       On behalf of my family, I appreciate the heartfelt prayers from so many readers - via their e-mails - for my father Lowell "Mickey" Cain, 91, who is dying from an incurable cancer which a field of medical experts have not been able to diagnose. He has received Extreme Unction and a special Plenary Indulgence from Father Brendan Hughes and waits and prays for the time when our Lord will call him home. We continue to ask St. Joseph, to whom my dad has always had a special affinity for, to give him a peaceful, happy death. Because everything is in a wait-and-see, watch-and-pray mode, we are posting the next two weeks for this current issue. Again, our gratitude for your prayers and understanding.

    • Making Sense of sensus Catholicus
     We resume this series for, even though Father James Francis Wathen has passed on to his eternal reward, he has left us not only his words of wisdom in Making Sense of sensus Catholicus and his magnificent and irrefutable opus The Great Sacrilege, but has also given us several radio reflections. We are grateful to be able to bring you these pearls of wisdom in continuing with his fourth installment as Fr. Wathen peels away the layers of complication that the world covers everything with in order to deny the simplest, most basic point of life: Why God made us. Father resorts to the first question of the Baltimore Catechism to refute all the great minds that steer us away from the ineffable truth that we are His creations to do as He wills and if we are not willing to cooperate, then we deserve the fate that awaits us. He calls upon the brilliant Father Frederick Faber to bring home this everlasting truth and the audacity of those who think they can go it alone...for they are in for a shock when all is said and done and they pass back into dust. Father Wathen explains in God intends us to have Meaning and Purpose to our life
    Gabriel's Clarion
    Gabriel Garnica In the Epistle for next week's Third Sunday after Easter we read what Saint Peter says in 1 Peter 2: 11, 'I beseech you, as strangers and pilgrims, to refrain yourselves from carnal desires that war against the soul.' It is the surrender to carnal desires that have caused the breaking of hearts today, particularly the Most Sacred and Immaculate Hearts Who weep for those hearts that have been so hardened by divorce from God's Laws and their own spouses. Gabriel Garnica points this out so poignantly in his column pointing out that if they have been unfaithful in the less serious things, we shouldn't be surprised that they have proven to be unfaithful in more serious things even to embracing and promoting the very sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance. We should not be surprised for war is hell and that is what those who discard God's will have made for themselves by holding His sacraments and precepts so lightly. Frankly, Scarlet, they don't give a damn and that's what makes it even more tragic. Gabriel explains in his column Gone With the Whim!
    Treasures of Tradition
     Father Trinchard, esteemed author of the books, "New Mass" Is Conclusively Invalid, Latin Mass Prayers Explained, and Apocalypse of the Mass to mention just a few, continues to provide unmitigated proof that the Novus Ordo church - Newchurch - the conciliar church of Vatican II is a New Religion and therefore cannot possibly be Catholic. His best advice is to run as fast as you can away from this "abomination of desolation" and take harbor aboard the Ark of Salvation, the Roman Catholic Church founded by Christ and kept intact in all her dogmas and doctrines until the wreckovation took full force with Vatican II and its aftermath which rendered the faithful practically impotent to do anything. Now we must for no amount of changes can alter the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church no matter how the masters of deceit pontificate. Yet, so many have been duped into believing the "party lie" that Newchurch is still Catholic! Oh, satan is clever, very clever and because the vast majority of Catholics did not truly know their Faith, they became "useful idiots" to further the insidious and diabolical agenda.     "By their fruits you shall know them"
     We are delighted to bring you the thoughts of Erven E. Park as he has graced us with an article from his acclaimed "The Fruit Inspector Chronicles". This time he picks up on the sound-byte made famous by Army Lt. General Russel Honore that so many are "stuck on stupid" and indeed, as Erven explains, they are just that. Part and parcel of that is because the Verbal and Thought Engineers of Hades have dumbed down the masses and anesthetized their consciences through intimidation where those who take sides have grown timid and fearful of offending man's sensibilities without realizing that they have greatly offended God's sensibilities. It is truly amazing that so many have forgotten that for every action there are consequences. If we have any doubts, just look at the last 25 years how fast AIDS has spread via the perversion of sodomy. Look at the equally passionate effort to cover this up and place blame elsewhere. Look at how absolutes have been sacrificed in order to turn values and virtues upside down by making everything gray and, in the process, greatly incur the wrath of God. Do we really want to become the bile of Babel and Babylon as our Lord has warned in Apocalypse 3:16? If not, then what are we going to do about it? Erven explains in his essay Institutionalized Idiocy "STUCK ON STUPID!"
    Doctors of the Church
    April 21st is the traditional feast of the holy Doctor of the Church and Bishop Saint Anselm who was a crusader against lay investiture, fiercely loyal to Rome and to his vocation as a priest who loved his flocks. They rewarded him by fiercely standing behind him against mighty temporal kings. He was a Frenchman who conquered the Brits with love. He was the father of Scholastic Theology. He was the holy doctor from Piedmont whose writings and teachings became an important barometer for another Doctor of the Church - the angelic doctor St. Thomas Aquinas a little over a century later. St. Anselm was the uncompromising Archbishop of Canterbury in the middle ages who lived 76 years and is known best as the Father of Scholasticism.
    Doctors of the Church
    The holy Doctor of the Church who we celebrate on April 27 was the Dutch-born Jesuit priest who played a key role in the landmark dogmatic and canonical Council of Trent and played a vital role in debating the Protestant heresies throughout Europe, especially gaining the moniker as the "Windmill of Wisdom" while whirling through his native Netherlands and Germany, Austria, Bohemia and Poland. He was a great eloquent preacher sought by prince and pauper alike. He served as mediator between Holy Roman Emperors and Popes. He also founded the University of Fribourg in 1580. One of his most famous works was "Manuel of Catholics" and he is referred to as the "Second Apostle of Germany," giving way only to the great Saint Boniface as the "First Apostle of Germany." Because of his efforts, the counter-reformation was a resounding success in Bavaria. Saint Peter of Canisius was truly the Windmill of Wisdom.
    Doctors of the Church
      The second day of Mary's Month of May is the Feast of the first man honored as a Doctor of the Church. That would be Saint Athanasius, the holy Bishop who withstood the brunt of the greatest apostasy in the Church until this present day when The Great Apostasy has arrived. It is in looking to this holy Doctor that we can take great hope and courage to stay the course and fight for the Faith as he did sixteen centuries ago. It was this stauch defender of Catholic truth, this Alexandrian Bishop who persisted against the Arian heresies through numerous popes. He was banished by emperors and the Arians four times. But in the end the True Faith won out, thanks to the persevereance of men like Saint Athanasius, Apostle of Tradition

       Christ or chaos is the site where Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey has posted some of the most significant articles of our times. There is probably no more prolific writer in the Traditional Catholic Movement today than Tom, whose mission in life is to save souls and to restore the patrimony of the Roman Catholic Church. Few are more dedicated to this cause in not only preaching it, but living what he preaches. If souls can be equated to miles, than we can be most optimistic that the fruits of his labors, the persecution he has endured both within and without the Traditional Movement, and his constant call for what Pope Pius XI called for as the only answer for world peace in Quas Primas - the restoration of the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ. Only by following His Blessed Mother's advice and honoring her as her divine Son honored and obeyed her for 30 years can we hope to attain such a lofty, but necessary goal for the sake of souls everywhere.     Bouquets offered for the first five days of the month
    to Our Lady, the Queen of the May:

     
    On the First Day of Mary's Month of May was the Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, Mary's earthly spouse was the LILY and the designated virtue: PURITY. No flower is more significant in identifying the Foster Father of Jesus and chase Protector of Mary than the holy Joseph whose feast we celebrate and who is the symbol of purity, most always depicted by the pure Lily.

     
    On the second day of Mary's Month of May, a ROSE was presented to represent LOVE OF GOD. No one loves God more than His Blessed Mother Mary who humbly became the Living Tabernacle of the Holy of Holies. Mary is associated with the rose because it is one of the most beautiful flowers of all and her special prayer - the Rosary - is a bouquet of spiritual roses that we can offer her each day for her to take to the Holy Trinity in intercession for us as her Heavenly Mother who loves us so much.

     
    On the third day of Mary's Month of May, the MYOSOTIS was presented to represent THANKSGIVING. This bluebell-like flower is most appropriate for some say it was the only thing that bloomed on Calvary after the Crucifixion of our Lord and Savior. If we should offer thanksgiving for anything, it is for the ultimate Sacrifice of the Cross in which we are saved and which is re-enacted daily in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

     
    On the fourth day of Mary's Month of May, the feast of Saint Monica the bouquet offered were the delicate, colorful PANSIES which represent the virtue of THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN. Few exemplified this virtue better than Saint Monica who spent every hour of her day praying and sacrificing for the conversion of her son Augustine. She constantly had thoughts of Heaven in her mind, heart and soul, praying so wholeheartedly for the spiritual welfare of her son who had gone astray. The pansies of persistence paid off as we know and Monica lived to see her son become a religious. All she had prayed for came true. So also with us if we offer Our Lady our pansies of heavenly thoughts, she will intercede before her divine Son and answer our prayers.

     
    On the fifth day of Mary's Month of May, the feast of the holy Sovereign Pontiff Pope Saint Pius V the flower contributing to the bouquet offered to the Blessed Mother is the MARGUERITE which represents SIMPLICITY so perfect for this holy saintly Shepherd who, through his infallible decree Quo Primum, sought to make worship so simple with the infrangible Mass of all Ages - the Apostolic Latin Holy Sacrifice of the Mass set in stone by the dogmatic Council of Trent and codified by this holy Pope for all posterity. How simple can it be? This is the way it is as St. Pius laid out in following the infallible tenets of Trent, and all one needs do is follow those rules and rubrics. Simple! But it is the devil who complicates things and therein we can see his complicity in Vatican II and how Our Lady has wept so at so many who who have apostacized from her divine Son's Church.

    Living In Tradition
     We continue with the reflections by the wise and holy abbot Dom Prosper Gueranger on the Liturgical Time of the Penitential Season. We have now arrived at the time of Passion Week. Just as the holy Abbot provided the History, Mystery and Practice of Septuagesima and of Lent, so today we provide his reflections on Passiontide as he explains the History, Mystery and Practice of Passiontide. Our Lenten fasting and penance are but two weeks from completion. The incline now becomes much steeper and only those truly committed and contrite will persevere to Calvary. Now is the time to take up the shield of Faith to fend off the devil who will do all he can to distract us from our appointed goal. It means we must intensify our sufferings, self-mortifications and prayers. The more we can compassionate our Lord and His Most Sorrowful and Immaculate Mother, the more we can share in the joy and fruits of the Resurrection and totally disappoint and demoralize the devil. His reflections will hopefully wake many to realizing the treasure of sacrifice, self-mortification and penance in building the spiritual muscle to bulk up the numbers in restoring holy Mother Church to her former glory.     Faithful to Tradition
     John Gregory seeks to sort out a few things in these times of confusion which are due solely to the foretold Great Apostasy, which has ravaged so many souls over the past half of a century. We can thank the hirelings and imposters who have so pitifully milked the faithful out of their Catholic beliefs and faith, not to mention their money. It is inevitable that something not of God will crumble and at the same time, what is of God cannot be destroyed and thus, slowly but surely Catholic truth is once again rising to the surface like fresh cream, nourishing more who are willing to face the truth, willing to make the sacrifice for the sake of their souls. Yet there are still those who stubbornly cling to their own opinions or the fallible opinions of cult leaders whom the people have treated like idols, which only hinders unity within the forces of restoring Catholic truth. John Gregory explains in his column, Who Do We Follow?
    Gabriel's Clarion
    Gabriel Garnica presents an interesting parallel between Groundhog Day and Good Friday that merits contemplation, especially in light of the feast that we celebrated on February 2nd and it's inevitable tie-in to the ultimate Sacrifice on Golgotha and why it's deja vu all over again every year. That is the wisdom of holy Mother Church in repeating the liturgy, prayers and doctrines that sustained souls for two millenniums. None of that would have been possible without Christ's ultimate sacrifice for us. We should always seek to find shelter in the shadow of the cross and find our strength there in the Infallible Supreme Being and eschew once and for all the prognostications of finite beings. The most famous and meaningful life ever, which reaches its apex on Good Friday, began on the feast transferred to Monday, March 26th this year: the Annunciation.     Doctors of the Church
     In honor of today's Double Feast of the holy Doctor of the Church Saint John Damascene, we present a "Gems from the Past" profile from our chronological series on the Doctors of the Church. St. John was the most remarkable of the Greek writers of the 8th century. He stood up strongly to false doctrines and led the defenders of the orthodox Catholic faith against the iconoclast movement of the Byzantine regime. Greatly persecuted by the iconoclast emperors, St. John's own right hand was severed and, in a show to deter those venerating images, the cruel emperor had St. John's hand displayed in the square. But our Blessed Mother intervened and miraculously had it reconnected to St. John's wrist with no signs of scars. He was known as the last of the Greek Fathers and one whom greatly inspired the Angelic Doctor several centuries later - Saint Thomas Aquinas - as well as his words serving as the stop-gap answer for the counter-revolution at the holy Council of Trent. He was the defender of the orthodox Catholic treasure of Faith, the Pourer of Gold.
    Traditional Thoughts
     Editor Michael Cain reprises an article written a several years ago which impresses on readers the importance of the Feast of the Seven Sorrows in Friday of Passion Week as he takes the reader on a journey through Mary's life on earth, identifying each sword mystically piercing Her Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart. He poses the question: Why is Our Lady so sorrowful? Because She is a Mother and She continues to weep because so many do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Her Divine Son. Wouldn't you weep too? Cain illustrates how Our Lady was so perfectly in sync with the Divine Will that without this cooperation many souls might be even more lost considering the ravaging perpetuated by Her Divine Son's Adversary in these trying, troublesome times. We need to heed her strong motherly advice, meld our sorrows with Hers and do as she asks, take our cares, concerns, anxieties, worries and woes and lay them at the foot of the Cross to be washed in His Most Precious, Cleansing Blood.
