The Murder of Innocence

Refuges of Safety in the womb, home, workplace and church have dwindled mainly because man has lost the true meaning of Calvary

"Calvary is synonymous with the ultimate sacrifice of pure innocence at the hands of evil, sin, treachery, hypocrisy, and despicable corruption. It is there where the most cruel and vile injustice ever to be inflicted by this world was carried out. It is there where the devil danced for the second time after his initial jig in Eden. Now, this prince of darkness must have calluses on his feet from dancing in all of the new forms of Calvary that have sprung up around us! The womb sees the sacrifice of the most innocent life possible with the flippant arrogance of a haircut and the despicable hypocrisy of twisted euphemisms and empty lies. The home sees the sacrifice of childhood innocence amid the corruption of the media, political forces, and twisted fools who boldly proclaim that they know what a real family is about. The model of The Holy Family has been twisted into the Empty Family where love, respect, and true unity are forever lost amid technology and learned isolation."

Continuing my features for this week when we commiserate the 33rd anniversary of the despicable Roe vs. Wade decision, I want to focus on the mindset that brought this about. If one considers the most vile and destructive examples of evil, sin, vice, and moral decadence rampant in this society, there is little doubt that there can be only one agent coaxing this society, as he did to two naked creatures in Eden, into perdition under the guise of fruition. The devil's modus operandi is and has always been to sell us evil dressed up as good. Just as he told Adam and Eve that the apple would make them like God, he tells us everyday that everything rotting around us is actually a garden of opportunities leading to happiness, success, power, money, and control over one's destiny. Having identified the obvious agent of this evil, we may then ask what is his primary theme, his mantra on the path to this moral destruction.

The answer lies in Calvary, and is repeated in the Calvary that has become every womb, home, school, place of business and even church that at one time were believed to be havens from harm and are now becoming heathen hotels of hypocrisy, hate and hypnosis from the harbinger of eternal perdition. What do all of these places have in common? They have become the altars where innocence is sacrificed to the devil himself!

Former Havens Lost

There was a time when a mother's womb was the closest thing on earth to Heaven. There we all began life encased in the protection and love of our mother's warm embrace. Her life was literally ours, and it was in this haven that we formed a miraculous bond for life with this woman who would carry us into this world fresh from the creative table of God's Love. There was a time when the home was yet another haven from the hate and hypocrisy of this world. Yes, there have always been dysfunctional homes where terror and sin abound but, in one way or another, these twisted homes can be traced to the invasion of the evil from outside infecting what was supposed to be a good place, a place of love. For many of us fortunate enough to come from good homes, the home is the place where we learned to love, to cry, to smile, to play, to pray, and to be decent human beings just trying to do the right thing. Likewise, there was a time when the school was a place where one could learn and grow protected from lies and agendas and embraced by the knowledge that education is a good thing and that good comes from becoming educated while acknowledging a God from which all good things come.

There was a time as well, when the workplace was supposed to be a haven from poverty, from fear, from hopelessness. Yes, there have always been dysfunctional workplaces where injustice and corruption abound but, as in the case with homes, these workplaces are more reflections of the evil of an outside society invading the haven of the workplace than any innate evil found within the workplace itself. Finally, there was a time when the church was supposed to be such a haven from moral and spiritual confusion and despair. It was a place where one could flee to be closer to God and to be set right again on the narrow path to salvation. It was a place where one could be reminded amid the scent of incense, the sight of candles and images, and the sound of beautiful chants that one was in a Place of God. Alas, my dear friends, these havens are lost in an onslaught of hell which has only one objective in mind. That onslaught seeks to turn the womb, the home, the school, the workplace, and the church into a new Calvary where innocence is once again sacrificed at the altar of evil.

The New Calvary

Calvary is synonymous with the ultimate sacrifice of pure innocence at the hands of evil, sin, treachery, hypocrisy, and despicable corruption. The model of The Holy Family has been twisted into the Empty Family where love, respect, and true unity are forever lost amid technology and learned isolation.

As the definition of home and family is increasingly deformed into including anything that hell can devise, the home becomes yet another altar on which innocence is offered to sin. The school sees the sacrifice of innocence and truth as evil envelopes education into indoctrination of sin itself and reshapes morality into arrogance and selfishness. The workplace sees the sacrifice of innocence as corruption and injustice take greater hold than ever. The victims of this workplace sacrifice their dignity, their integrity, and often times their souls in pursuit of coins of false treasures.

Finally, the church becomes the ultimate irony, for the walls that are supposed to protect our souls and nourish our conscience have become yet the most cruel and sinister places of evil and deception. Where the church used to be a stove baking truth and salvation, it has become a cauldron cooking a concoction of confusion and calamity leading us away from Christ and into a new Calvary. Yes, innocence is the ultimate target of the devil, and these places that used to nourish and protect that innocence have become the altars where that innocence is offered as sacrifice to evil and perdition!

Conclusion

It has been said that the devil hates innocence, and that he loves destroying it. Certainly his pattern has been to do just that and obviously sin is both the product and the purveyor of innocence lost. Where there is innocence there is God, and where there is God there can be no evil. Moral imbeciles may proclaim the right to choose evil dressed as virtue. They may praise the expansion of evil into the home, workplace, and church as some sort of progress and enlightenment. However, the devil's plan of expanding Calvary to envelop the whole world will soon result in the greatest and most powerful example of God turning the evil one on his head, for the devil's hope of expanding the murder of innocence of Calvary will turn into an expansion of the ultimate love and salvation of Calvary instead!
