lesson, Do we have the Zeal to Persevere?

It's a jungle out there and the SSPX is dangerously close to being engulfed in the stifling, choking vines of Vatican II. The Ape of Anglicanism is hunting them down for there is a gorilla in their midst whose name is Ratzinger.

The recent letter by an SSPX superior in Mexico and the lambast by none other than His Excellency Bishop Richard Williamson from his bunker in Argentina against Ratzinger for caving to the Zionists with the abhorrent new Good Friday Prayer should be the warning shot across the SSPX bow that a split is coming and yet there exists the very real possibility that Bishop Bernard Fellay has passed the failsafe point in sealing the "bargain" with Fr. Joseph Ratzinger that the latter will lift the "excommunications" in force by a false church since 1988 in exchange for the Society's compliance with conciliarism through silence in the same manner Campos caved. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey has filed another carefully vetted article on this by summarizing the similarities of Anglicanism and how there really is no difference between the Church of England, whose ordinations and episcopal ordinations were ruled null and void by His Holiness Pope Leo XIII, and the counterfeit church of conciliarism whose revised man-made rites are basically the same as those condemned by Leo. Tom calls it the Ape of Anglicanism and the jungle is ripe with traps, more heresies and surrender if the SSPX insists on Fellay and Fr. Schmidberger's ill-advised safari into the dangerous depths of Modernism in trying to reason with conciliar cannibals. The pot is boiling and Hegelian headhunters circle the cauldron, waiting for March 25 - the seventeenth anniversary of the death of the Society's founder Archbishop Marcel Lefebre. Tom reminds that they all should have listened to the nine 'scouts' 25 years ago for they had carefully scouted that very jungle and realized the chief of the true tribe had been struck and the gorillas and guerillas were in the midst and have been for nearly 50 years. High Church, Low Church

The Mystical Body of Christ has been beaten, pummeled and mocked with cruel thorns beyond recognition today, but we know the spotless Bride remains infrangible while hying to the catacombs to escape the nip and tuck doctors of apostasy who have incurred the wrath of Almighty God by foisting on so many the "abomination of desolation."

Resurrecting a series that first appeared on these pages six years ago, editor Michael Cain continues his series on the analogy of the Mystical Body of Christ with the Sorrowful Mysteries. This week he focuses on the Third Sorrowful Mystery - the Crowning with Thorns - and how it correlates with the Novus Ordo Seclorum Mess concocted by Giovanni Montini and his non-Catholic henchmen and how this ignominous humiliation of the Body of Christ is so pummeled by that sacrilegious, scandalous and Protestant/Masonic/Talmudic service that poses as a "Mass." Cain shows clearly how it is eerily closer to the blasphemous Masonic Mass than the Traditional Latin Mass. And the Motu isn't even close to replicating the latter. He proves this by exposing the elements of a Masonic Mass so the reader can see without a shadow of a doubt that the conciliar concessions are patterned on a mockery of all that is holy. He exposes the two-faced Janus that Ratzinger has always shown as when as a 'cardinal' he said "The New Mass is the real destruction of the Roman Rite!" and yet, today, has done all he can to enthrone it as the main one while tossing a crumb to traditionalists as long as the Recognize-and-Resisters keep their part of the 'Bargain' and annihilate the reputation of those pesky Sedevacantists who know the real Ratzinger. For BeneRatz such a hit job is necessary to wipe out any opposition to his One World religion. Cain pulls no punches in A Thorny Problem that Needs to be Cleared Up.

Practice makes perfect and that is why, in her wisdom, holy Mother Church repeats the exercises of Lent every year. Eventually we'll get it right!

We continue with the reflections by the wise and holy abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger on the Liturgical Time of the Penitential Season. This week we provide his brilliant reflections and explanation on the Practice of the Lenten Season as he explains the importance of the correlation between body and soul. Body and Soul; they cannot be separated until death. What the body does, the soul will either also suffer the consequences of or reap the rewards. Lent affords both to work in harmony through mortification of the body for contrition of the soul. If the soul has willed to sin, then the body must also pay. There can be no sincerity where the body doesn't participate with the soul. Practice makes perfect and that is the purpose of cleansing both body and soul of the harmful effects of sin during Lent through prayer, fasting, penance and almsgiving. The whole purpose of this feature is to provide something special so readers can enhance their spiritual lives, appreciate the traditions passed down and apply the principles of what Abbe Gueranger left to posterity in his masterful volumes known as The Liturgical Year. Hopefully his words will spark a renewal of contrition and amendment to live as Catholics should in rejecting the world and its lures and striving for holiness. Few can explain so clearly the wisdom of holy Mother Church in laying out the liturgical Church year better than this man who could very well be a Doctor of the Church someday when the Authority of Peter is returned to Rome. His reflections will hopefully wake many to realizing the treasure of sacrifice, self-mortification and penance in building the spiritual muscle to bulk up the numbers in restoring holy Mother Church to her former glory. The Practice of Lent

Beelzebub's greatest accomplishment has been to convince people he doesn't exist. Oh how we have been hoodwinked and, had we listened to the Word, we would be prepared today for the demons' onslaught.

This series, compiled by editor Michael Cain, is intended to identify one key word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so the faithful can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO for the Third Sunday of Lent is daemonia, which is the Latin for "devils" as in plural - "demons" taken from today's Gospel when where we see the devastation and darkness they perpetually represent which places a soul in mortal danger as Christ so clearly explains in the Gospel for March 11 from Luke 11. Cain explains in The Devil is in the Details

As St. Paul urges us in his Epistle to guard our appetites and St. Luke depicts in today's Gospel, we must be on guard against the devil for if we are not careful another seven times worse will enter and shackle us even deeper in sin.

In symmetry with the Epistle and Gospel for each Sunday, we continue what John Gregory has compiled in bringing the cogent comprehensive Catholic Commentary penned by Father George Leo Haydock, found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible, to life by enlarging the typeface. We continue with this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottome of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. We publish it here in conjunction with the Epistle and Gospel for the Sunday Mass, with the cogent comprehensive Catholic Commentary penned by Father George Leo Haydock. The problem has always been that the typeface is so small that many cannot read the gems contained in these commentaries and miss out on discernments listed by the Fathers and Doctors of the Church as well as many saints and theologians. Now, thanks to John's efforts, we can provide readers with those words republished here in larger type and immediately following each respective verse to aid the contemplation of our readers. Today for the Third Sunday of Lent we can see the sage discernment of Christ's words in the St. Luke's Gospel intended for the Jews who had been waiting for just such a Messias but when He shewed Himself they rejected Him because they were thinking in temporal ways. The benefit of the Haydock reminds Christians that it also refers to us as well for we have the benefit of Baptism, but when we sin then we fall prey to the devil and even worse, seven times worse, so that we will be held even more responsible. This is brought home specifically in St. Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians. No one is immune from the devil's temptations

The first Doctor of the Church to be made a cardinal, St. Peter Damian had much to do in ecclesiastical reform, including weeding out the antipopes during the Dark Ages. Where, oh where, are the St. Peter Damians in our dark ages today?

In honor of the Double Feast of the holy Bishop Saint Peter Damian, we feature a brief profile on this holy Doctor of the Church who lived during the reign of sixteen pontiffs - some antipopes, no less. He was the first Doctor in over three centuries - a time when the Church sank into laxity and corruption, especially when violation of the disciplines and simony were rampant. It was truly the "Dark Ages" and into this darkness God sent a guiding light to reform His holy Church early in the second millennium. This holy monk counseled seven popes. He was the first Doctor to be made a cardinal. St. Peter Damian was truly The Guiding Light of the Dark Ages

In the midst of the Church today the saints are still there interceding for the remnant in the catacombs to pray and heed what was passed down by the Doctors of the Church to bring the True Faith out of the darkness of The Great Apostasy.

Taking the Latin Verbum and Quotidianum, which mean respectively "Word" and "Daily", we have coined the word "VerbumQUO" for the title of this series by contracting quotidianum to quo and running it together as Verbumquo; thus the "Daily Word", as in the sum of the message, the 'quotient', if you will. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is Ecclesiae: the Latin word for "of the Church" which is taken from the Introit and the Epistle for the Mass of a holy Doctor of the Church, today being St. Peter Damian. It is indeed in the midst "of the Church" that we are nourished and grow in grace, weaned by our holy Mother Church as Cain explains in Return to the bosom of your true Mother

He was bloodied and scourged for our iniquities as the Prophet Isaias foretold. We can help lessen the sting by mortifying our senses, especially during Lent.

For each Friday of Lent we are redacting John Gregory's comprehensive meditation on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. Christ, the Lamb of God, is brought before Pilate seemingly beaten and having been subjected to ridicule and mockery with the cruel crown of thorns. At any time He could have ripped that piercing tiara from His head and struck down His persecutors and emerged in man's eyes victorious over the Romans and Jews, but He was the God-Man, come to redeem us through love, not hate; exhibited with holy Humility, not pride. Just as the Jews cried out in pride to patronize Pilate "We have no king but Caesar," so also we, who are true sons of God, must, in all humility, state unequivocally: "We have no King but Jesus." Where He is mocked, we offer humble prayer of reparation and expiation for these terrible sins against the Incarnate Word so cruelly tortured and disfigured. John shares his thoughts to meditate on for the Third Sorrowful Mystery: The Crowning with Thorns

Upon the foundation of the Rock is based all the truths of Christ's teachings for all times in the New Covenant because the divine mandate for the salvation of every soul, bar none, was entrusted to Simon BarJona and his successors.

Editor Michael Cain poses as the word Petram as the VerbumQUO of the day. It is the Latin word for "Peter" or "Rock." Upon this is built the rock-solid truths and traditions of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church - the ONLY Church Jesus Christ consecrated. Today's VerbumQUO says it all with Rock of All Ages

Among many of the talents attributed to the refined Ratzinger, one might add "vaticantriloquist" because what's coming out of his dummies' mouths originated with the suit-and-tie Hegelian way back in the sixties.

While ventriloquists can be hilarious, it is no joking matter when it comes to the Faith. It is not a "Game" as some have intimated. After vetting this article with several true Bishops among others, Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey confidently posts this piece that conveys without a shadow of a doubt that we can be assured, given the highly volatile nature of the controversy on the Good Friday Prayer, that Walter Kasper and "Archbishop" Gianfranco Ravasi, to name a few, did not speak on their own, that they had approval from "on high." As Tom intros, "Conciliiarism and its progenitors, including Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, strike at the heart of the nature of truth, which is to strike at the very nature of God Himself, Who is Truth, and His immutability. To disbelieve in the nature of truth, including dogmatic truth, is to disbelieve in God Himself, making of Him an Hegelian projection Who permits His creatures to 'finesse' His truths according to the circumstances of the moment." Tom addresses the latest bafflegab skimble-skamble on the Good Friday Prayer and Kasper's total abdication from Catholic truth, as Tom writes,"Perhaps those defending the new prayer will convince themselves--and will attempt to convince others--that Walter Kasper does not speak for Benedict XVI, which is the same old, discredited song that many of us sung during the false pontificate of Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II. Defending the indefensible makes it necessary to suspend rationality and logic, blinding oneself to the hard evidence that your strongly held suppositions and fondest wishes do not conform to reality." Tom is no masochist, taking no pleasure in having to constantly expose the corruption of doctrine that has been so pillaged, but souls are at stake and he has no choice for this is not a "game" but it is a competition to the last with the devil, as he points out in his recently posted essay, Defending the Truth is Never Any Kind of Game

God has a reason why He enabled mendicant orders to be formed for without them we'd be too busy, to complacent to pray.

Editor Michael Cain has taken the Latin Verbum and Quotidianum, which mean respectively "Word" and "Daily", and coined the word "VerbumQUO" for the title of this series by contracting quotidianum to quo and running it together as Verbumquo; thus the "Daily Word", as in the sum of the message, the 'quotient', if you will. This is intended to identify one key word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so the faithful can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is mendicus, which is the Latin for "beggar", who is a mendicant and it is taken from today's Gospel in which our Lord describes the plight of the rich man and the beggar and we see it is better to choose the life of the beggar for the sake of salvation. Cain explains in Traditional Catholic "beggars" can't afford to be choosy!

Two men walk into a synogogue. One converts the Jews to the truth by instilling the Fear of the Lord in them, the other prays their prayers, panders and dialogs ad nauseum, conceding whatever the world wants for the times to patronize man, then backpeddles from that, placating no one at all. Which man was pleasing to God? Duh!

With the counterfeit church of conciliarism assuring the world that 'conversion is no longer a mission of the Church', Cyndi Cain reminds all of a holy saint that would have been the first to say "Rubbish. That's anathema." That saint is St. Vincent Ferrer who, like Ratzinger, visited a synagogue, and unlike Ratzinger, preached the Truth and converted 25,000 Jews. St. Vincent knew that the less one thought of hell, the closer they came to the abyss. He kept before all the Four Last Things - Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell. It was the Fear of the Lord that St. Vincent instilled in souls by preaching the uncompromised truths of Catholicism to countless souls in bringing Jew and Infidel into the bosom of holy Mother Church. Today, that wisdom is discarded, the gargoyles gracing the magnificent cathedrals of Europe that once reminded one of the reality of evil and hell has been shelved for dialogue and humanism. Don't worry about your soul, everyone is going to Heaven. Not! St. Vincent knew the truth and wasn't afraid to make people afraid, very afraid if they fell into sin or veered from the True Faith even one iota. The question is do we have the courage to instill the virtue of the Fear of the Lord in our fellow man? If not, we're in trouble, big trouble! Cyndi brings out why in her lesson Have no fear when you have the Fear of the Lord

There is a responsibility we must uphold and pass on to posterity all that we have inherited from the divine Will. We must never forget that our heredity comes from the Cross and we must cross the same way to assure our inheritance.

Editor Michael Cain continues this series with the hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is hereditátem, which is the Latin for "inheritance", taken from today's Epistle and Gradual for our inheritance comes from God and for so great an inheritance as our Faith, we are given the way to earn this inheritance through the merits of Jesus Christ. But to earn it we must take up our cross. Cain explains in Where there's a Will, there's a Way: Via Crucis!

Modernist whips, fashioned and twisted into place at Vatican II, lash at the Mystical Body of Christ with unrelenting force in the sabotage of souls.

Resurrecting a series that first appeared on these pages six years ago, editor Michael Cain continues his series on the analogy of the Mystical Body of Christ with the Sorrowful Mysteries. Today he focuses on the second Sorrowful Mystery - the Scourging at the Pillar - and how it correlates with the Second Vatican Council where the lashes of progressive reform and compromise were snapped with a fury, every year stinging deeper as more scourgers have gathered around the Pillar and proceeded to further decimate the Mystical Body unmercifully with the whips of worldliness. Though they have tried to excuse and extemporize the flagellation as nothing more than a few flesh wounds, it truly has gone much deeper as the precious Blood sorrowfully and scandalously has blanketed the secular stone floor of every ism and vice possible as Cain explains in the analogy of the Scourging at the Pillar: The Kind of Rot that Smells to High Heaven

The humbling reality that to be last will merit us first in the next life if we are loyal to our Lord and Master in this life should be enough to bury our stubborn pride.

Editor Michael Cain continues this series, intended to identify one key word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so all can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO for Tuesday in the Second Week of Lent is miníster, which is the Latin for "servant", taken from today's Gospel; when we hear our Lord speaking about who is master, we realize one cannot be master unless one is willing to be the humblest of servants, serving One Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. Cain explains in To master humility one must serve God first and foremost

Just as Pope Julius II hounded Michelangelo in his craft, so it can be agonizing when a great Catholic like G.K. Chesterton diminishes the greatness of the 16th century master who many feel should be a Doctor of the Church for what he left to all in the ecstasy of Art and Sacrament.

In accordance with Catholic teaching, we present an interesting essay by Scott Montgomery to commemorate the 444th anniversary of the death of the master Michelangelo. The Italian virtuoso in sculpturing and with his imaginative brush is beloved for his brilliant masterpieces in marble, reliefs, and paintings that convey why many many consider him a kind of artistic Doctor of the Church. Most of his art greatly honors God and has remained as timeless edifications throughout the Vatican including the massive St. Peter's Cupola and the Sistine Chapel, not to mention other priceless works. Today Scott refutes another great Catholic who thought less of Michelangelo in selling the 16th century maestro of maestros short. Scott seeks to set the record straight. He provides his arguments below in delineating Michelangelo vs. Chesterton as well as pointing out the message imparted by Michelangelo's dedication, which should be emulated by priests today. Scott speaks specifically of the Jesuits who were once such an edifying group of consecrated sacerdotes. Yet today, due to liberation theology, new ageism, and adherence to the Modernist agenda of Vatican II, The Society of Jesus has so few truly consecrated priests left, and from this void comes another Modernist to lead them further toward ruin in Fr. Adolfo Nicholas as the new 'black pope.' St. Ignatius of Loyola must be deeply embarassed. Pray for the Jesuits for they are so in need of prayer and Scott asks that we all entrust them to Our Lady for a vital return to their original mission of orthodoxy for the sake of souls everywhere. The Agony and Ecstasy of being judged by Modern Standards

It's official: For the counterfeit church of conciliarism, converting the Jews was only a "Christian vision" and not a 'program' of the Church. Uhh, did they check with our Lord on that? Didn't think so. Those who are not with Christ are against Him and will die in their sin.

The VerbumQUO for the Second Monday in Lent is moriemini, which is the Latin for "you shall die", taken from today's Gospel when we hear our Lord and Savior say to the multitude of Jews that they will die in their sins if they do not accept Him as the Messias. The same holds true today if we do not heed all that He commanded and taught (cf. Matthew 28: 20). And yet, what are we faced with in the headlines? Compromise and hedging, retractions from Catholic truth in order to placate man from all the conciliarists all marching in lockstep with the heresy of Modernism from BeneRatz on down. Cain explains in Mortal Sin is the consummate Dead-End!

Isn't it time to return to roughing it in prayer, penance, self-mortification and reparation in throwing ourselves into the ruggedness of Lent, the kind of Lenten observance our forefathers lived, the kind that built up sturdy souls to deal with the devil? The problem is we've grown soft and pliable for satan's whims.

We continue with the reflections by the wise and holy abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger on the Liturgical Time of the Penitential Season. For the Second Sunday of Lent we provide his brilliant reflections and explanation on the mystery of the Lenten Season. There is a purpose to the why we commemorate Lent and how intricate fasting and penance are aligned with the holy Sacrifice of the Mass which is the re-enactment of the Sacrificial Passion of the Second Person of the Trinity and through His example we plunge ourselves body, mind and soul into the Lenten Season. The Mystery of Lent

Why is it God has been trying to communicate with us in so many ways, primarily through His Word and all He taught passed down through the only Church He established for all men, and we still fail to hear Him?

Editor Michael Cain continues this series, intended to identify one key word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so all can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is Vox, Vocis which is the Latin for "Voice", taken from today's Gospel when we hear the Voice of the Father at the Transfiguration. It is the Voice of Authority Which verifies the divinity of His Divine Son. Cain explains in We need to listen!

The Apostles were afraid during the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mt. Thabor for they did not fully comprehend the impact of this moment in asserting that Christ was the Messias foretold throughout the Old Covenant. Do we truly understand this impact today? Are we still afraid?

Begun last Sunday, we continue with this special feature provided by John Gregory with the Haydock Commentary found at the bottome of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. Today for the Second Sunday of Lent we can see the sage discernment of the Scriptures as provided by such august luminaries as St. John Chrysostom and St. Jerome among others in clarifying the discernment of these verses, especially in the Gospel on the Transfiguration in how this very mystical event would have confirmed to the unbelieving Jews that Christ was indeed the Messias, though Jesus knew their stubborn and perfidious blindness would not allow them to acknowledge Him thus. Thus we present the Haydock Commentary for the Second Sunday of Lent: Seek sanctity and the approval of God in all you do

When a conciliar 'archbishop' states that conciliar Catholics can vote for a lesser evil, it will hopefully wake up Catholics to realize this is pure heresy for no Catholic can, in good conscience, vote for anyone on the ballot who in anyway enables any kind of evil. That would include all participants in this year's election because they all have discarded the moral virtue God demands which begins with uncompromisingly accepting Catholic truth.

You name the political or social movement over the centuries, they all fail miserably as they should for they are not based on the firm foundation of the Rock. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey files another pertinent article to assuage the clamor for candidates who won't mean a hill of beans in the overall scope of bettering America. Rather, the more fractioned this country becomes and the more who demand change for change sake without realizing that real change can only begin in a man's heart with his total acceptance of God's Will as understood through the teachings of the only Church He founded, endorsed and accepts worthy of His worship in the propitiatory Sacrifice of the Mass, the more man is destined to repeat the fatal errors of the past. Only when we learn what is truly important for the salvation of souls, only then will the citizens begin to see progress and less deceit, for those who are not with Christ completely are against Him as our Lord has affirmed. Tom draws on the lessons from history in other movements that are today left in the dust as he goes against the grain of revisionist historians to expose the truth about the freemason presidents of this land and their real agendas and how dangerous it is for Catholics and their own salvation, not to mention the salvation of countless others, to think good came from those movements. Tom reiterates what true reliable Popes proclaimed and provides proof of the fallacies of secular leaders who were definitely anti-Catholic and willing to concede anything to get their way. It's highly doubtful any of them are getting their way today considering their actions while on this earth. The same goes for all the candidates running for president this year. There is not one person who we can vote for in good conscience without compromising our Catholic principles and Faith. Tom wonders when the rest of the citizenry will wake up before this nightmare turns into an everlasting reality as he points out in his column, Movements to a Dead End, Now and for All Eternity

He was bloodied and scourged for our iniquities as the Prophet Isaias foretold. We can help lessen the sting by mortifying our senses, especially during Lent.

John Gregory continues his comprehensive meditation on the Sorrowful Mysteries with the seventh Mystery of the Rosary. Christ has been captured in the dark of the night and still under cover of darkness and deceit, the Sanhedrin plot against the Son of Man. John cites the passages that affirm this and ties in prophesies from the Old Testament Prophets who foretold the very scourging and humiliation that Christ would be subjected to, all for our sins. Yes, it was our sins which lashed His precious flesh and continues today to lacerate anew our Lord's Most Sacred Heart as well as the Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary when we offend God so by our sins, revealing ourselves not as those who would weep and pray for and with Him, but His very executioners. That is a sobering thought which few today are sober enough in the Faith to grasp. John shares his thoughts to meditate on for in the Second Sorrowful Mystery during Lent The Second Sorrowful Mystery: The Scourging at the Pillar

Who the heck was Fr. Isaac Hecker and why the heck are the conciliarists so determined to make him a saint? The answer is to bury what Pope Leo XIII proclaimed and all the true Papal decrees through Pope Pius XII! The hatchet man? None other than "cardinal" Edward Egan who is adept at eliminating things, like reverence and orthodoxy.

Satan loves to ape God and the gorillas in his court are the ideal muggers and murderers to carry out the devil's deeds. Supposedly one of those deeds is to elevate one of the rebels to orthodoxy, one who relished disobedience and novelty as is personified today in the order he founded, after the Redemptorists ruled him unfit, the Paulists. The Paulists today march in lockstep with the Protestant leanings that tortured the Methodist-born Fr. Isaac Thomas Hecker all his life. No miracles mind you, just ramrod him through as one of the "pioneers" of the Modernists. Thus Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey once again pulls from his bag of orthodoxy and truth the encyclical of Pope Leo XIII to Cardinal James Gibbons strongly condemning the heresy of Americanism. A lot of good that did with Gibbons. Guess who was in his employ: yep, one Fr. Isaac Hecker. Heck, he gets around and now the conciliarists, thanks to their mob boss in New York wants to get him to Heaven by getting non-Catholic head in Rome to copy his predecessor and pass them through not because of the candidates holiness as much as to regulize the justification for The Great Apostasy. Of course, we know that is impossible for God to bless, but that doesn't stop those who have little regard for the welfare of souls and more regard for power and prestige with the Talmudic/Masonic sector in carving out their own niche in the New World Order. Tom exposes the charlatans in his revealing essay Continuing to Beatify Their Own

The grace of fortitude is the means by which we can persevere but we can go nowhere if we are standing still in our comfort zones.

For Ember Wednesday Cyndi Cain tweaks consciences a bit in asking hard questions that we all need to consider if we are to make a grace-filled Lent and to survive the distractions and temptations that arise even more when we are endeavoring to do all God asks because satan will intensify his efforts and make it all the more harder to concentrate on the Lenten tasks at hand. Realize that the more we strive, the more the adversary will assault. Too often complacency can set in and many of us become comfortable, too comfortable. We can sit there and smirk that we are safe and secure in our own little parish or catacomb and shy away from the fact that we are called to convert others to the One True Faith through our prayers, penance, example, almsgiving and actively living our Faith at all times. Playing it "safe" is not what God has in mind as Saints Perpetua and Felicitas show us in persevering throughout their martyrdom. It took fortitude for them to stay the course when there was little consolation outside of their immediate fellow Christians awaiting their persecution. It takes fortitude for us to avoid caving to the majority pressure that we should conform to conciliar standards. Not on your life if you value everlasting life. Remember our Lady's words to St. Bernadette, "I can't promise to make you happy in this world, only the next." Could we ask for anything more? Only through the virtue of Fortitude will we be able to persevere as the persecution intensifies as Cyndi explains in this lesson on the virtue of Fortitude, recalling St. Paul's words from 2 Thessalonians 2: 14, "Stand firm and hold the Traditions" through the Grace of Fortitude

The agony that enshrouded souls half a millenium ago has intensified as the Mystical Body of Christ nears its own crucifixion. The steps of this journey to Golgotha are similar to our Lord's in so many ways, including the fact that few stood with Him to the end.

Resurrecting a series that first appeared on these pages six years ago, editor Michael Cain begins a five-part essay on equating the Sorrowful Mysteries of Christ's Passion and Death to the journey of the Mystical Body of Christ from the Protestant Reformation to the present. Throughout the centuries the Barque of Peter has served its true purpose as the Ark of Salvation sailing the dark seas of a world in sin, grievous sin. Nearly 1500 years after Christ established His Church upon the Rock of Peter, many feared the great Barque would be capsized with the broadside attack by the H.M.S. Protestant Reformation. Yet, though her sails were torn asunder, her deck lashed by lies, her hull hammered by heretics, the Papacy's rudder stayed true, keeping the Ark afloat. For all of this our Lord wept bitterly in the Garden of Eden in realizing His Own Mystical Body would experience this same lamentation sparked by the revolt of Martin Luther because His Own chosen ones could not watch one hour with Him. With this landmark era of the sixteenth century, the Mystical Body of Christ was entering her own Passion when churches would be ransacked and stripped barren in iconoclastic furor, when clerics and religious would be hunted and harrassed, even persecuted for standing with Christ, praying with and to Him in one of holy Mother Church's darkest hours. Cain explains in the analogy of the Agony in the Garden: The Deafening Silence of the Lambs Continues

In studying the "Age of Mary" do we really comprehend what Heaven has conveyed? More importantly are we willing to admit it takes sincere humility to be strong enough to curb our own fallen human nature and convert a complacent conciliar community, locally and globally, who seek happiness on earth with no thought to the consequences of the hereafter?

On this 150th Anniversary of the first Apparition of Our Lady at Lourdes Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey relates how the Lady in white has played such a significant role in his life and why every Catholic must heed her message of penance, penance, penance and to persevere when all around us ridicule and mock us. We must keep foremost her message to St. Bernadette Soubirous that we are not in this world to be happy here, but to be happy in the next. That is the basic tenet of the Catholic Catechism and all of the Blessed Mother's approved apparitions are in total alignment with Catholic truth. Tom shows why penance is so necessary to make reparation for our own sins and that of others in expiation for what our sins did to Christ. This is especially vital in these times and during this Lent when God is so forsaken by so many. It is paramount that we pass this message on to our offspring and future generations in keeping the torch of the True Faith alive and so that all generations will call Mary blessed. While the modern church - the counterfeit church of conciliarism - speaks of reconciliation with those who are enemies of Christ by compromising what Christ commanded: conversion, we must reconcile first and foremost with God and do all in our power to perpetuate the Faith and keep foremost in our minds, hearts and souls the Four Last Things so that we can be happy with Him in the next. Our Lady laid that blueprint out so clearly at Lourdes as Tom points out in his special article for the 150th anniversary with Our Lady's own words "Penance! Penance! Penance! Pray to God for Sinners"

When the world is throwing mud at our Lord and our Lady with outrages, blasphemies and sacrileges against the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts and the holy Faith, we can see how Heaven used real mud to effect countless miracles.

Gabriel Garnica weighs in with an interesting take on the lesson we can learn from Lourdes to heal us of our complacency. To the world we can faithfully say "here's mud in your eye" for it was through the holy obedience of a simple peasant girl seemingly making a fool of herself in full view of others who mocked and derided her, that God permitted faith to triumph and since that time in 1858, it has been one miracle after another. Quite a track record for someone so foolish that she listened to Heaven rather than the townsfolk. When the New Order False church is afraid of its own shadow and kowtows to whatever in order to gain human respect at the expense of God's respect, we'd be fools to follow the false shepherds of conciliarism. That's a lesson many should learn if they want to be fools for Christ. If not, they could end up as fools to Christ Who will say, "Depart from Me for I know ye not." Gabriel shares this insight in his piece for the 150th Anniversary of the Apparitions, Lourdes Teaches Us To Be Fools For Christ!

For the First Sunday of Lent we provide his brilliant reflections in two places; one is at the beginning for the Proper of today's Mass at Reflections for the First Sunday of Lent, and the second is an explanation on the history of the Lenten Season. When we see how harsh the discipline was in earlier times we can see why satan has been able to creep in for we have not conditioned our bodies, minds and souls as Christ teaches. Rather we have become soft and vulnerable for satan's wiles. Let us all use this Lenten Season to pump up our spiritual lives by disciplining our temporal senses so that we can stand with Christ on Easter Sunday confident that we have strengthened ourselves in this veil of tears. The whole purpose of this feature is to provide something special so readers can enhance their spiritual lives, appreciate the traditions passed down and apply the principles of what Abbe Gueranger left to posterity in his masterful volumes known as The Liturgical Year. His reflections will hopefully wake many to realizing the treasure of sacrifice, self-mortification and penance in building the spiritual muscle to bulk up the numbers in restoring holy Mother Church to her former glory. The History of Lent

No one is immune to satan's wiles, but the way so many brush him off as if he couldn't harm them, make it all the more likely of leaving the welcome mat out for lucifer's legions.

Editor Michael Cain takes the Latin Verbum and Quotidianum, which mean respectively "Word" and "Daily", and coined the word "VerbumQUO" for the title of this series by contracting quotidianum to quo and running it together as Verbumquo; thus the "Daily Word", as in the sum of the message, the 'quotient', if you will. The VerbumQUO today for the first Sunday of Lent is taken from today's Gospel from St. Matthew 4: 10 for our Lord's command to the fallen angel: Vade, Satana! which is the Latin for "Begone, Satan!" pronounced demonstrably by our Lord to the prince of darkness in dispatching the evil one. Why do we think we're immune to the devil if Christ would subject Himself to His adversary? Cain explains in Give the devil a devil of a time!

The Church has many reasons why she is the only True Church. One of them is because she does not trust in man's interpretation of holy Scripture but rather relies on the inspiration of the Holy Ghost to discern the Word, the meaning of which cannot change or be interpreted but discerned for all by the infallible perennial Magisterium of the Church for all time.

Beginning this week in conjunction with the Epistle and Gospel for the Sunday Mass, John Gregory has compiled the cogent comprehensive Catholic Commentary penned by Father George Leo Haydock that is found at the bottom of each page of the Douay-Rheims Bible. The problem is the typeface is so small that many cannot read the gems contained in these commentaries and miss out on discernments listed by the Fathers and Doctors of the Church as well as many saints and theologians. Now, thanks to John's efforts, we can provide readers with those words republished here in larger type and immediately each respective verse to aid the contemplation of our readers. Today for the First Sunday of Lent we can see the sage discernment of the Epistle as provided by such august luminaries as Sts. John Chrysostom, Augustine, and Thomas Aquinas including a reference to Pope Pius VI who wrote a special letter to the Irish warning them of interpreting by themselves whatever they read in holy Scripture. This is, of course, Protestant and leaves the door open for countless different interpretations which can twist any verse to be whatever they want it to be at the expense of the true meaning discerned through the Holy Ghost by the Magisterium of the Church for all time for the Word of God does not and cannot change or mean something different. Thus we present the Haydock Commentary for the First Sunday of Lent: No one is immune from the devil's temptations

Proof that you have the true Popes solidly anathematizing what the conciliar false popes have postured in peddling pagan, Hegelian, Modernistic ideas well documented in their offences and well documented in their condemnation well before by true Vicars of Christ.

In a follow-up to his article this past Thursday An Act That Speaks For Itself, Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey opines that it is truly unconscionable that there are actually some traditional Catholics trying to spin a rationalization for Ratzinger/Benedict's apostasy. In case anyone would bite on such poison, Tom provides more proof of the abandonment of Catholicity in the counterfeit church of conciliarism, and the very fact Ratzinger's apologists have no answer as to why the rot continues by men he enabled and empowered. That makes it all the more baffling to anyone with an ounce of common sense and moral decency; something gravely and sorely lacking in the lackeys posing as "catholic" "prelates". How dumb and dumbed-down do conciliar catholics have to be, and certain traditional wags in their own blind, prideful stubbornness today not to see the contradictions against the Faith and exactly the "machination of error" that St. Paul preaches in Ephesians about keeping souls safe from being cast by "every wind of doctrine" and the "wickedness of men"? Tom hammers home a point his readers have long been familiar with from Pope Leo XIII's Satis Cognitum on proof that Bene and his Boys "cannot be considered Catholic or call themselves one because, as St. Augustine, affirmed "if any one holds to one single one of these (errors), he is not a Catholic." Tom explains again and again in his article, the title of which should tell you all you need to know: No Lessons Learned After Forty Years of Appeasement and Apostasy

The last shall be first and so it was with Saint Cyril of Alexandria who, once deposed, was invited to represent a Pope at the Council of Ephesus

Today is the Double Feast of Saint Cyril of Alexandria, the holy Bishop and Doctor of Egypt with his See in Alexandria. Saint Cyril was considered the "Defender of Theotokos" - the dogma of Mary as Mother of God. As many bishops in the early centuries, he was used and duped by the Arian prelates, but the Holy Ghost won out and rather than caving to the heretics, this Doctor became one of holy Mother Church's staunchest defenders and presided over the Third Ecumenical Council - the Council of Ephesus. He stood tall when all about him were caving to heresy, mainly because of his sincere unyielding devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoring her as Christ asks us to honor His Mother. Like the Prodigal Son, he repented of having taken part in the persecution of St. John Chrysostom and made amends, joining the voice of the golden voice in condemning Arianism and Nestorianism. In fact, as the Patriarch of Alexandria he effectively squashed the Nestorian heresies. Saint Cyril was made a Doctor of the Church by Pope Leo XIII in 1883 when His Holiness also extended his feast to the universal Church. This holy Doctor of the Church is remembered for all time as the Defender of Theotokos

The political landscape grows bleaker by the day. Another reason why you cannot put your trust in any man not willing to abide fully with God's holy Will.

The announcement that John McCain's closest rival, multimillionaire Mitt Romney, has suspended his campaign for President has left the political landscape barren of any pro-life hope. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey, a political science expert, weighs in with a warning to not be fooled by those posturing that McCain is pro-life or would appoint pro-life judges to the Supreme Court. Just as he evidenced yesterday that Ratzinger has shown clearly that he will not change while trying to dupe several into thinking otherwise and thus stringing them out until they realize it's not a string but a rope around their own necks, so also McCain and his good ol' boys network of cohorts are trolling the idea that McCain is pro-life. Another lie from a group who live by the lie. It is true that McCain is "more pro life" than Hillary or Osama Obama, but that's still choosing the lesser of evils and that is not justified when it comes to rendering to God the things that are God's for unjust laws are no laws at all and we have a moral responsibility to reject and not follow such laws as the holy Doctor and St. Robert Cardinal Bellarmine strongly asserted. It all comes down to the very fact that there is nothing to give Caesar, but to encourage others to cast a vote for the only One Who must and should be head of us temporally and spiritually: Christ as our Sovereign King and Mary as our Immaculate Queen. Tom exposes the fallacies of Robert Dole's defense of McCain in his article Clueless Then, Clueless Now

Aping Apostasy The Anglican experiment is playing all over again in the counterfeit church of conciliarism. It was null and void in Henry VIII's time, in Pope Leo XIII's time and in our time it still is and always will be because it is not Catholic. Also, Tom has an article on the Pew Forum report which reveals that Catholics have the largest number of defections, as if that is any surprise to Traditional Catholics.
