Only One Key Opens the Gates of Heaven: Sanctifying Grace

With all the fuss about immigration and national language, lost in the fracas is the most important immigration and language, and that is eternal style for the borders around Heaven can only be opened through love of God and loving Him means obeying Him and His laws and being in the state of grace. When we do that, we have the combination; the key to open the gates of Heaven when God calls us forth. Without sanctifying grace, the border fence is impossible to pass. That is important to remember during this time leading up to Pentecost for the Holy Ghost is the Sanctifier.

"There are no secret trunks to hide in or broken fences to sneak through. The Department of Eternal Immigration has perfect procedures and protocols with its own amnesty and worker program. That amnesty is of course confession of one's sins in order to worthily regain sanctifying grace, and that worker program is the willingness to fight and strive to earn the salvation offered to us as members of the Church Militant by a merciful and loving God Who wants to make us true citizens of Heaven."

Today is the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary and by hailing Our Lady as Queen, it means her divine Son Jesus Christ would have to be King - which He is. The problem is that the world does not recognize Him as such and because of this fact, we have the morose and malaise of today's events. The Da Vinci Code has become yesterday's news with the devastating earthquake in heavily Muslim-populated Indonesia and Monday's most bloody results in Bagdhad since the war began. Meanwhile the lobby for illegal aliens headed by Lost Angeles' 'Cardinal' Roger Mahony are doing their level best to gain amnesty for millions without earning it. Mexico's President Vicente Fox is on record in favoring this and clamoring against building a border fence, while polls of the vast majority of Americans favor erecting a sturdy fence along the entire border if necessary.

Most Americans are not against legal immigration for that is the bulkhead of America's heritage - mostly European - and that is the origin of the Mexicans and South Americans coming across the borders, most to seek a better life. No one faults them for this, but there are many reports that criminals and unwanted elements are deposited near the border and encouraged to flee into the United States. Crime inevitably will rise when these ne'r-do-wells infiltrate society - and they are coming in waves. Aside from the corruption that is so legendary south of the border (though north of the border corruption is catching up both in the judicial system, legislative system, business and relgion), the biggest fear is terrorism with Muslim extremists slipping through with the others. The second concern for many Americans is supporting so many illegals on an already fragile and extended welfare budget with Social Security on life-support. Money that would be going to support those truly deserving and the baby-boomers of the Vietnam era is spread thin funding illegals. And yet, Mahony and his cohorts lobby from the pulpit for this illegal action. Interesting that Mahony was mum on Abortion and Same-sex Marriages as well as Homosexuality, not to mention sex abuse in his own see where officials have been proven he purposely covered up for his priests. Woe to him for the scandal he has caused just as Jesus warned in Matthew 18: 7.

President Bush came out last week strongly indicating all should learn English. Will that mean all Spanish Novus Ordo masses will now have to be in English? Or Vietnamese NO's in English, or...well, you get the picture. Truly, it was so much simpler when all Masses were in Latin. A dead language that, in reality, will never die. Latin also reinforced the concept of Universal Church for no matter in the world one went, they were always at home at Holy Mass; that is until the vulgar language of the vernacular was introduced in 1969 and we had the Tower of Babel all over again. Now we are left to pick up the pieces and they are shattered in thousands of of places and countless souls. That brings me to my point in today's column: All of the talk about illegal immigration and national language leads me to think about the most important kind of immigration and language of all, the Heavenly kind.

There is No Illegal Immigration Into Heaven!

While there may be many ways that people can trespass into this country and then be protected by liberals and others merely looking to amass political currency, there is no way that anyone can illegally enter Heaven without going through the proper channels and by following the proper procedure. That channel and procedure involves following God's Word, Will and plan for salvation as exemplified and taught by Christ Himself as He pointed out in Mark 16: 15-16 to His Apostles: "Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not, shall be condemned." Anything that deviates in any way from that original, true plan and procedure is merely a path to another kind of immigration, not into salvation but into perdition.

Only by following, obeying and respecting the true Catholic Church can any eternal immigrant hope to reach citizenship in Heaven, which is the only citizenship that really matters in the grand eternal scheme. Just as many fools seek to enter this country illegally and then arrogantly demand rights they do not have in the first place, so too many people will attempt to cajole and con their way into Heaven and demand a salvation that they have not earned in word or deed.

No, the border between earth and Heaven is far more airtight than that between this country and Mexico. Heaven has no need of border patrols, walls or legislature to enforce its border, for that border has both been sealed and opened by our Lord's Divine Blood. He is the One Who opened these borders to our unworthy immigration but likewise this opening is not the free-for-all that liberals call their moral filter. It is not a border of rationalizations, excuses, justifications and euphemisms. The only way to pass this border is with true, genuine, sincere, pure love and obedience of God's Will and Word and nothing else. It means one must be in the state of Sanctifying Grace. That means one must not have sin on their soul and be purified in order to be worthy to be admitted to the heavenly climes and behold the Beatific Vision.

There are no secret trunks to hide in or broken fences to sneak through. The Department of Eternal Immigration has perfect procedures and protocols with its own amnesty and worker program. That amnesty is of course confession of one's sins in order to worthily regain sanctifying grace, and that worker program is the willingness to fight and strive to earn the salvation offered to us as members of the Church Militant by a merciful and loving God Who wants to make us true citizens of Heaven.

Only One Eternal Language

While imbeciles debate national language here below, Heaven has only one eternal language, and that is the Language of God given to us by The Eternal Father and applied by Our Lord. Unless we understand and are fluent in that eternal language we cannot hope to find the eternal citizenship described above. There is no bilingual salvation or eternal translation. Either you learn, know and apply the language of God or you do not. This world and society has its own languages of greed, hate, hypocrisy, sin, perversion and self, and one cannot speak the language of Heaven unless one rejects the languages taught by this society.

Perdition is not spoken in Heaven and Salvation is not spoken in Hell. It is as simple as that. Salvation is spoken in Purgatory, but that place is where it is reviewed for those of us who have almost forgotten it. The language of Heaven is always in the future tense because it is about eternal salvation and adoration of God. The language of Hell is always in the present tense because it only cares about the here and now and immediate gratification. The language of Purgatory, while that of salvation, is in the past tense because there we review our past and learn from it until we are pure and ready to face our eternal future of salvation, totally purified of all sin.

Conclusion

While the immigration and national language debates are certainly important to the future of this country, the issues of eternal immigration and eternal language are important to our eternal future. While some may enter this nation illegally and become part of the fabric of this country one way or the other, there is no such illegal, unearned immigration into Heaven. Simply put, salvation will only come to those who can enter Heaven legally and speaking the language of Salvation by following God's will and being in the state of grace. The only purpose of this life is to earn that eternal legality and language so we can immigrate into the destiny that our loving God wants us to have. All of us have an eternal citizenship waiting for us. It is only a question of whether that citizenship will ultimately be in Heaven or Hell. Both legal and illegal aliens have the same choice.
