Month of the Sacred Passion
TUESDAY     February 28, 2006      Volume 17, no. 46

We continue the 30-Day Prayer to Saint Joseph in preparation for his feast day, which this year will be March 20th because the normal feast falls on the Third Sunday of Lent. We present this in our devotional series of The Sanity of Sanctity which will run from now until March 20th. In understanding Holy Mother Church's wisdom of the liturgy we bring you our daily feature which endeavors to compact the message of the Daily Proper of the Mass into a quotient of one word - the Latin word - which captures the essence of what the Church is trying to impart. We do so with a feature we call VerbumQUO Editor Michael Cain presents a double-barrel fusilage today: first, the VerbumQUO is libera as in "deliver" for this final day of Septuagesima. Second, Cain takes the reader through the menagerie of the conciliar zoo today with a potpourri of thoughts on how the animals are rummaging the jungle.

    •    Despite a dismal track record that proves there can be no fruit in or with the conciliar church, many traditionalists still actually believe Benedict XVI is going to right the ship. Sadly, they have fallen for the rhetorical rhetoric that says volumes in its ambiguity. With every report we can see the obvious: the modernists of Vatican II are the very ones Christ speaks of in the Gospel for Sexagesima Sunday:

"The seed is the word of God. And they, by the way side, are they that hear ; then the devil cometh, and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing, they should be saved...and that which fell among thorns: are they who have heard, and going their way, are choked with the cares and riches, and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit" (Luke 8: 11-12, 14).

Because the news and rumors ebb and sway with each news report daily, we provide alternate sources above in order to be - to quote a certain network - "fair and balanced" with the various news-sites NovusOrdoWatch.org, Traditio.com, and Angelqueen, as well as the official SSPX site in case they publish anything of landmark importance. We do so as a service in the same manner The Daily Catholic strives to give both sides of the story when it comes to Traditional issues.

One thing we want to caution all sides and that is Christian charity and not to set themselves up as experts. Too many are rushing to judgment on both sides of the coin and what is being forgotten in the equation is prayer, and a reminder not to ever, ever trust the devil. For that reason, we at The Daily Catholic hope the Society is sincere when they say no compromise will be made. The best advice comes from the Epistle of Saint Paul who says:

"I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the living and the dead, by His coming and His kingdom: preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. For there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, and will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. Be thou vigilant, labor in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry. Be sober" (2 Timothy 4: 3-7).

Again we repeat: The whole thing comes down to one constant none of us should ever forget: If you always tell the truth, you're bulletproof. Let us pray for all sides - including the modernist apostates that they will realize the key is the doctrine and disavow Vatican II and all the garbage that came with it. Let us also pray for those such as the SSPX boldly going into the enemy's lair. Before they would ever take the plunge and fall prey to the trap being laid by the conciliarists, listen for the quack because if it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it's most probably a duck. So, as a prayerful caution to the leaders of the Society, watch your head and your backside. In other words: Duck!

For those who may not have been keeping up daily with The Daily Catholic, here's what you just might have missed over the past week. Father Louis Campbell started off Sexagesima Week with a sermon on how the conciliar church has aligned itself with mammon and the World Council of Churches while rejecting the infrangible truths of Catholicism in The Medium and the Message. On Monday Father James F. Wathen shared how we need to plant the seed of truth which has been abandoned by the church of Vatican II and its leaders. It is up to us the laity to spread God's love by blooming where we are planted as he explained in Planting Seeds of Love and Truth. On Tuesday editor Michael Cain began a new daily series called VerbumQUO in which he is bringing readers each day a pertinent word from Sacred Scripture in the Proper of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass which will better help us to focus on why Holy Mother Church, in her wisdom, gave us the set one year beautiful, meaningful and vital liturgical calendar. Why the modern church abandoned this beautiful format should tell us volumes of why there have been no fruits. On Wednesday Gabriel Garnica brought readers the second installment of "Virtue & Vice" with meditation on the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy and John Gregroy provided the third part of his series "The Devil Never Sleeps" with the crux of the problem afflicting those who call themselves Catholic today but stay shackled to the Novus Ordo: Bad Bishops and there are plenty, sadly, to go around!

In keeping with Christ's assurance in Matthew 7: 19 that "Every tree that yieldeth not good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire" the disintegration of the Protestant-Masonic-Pagan man-made church is inevitable. The collapse of this synthetic pan-christian religion spawned from Vatican II, which has usurped the True Roman Catholic Church, is evident from the news reports below, the feature articles to the right, our EyeOpeners highlighting certain news stories, and the realization of what the True Church truly teaches on our CREDO & CULTURE Page, and especially in the infrangible Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the true Liturgy for each day of the Church's liturgical year, which we provide daily for readers with the Ordinary and Proper of each Mass in both Latin and English so Catholics may truly continue to practice their Faith and truly KNOW THE FAITH in order to KEEP THE FAITH! Tried and True! Tridentine True!

  • Catholic PewPOINT
To wrap up Septuagesima in preparation for Lent, editor Michael Cain takes the reader on a tour of the zoo - the conciliar zoo. He points out the peculiarities of the various species who populate their natural habitat that has become unnatural - or, as he puts it, queer. With the death of the 'gorilla' - Archbishop Paul Marcinkus last week - it seems everyone is now aping the devil as the sinuous shadows of sin slither across the face of this earth and sideslap souls into silliness and sinfulness. The syllogism: the queer ones are taking over in both secular and ecclesial zoos. Forget those Mardi Gras beads, grab the real beads: Our Lady's Rosary, and batten down the hatches because the jungle is only going to get queerer. Lent is here and you're going to need it! So put on the armor of God, take up the shield of Faith and stand your ground for the sake of Christ and His holy Church; for the sake of sanity, for the sake of souls! Cain elaborates in his hard-hitting no-holds-barred editorial Life and Death in the Conciliar Zoo

    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain takes the Latin Verbum and Quotidianum, which mean respectively "Word" and "Daily", and coined the word "VerbumQUO" for the title of this series by contracting quotidianum to quo and running it together as Verbumquo; thus the "Daily Word", as in the sum of the message, the 'quotient', if you will. This is intended to identify one key word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so the faithful can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is libera: the Latin verb for "deliver" for were God not to deliver us from evil - sed libera nos a malo as we conclude each Pater Noster, we would perish. The root of the word is liber - "free." From this we also get the word liberty. For it is only through God's deliverance that we have libertas. Cain explains in Practice makes perfect
    The STRAIGHT STUFF
Griff Ruby applies the practice of Holy Mother Church over the centuries in coaxing converts back into the Church. There is no hurry for they must want to not only come back of their own volition, but willingly agree to adhere to all the laws and customs of Catholicism. That is why seldom, as Griff explains, are there wholesale conversions but at least there were conversions. Today conversion by proseltyzing the True Faith is looked upon by the modernist conciliar church as intimidating and oppressive and we must be tolerant. Considering the fact that the church of Vatican II has veered so far away from Catholic truth and practice, Griff advises Bishop Bernard Fellay to heed the advice of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and slow down, don't be in a hurry to be seduced by the concessions that still have not been manifested. The Society and all other Traditional Bishops have the Faith, they have the True Mass and Sacraments; the conciliar church does not. Let them come when they are desperate and will agree to heed all Catholic truth and abandon once and for all the fruitless Vatican II agenda. Until then, take time to pray for them, but don't rush in at their every bidding. Wait them out is Griff's wise advice in his column Personal and Corporate Return to the Church
It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is Oculus: the Latin noun for "Eye". Yesterday we focused "to see" videre, today we focus with the organ that allows us to visualize: the eye. Cain applies it to today's Proper for St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin in Windows of the soul
It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is ut videam: the Latin preposition for "that" with the root word "to see" - videre which is found in today's Gospel: "Lord, that I may see" - "Domine, ut videam." Cain asks the reader to truly see in Ohhhh say can you see?
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for Quinquagesima Sunday, he notes how man today refuses to put away the things of a child and become men of Faith. They fail to anticipate seeing God face to face and remain behind their comfort zone of the dark glass where they can hide their lukewarmness and wonton nature to do what they want. This has given, as Father points out, the rise of paganism as the "fastest growing religion in the United States." Talk about a scary scenario, no wonder they are doing all they can to eliminate Christ and Christian symbols from public places and legislate anti-Catholic hate crimes that will enable the devil to do what he likes. One could despair were it not for the charity of God and the charity we need to express to others in caring about the spiritual welfare of their souls. God has given us a most powerful archangel, His right hand man St. Michael to defend us in our battle here on earth against the wickedness and snares of the devil. He shares the prophetic poem of G. K. Chesterton to encourage us that the Word can never be broken, never be conquered for God will win out. When the dawn breaks will we be with satan and the vanquished or on the victorious side with Saint Michael and God's army of angels and saints? Father helps us answer that in his sermon. Michael of the Morning
    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain continues this new series introduced Tuesday in an effort to identify one word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so the faithful can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. Taking the Latin Verbum and Quotidianum, which mean respectively "Word" and "Daily", we have coined the word "VerbumQUO" for the title of this series by contracting quotidianum to quo and running it together as Verbumquo; thus the "Daily Word", as in the sum of the message, the 'quotient', if you will. It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. The VerbumQUO today is Salve: the Latin word for "Hail" which is taken from the Sedelius in the Introit of today's Mass for Our Lady's Saturday. Cain shares the significance in Hail, Holy Queen

The VerbumQUO today is confortatus: the Latin word for "strengthened" which is taken from the Introit and Gradual for the Mass of Saint Matthias today because the Church was strengthened with the addition of this humble soul to the ranks of the original Apostles. Cain explains in The Sweet Yoke of Strength
    Faithful to Tradition
With Lent just around the corner and Benedict XVI's first consistory just announced, John Gregory resumes his series on deciphering what is Catholic and what is not Catholic today. To those who truly know the Faith, it should be only too obvious. Sadly, due to the fact so many do not, they are blinded by the secular spin. Who is at fault? It has to be the leaders of the conciliar church - the bishops whether they wear white, cardinal red or purple, they are the ones who have fouled the air and have been such a joy to the devil in leading countless souls to perdition. John illustrates only too well that to not speak out against the scandals and expose the charlatans in ecclesial colors, is to condone and help the devil and make us accountable for them when we stand before the Almighty because of our lukewarmness in the face of evil. John points out that true charity is speaking the truth in order to rid dioceses and the modern Vatican of these wolves in shepherds' clothing who are leading so many souls astray for one reason and one reason only: Because they are Bad Bishops as he explains in Part Three of his series The Devil Never Sleeps.
    The VerbumQUO
Editor Michael Cain continues a new series introduced yesterday in an effort to identify one word and sum up that word to help the faithful focus on the message Holy Mother Church conveys so the faithful can better understand the magnificent correlation of Sacred Scripture in the Daily Proper of the Mass. The VerbumQUO today is Ecclesiae: the Latin word for "of the Church" which is taken from the Introit and the Epistle for the Mass of a holy Doctor of the Church. It is indeed in the midst "of the Church" that we are nourished and grow in grace, weaned by our holy Mother Church as Cain explains in Return to the bosom of your true Mother
    Doctors of the Church
In honor of the Double Feast of the holy Bishop Saint Peter Damian, we present a "Gems from the Past" feature on this holy Doctor of the Church who lived during the reign of sixteen pontiffs - some antipopes, no less. He was the first Doctor in over three centuries - a time when the Church sank into laxity and corruption, especially in the disciplines and simony was rampant. It was truly the "Dark Ages" and into this darkness God sent a guiding light to reform His Holy Church early in the second millennium. This holy monk counseled seven popes. He was the first Doctor to be made a cardinal. St. Peter Damian was truly Saint Peter Damian.

It is also our hope that in choosing the Latin word with its meaning and etimology more will be attuned to hearing Latin read at the altar and better comprehend the beauty of the Mother tongue. Cain poses as the word Petram as the VerbumQUO of the day. It is the Latin word for "Peter" or "Rock." Upon this is build the rock-solid truths and traditions of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church - the ONLY Church Jesus Christ consecrated. Today's VerbumQUO says it all as Cain points out in Rock of All Ages
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica continues his series on Virtue and Vice begun this past Saturday. Today he presents the second part in which he concentrates on a new angle on Social Justice: True Social Justice as Catholic Truth. No ambiguities when no-nonsense Catholic absolutes are applied and no confusion when it is pointed out that today's 'peace and justice' agenda of the New Order church are not only anti-Catholic but communistic and the antipathy of what Holy Mother Church has always taught. Only by looking at this and responding through a Catholic perspective can we separate the wheat from the chaff and clearly see what the Church, in her wisdom, prescribed for the members of the Mystical Body of Christ in order to increase members of the body. Gabriel identifies all seven of The Corporal Works of Mercy

Cain begins with the word periculis as the VerbumQUO of the day. It is the Latin word for "perils" or "dangers." This is something St. Paul faced all too often in his missionary work. But armed with the armor of God and willingly, even joyously, carrying his cross through it all, he emerged victorious for Christ with a heavenly crown. How can we not emulate that kind of ideal? Cain explains in Your cross! Don't leave home without it!
    Making Sense of Sensus Catholicus
Father James F. Wathen, the pioneering traditional author of The Great Sacrilege, both looks back at the theme of St. Valentine's Day and the Gospel for Septuagesima as well as the Gospel for Sexagesima Week in showing what love truly is - the Word of God and how we, as Christ's instruments plant the seed and allow these seeds to bloom wherever we plant them. Father consoles the traditional Catholic who has been abandoned by friend, family and foe because of their love for Christ and His unadulterated Truths which cannot change. Father points out that He is the God of consolation, and not to seek the consolations of God in this life for He will reward us for whatever we do. Father remarks that in planting the seed to do just that and not to force it or bruise the fruit; after all we are not "closing a deal" but setting the table, if you will for the Holy Ghost to take over. He explains in his essay on Matthew 10: 34-42 in sharing the seed - the Word of God - in Planting the seeds of Love and Truth
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for Sexagesima Sunday, he points out that the actions being taken by the conciliar church, most notably Benedict XVI and one of his leading heretics Walter Kasper, are the very example of what Our Lord speaks of in today's Gospel wherein "the devil cometh and taketh the word out of their heart" for that is what has happened to the hierarchy and subsequently those who have blindly followed them toward perdition over the past 40 plus years. They have abandoned the good seed and fertile ground because they have forsaken the roots of the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. They have fallen by the wayside and taken up with those sects founded by men who were apostates, including all the Protestant heretics whose leaders are encamped in the hopeless World Council of Churches to which Ratzinger and Kasper have given their blessings because, as Jesus affirms in Luke 8, they "are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit." Father documents this very fact by showing that the words and actions are a direct contradiction to what Holy Mother Church has always taught and so clearly defined by Pope Pius XI in his encyclical condemning false ecumenism which is what the WWC is. In fact, their new logo embodies the subliminal spirit of satan with the form of a snake at the bottom of a letter that depicts a 'Z'. What could the Z stand for but for Zionism for the Masonic Zionist agenda has been fully embraced as the message of the newchurch. Welcome, indeed, to the lair of the devil, so blatantly obvious in The Medium and the Message
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica begins today a series on Virtue and Vice with the first part establishing the very fact that nothing, absolutely nothing trumps the Ten Commandments of God. In this time of mass confusion where even the elect have been so deceived, the devil will try to twist anything and everything, one must always go back to basics and there is nothing more basic than the Ten Commandments. God said it, that settles it. Yet, so many gamble on thinking they have a better idea. The problem is, man, in his fallen human nature, keeps betting against God and His House - His holy Church; not a good idea because those who have done so always lose not only their shirt, but their soul as well. The result is always the same: spiritual bankruptcy. No matter how one calculates it, as Gabriel explains Ten Beats Seven Every Time
    Miters that Matters
In order to clarify what is exactly going on between the SSPX and modern Rome, it is wise to review the history of the modernists in dealing with the Society and so we publish an article written by His Excellency Bishop Donald J. Sanborn twelve years ago which pinpoints the same modus operandi by the modernists and the Society in this round. He foretold then exactly what would happen today and he has history on his side. Speaking of history, he uses the analogy of the revenge of the Phillistines (modernists) versus the Israelites (true Catholics = traditionalists and the SSPX) to bring home his point all the more forcefully in reminding all that if we don't learn from history we will be doomed to repeat it. Is the Society doing just that? Read this published at traditionalmass.org to see what His Excellency knows from first hand experience for he was there on the ground floor with Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in the early days. He explains in his article The Moutains of Gelboe
    Faithful To Tradition
John Gregory completes his comprehensive meditation on the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary today on the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple. It is the last time we hear anything from Jesus or Mary until His public life. That is 18 years of silence of the Holy Family's private life. In this mystery John illustrate how the passage of Luke 2: 42-52 gives us a hint of what Mary might have "pondered in her heart" during all that time in Nazareth. He also provides insight to a mother's heart and the volumes told in the first words by our Lord recorded in Sacred Scripture that laid the groundwork for what He was about to do: His Father's business. John shares meditative thoughts on this interesting Mystery in The Fifth Joyful Mystery: The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple
    Gabriel's Clarion
During this Time of Septuagesima, Gabriel Garnica helps prepare us for the coming Lenten season by tweaking our consciences on how much we seek comfort and turn our backs on our crosses that we should willingly carry in order to be Christ's disciples. Often times we can be blinded to this and use this as a convenient excuse to stay put in whatever comfort zone has become familiar to us. Are we afraid to step out and see with the eyes of Faith. We can only do this by conditioning ourselves to reject comfort and get with the program of the spiritual boot camp of penance, self-sacrifice and self-denial and a steady life of prayer. Exercising our spiritual life will better enable us to be in harmony with the will of God and then, only then, will we be able to see clearly through the Eyes of Christ. Gabriel explains in his column "According to Your Faith..."

PAPAL PROOF OF WHAT THE CHURCH TRULY TEACHES
For those who truly want to delve deeper into what the Faith teaches and what past Sovereign Pontiffs have decreed, we recommend for your vital reading to better KNOW THE FAITH in order to KEEP THE FAITH, pertinent Papal decrees which put to the lie what is being promulgated today by the Vatican II church. When it comes to all these ungodly laws being passed by liberal judges because of the lobbying and intimidation of a small minority out to do away with the natural and supernatural order, it is wise to keep in mind the following:

We invite you to find out for yourself the truth as we present a compendium portal of documents on the Faith in all aspects, past, present and to come. We guarantee what you read is in full harmony with the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church, and we guarantee you that if you read it all with a discerning heart you will be able to decipher the wheat from the chaff. You will better understand what the absolutes of our Faith are and not be fooled by modernism and ambiguities, no matter how cleverly they are couched. Remember satan is the father of half-truths. Read the fullness of the Truths and Traditions of the Roman Catholic Faith in the sections below.
