MEDITATION BEFORE HOLY MASS
In these days when the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass - the Ancient Mass of the Ages - the propitiatory sacrifice as forever established by the infallible, dogmatic Council of Trent and codified by Pope Saint Pius V in his infallible Papal decree Quo Primum to be said in Latin "in perpetuity" - is not readily available (especially on a daily basis) for the vast majority of Authentic Roman Catholics, we have endeavored to provide our readers with the full context of the Ordinary of the Holy Mass in both Latin and English in case you do not have an authorized Latin Missal.
Those who recognize that the Novus Ordo is the fulfillment of what Our Lord warned of in Matthew 24: 15-16 "When therefore, you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel, the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand" (see Father James F. Wathen's irrefutable masterpiece THE GREAT SACRILEGE), realize they can no longer attend the pagan, Modernist and Masonic rite instituted by Paul VI on April 3, 1969 as one of the bitter 'fruits' of Vatican II which has further been purged of the true aspects and necessary ingredients of the True Mass by his successors John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Therefore, the advice from countless saints, Doctors of the Church, and true priests today is to stay home when you are not able to attend the True Latin Mass, and say the daily ROSARY and then pray the Mass prayers and, if possible the Proper of the Mass of the day. Up to now, for those without a Latin Missal that has not been possible. Now, in the spirit and exemplication of the monks of old who meticulously inked the Sacred Scriptures and Church doctrines on parchment in passing down the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church, we have accepted the ambitious project to provide not only the full ORDINARY OF THE HOLY MASS, but provide in both Latin and English the PROPER OF THE HOLY MASS for each and every day. It is a massive project, but truly a labor of love that we hope and pray will bear great fruit in the renewal of Christ's Mystical Bride, so assaulted over the past 40 years.
There are many exercises, methods and acts of piety we can do throughout the day: morning and evening prayers, grace before and after meals, visits to the Blessed Sacrament, prayer of Our Lady's Holy Rosary, the Way of the Cross, meditations on the Mysteries, the Way of the Cross, spiritual reading, meditation on the lives of the saints which we also will endeavor to provide, and daily the Acts of Faith, Hope, and Charity as well as a daily Act of Contrition. One can also, if time and schedule permit, say all or part of the Divine Office or the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We are also encouraged to practice self-denial in forging our wills to the Divine Will whereby we are more able to pray more fervently. This will make us more readily open to living a virtuous life and practicing the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.
All these are good, all these are praiseworthy, but let us never forget that the best act of piety, the most excellent and the most salutary, is the act instituted by Christ Himself, the act which He has said: "Do this in remembrance of Me... vis., the Holy Mass with subsequence Holy Communion. The late great Pope Saint Pius X has put in these few words:"Don't pray at Holy Mass, but pray the Holy Mass."
Explaining himself further, His Holiness set forth: "The Holy Mass is a prayer itself, even the highest prayer that exists. It is the Sacrifice, dedicated by our Redeemer at the Cross, and repeated every day on the altar. If you wish to hear Mass as it should be heard, you must follow with eye, heart and mouth all that happens at the altar. Further, you must pray with the priest the holy words said by him in the Name of Christ and which Christ says by him. You have to associate your heart with the holy feelings which are contained in these words and in this manner you ought to follow all that happens at the altar. When acting in this way, you have prayed Holy Mass."
While we all wish to be present in a church which offers exclusively the Mass of All Ages, this as we all sadly know is not possible in these times of darkness when the True Mass can only be found in a very few communities and in the catacomb chapels under the skeptical, accusing eye of the New Order bishops. Therefore you are strongly advised to set aside in your home a quiet chapel-like area where you can retreat and either alone or with family members or other members of your community, pray as St. Pius affirms. In the Orient for centuries the Faith survived when there were no priests. So also in these times when, like the great Arian heresy, the overwhelming majority of the bishops and priests have sold out Christ's True Church and the True Mass out of blind obedience, we must endeavor to do all we can to keep the fires of the True Faith and its traditions alive. Therefore we provide this compendium of authorized prayers of the Mass and the Proper of each day with the holy readings. We also provide acts of Spiritual Communion composed by Saints which will better unite us with Christ in spiritually receiving His Body and Blood when we cannot physically be present to receive the Sacred Sacrament on our tongues.
INDULGENCED PRAYER TO BE SAID AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MASS
Eternal Father, I unite myself with the intentions and affections of our Lady of Sorrows on Calvary, and I offer Thee the Sacrifice which Thy beloved Son Jesus made of Himself on the Cross and which He now renews on this holy altar: 1. To adore Thee and give Thee the honor which is due Thee, confessing Thy supreme dominion over all things, and the absolute dependence of everything upon Thee, Who art our one and last End.
2. To thank Thee for innumerable benefits received.
3. To appease Thy justice, aroused against us by so many sins, and to make satisfaction for them.
4. To implore grace and mercy for myself, for my loved ones, for my friends and enemies, and for all afflicted and sorrowing, for poor sinners, for all the world, and for the holy souls in Purgatory. (1575 - 20, Raccolta)
