On this Double Feast of Saint Stanislaus Kosta, Bishop and Martyr and First Saturday in Mary's Month of May, let us continue to pray daily the Leonine Prayer said at the end of every Latin Low Mass:
Let us pray. O God, our refuge and our strength, look down in mercy on Thy people who cry to Thee; and by the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary Mother of God, of St. Joseph her spouse, of Thy blessed apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the saints, in mercy and goodness hear our prayers for the conversion of sinners, and for the freedom and exaltation of our Holy Mother Church. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sad News out of New York...

On the First Friday of the Month of Mary's May, May 6, the great pioneer of Tradition Reverend Doctor Gommar A. DePauw passed from this earth. His trials and tribulations, his battle against the false church at an end. Well, done, good and faithful servant. We offer our prayers and Holy Masses for the repose of the soul of this warrior for Our Lord and Our Lady, who following in the footsteps of the saints and Doctors of the Church, sought out the narrow path. That path leads to Heaven and we pray today he is in the presence of the Beatific Vision.

We are saddened and the lesser by his passing. The Traditional Movement has lost a true giant, a true noble pioneer who forged the path for all those who followed. It is time to mourn and pray for the soul of a loyal priest of God. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Born one year after the Fatima apparitions in Portugal, this Belgium-born soldier of Christ lived all his life the true message Our Lady imparted at the Cova. His chapel was named in her honor - Ave Maria. Tradition has truly lost a titan of the traditional movement. We mourn but will not be deterred. He has passed the baton and now the task rests with those resisting the revolution. Onward, Catholic soldiers. There is a war to win!

Though there will be many tributes forthcoming to this founder of the Catholic Traditional Movement in 1963, we refer you to the tribute we prepared for our Tower of Trent Tribute this last May 25th in honoring Father DePauw, one of the charter 15 members of the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor.

    See Father Gommar A. DePauw.
Taken from the Offertory for the Requiem Mass
Domine Jesu Christe, Rex gloriae, libera animas omnium fidelium defunctorum de poenis inferni et de profundo lacu: libera eas de ore leonis, ne absorbeat eas tartarus, ne cadant in obscurum: sed signifer sanctus Michael repraesenter eas in lucem sanctam: * Quam olim Abrahae promisisti, et semini ejus.
O Lord Jesus Christ, King of glory, deliver the souls of all the faithful departed from the pains of hell and from the deep pit: deliver them from the lion's mouth, that hell may not swallow them up, and may they not fall into darkness; may Thy holy standard-bearer Michael, lead them into the holy light; * which Thou didst promise to Abraham and to his seed.

Let Benedict XVI know what he must do to return to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church at

In a show of "openness," Benedict XVI is encouraging Catholics to e-mail him and this is your chance to remind him of the Catholic truths that have been abandoned by the church of Vatican II and also the fact that the Immemorial Mass of All Ages - the Traditional Latin Mass said from Peter through Pius XII is at the heart of reform in rebuilding Christ's Church. He can be another St. Benedict in uncompromisingly converting souls to the Faith or he can be a Benedict Arnold in betraying Christ and the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Faith. Here's your chance to speak directly with the new pope. Pounce on it by e-mailing him at benedictxvi@vatican.va

One way to contact him directly is to either send a copy of the Open Letter from Michael Matt and Christopher Ferrara below or reinforce certain points they have brought up. Either way, if you remain silent, you have no one to blame but yourself when God asks "What did you do to rebuild My Church?" Again, we can't reiterate strongly enough: Countless souls are at stake!

There are several sources we strongly encourage you to follow so that one can get a true picture of what the traditions should be during this time of transition and questions. One is the regular news wire we carry below from a Traditional Catholic perspective from AngelQueen.org. In the face of so much fawning and false information from the secular media and even the Novus Ordo media, Fr. Moderator's daily commentaries are a must to understand what is really going on. We encourage you to go to Traditio.com for he is usually on top of whatever event has come down the pike and calls them pretty much as we see them here at The Daily Catholic in striving to uphold and preserve the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church as part of the Resistance to the Revolution of Vatican II, especially during this time when so much misinformation is flooding into homes as fact and the Novus Ordo mentality and novelties will be ingrained in so many. The third source is a very good site providing a plethora of information on the traditional practices. It is the Kensman Catholic Site.

Like Fox News, The Daily Catholic seeks to provide a fair and balanced perspective on modern Rome always from a Traditional point of view. There are traditional Catholics who believe Ratzinger is a legitimate successor of St. Peter. Their views need to be heard. There are also traditional Catholics who believe he is not a true Pope in light of the heresies of Vatican II and his own complicity in the conciliar church, and have documented such. Their views also definitely need to be heard. Therefore, The Daily Catholic from this point on will provide both views for the discernment of readers for these are very, very critical times - indeed, a time of epikea - the likes of which have never afflicted the Church as it is today. We are all fighting a common enemy and need to be united as Traditional Catholics. We are the Church Militant and in all charity, need to speak out when wrong is being done. The Church is not above Christ. The greatest criteria for our own salvation is being fully Catholic in every way. That means not veering one iota from what Holy Mother Church has always taught. Not one iota! We must cling to the Faith handed down by the Apostles in Divine Revelation and Divine Tradition, reinforced and codified, often with the power of perpetuity by popes, many holy ones, down through the ages. When those infrangible truths are tampered with, we will not stand still and let the marauders have their way. The Church is not a democracy, does not sway with political correctness, polls, public opinion or the times. True authentic Catholics will always confront the barbarians both at the gate and inside the gate, having as their allies our Lord Jesus Christ, His most Blessed Mother, the Primacy of Peter, and all His angels and His saints.

Christopher FerraraMichael MattThe Remnant's Christopher Ferrara and Michael Matt Implore Benedict XVI to Do the Right Thing
In the aftermath of their personal coverage in Rome during the conclave, Remnant editor Michael Matt and columnist Christopher Ferrara weigh in with an Open Letter imploring Joseph Ratzinger, now Benedict XVI to alter the course of history and turn away from the destructive path of Vatican II and return to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. They express how many times they had hoped previous conciliar popes were going to do the same only to disappoint greatly. Can Benedict XVI make a difference? Time will tell, but they respectfully lay out the problems and the solutions, magnificently researched, and use the very words Ratzinger as a cardinal expressed in pleading with him to back up what he has said. Will it work? Time will tell, but they have presented an excellent argument that puts the ball squarely in Benedict's court. If he does not respond, does not exhibit the sensitivity he himself expressed, we will know it is all smoke and mirrors. Though lengthy, it is an excellent argument for Tradition in persuading him to abandon the novelties of the Novus Ordo, Ecumenism and Dialogue. They detail it all in their An Open Letter From Traditional Catholics

Christ cannot deceive nor be deceived. What about Benedict XVI?
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey is concerned that some Catholics devoted to the restoration of the Traditional Latin Mass are irresponsibly dismissing the written work of the former Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, now His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, as indicative of "weaknesses" from which we all suffer at one time or another. The truth of the matter, however, is quite the contrary. His Holiness's past writings exhibit a manifest and a profound and an abiding rejection of the perennial Social Teaching of the Catholic Church as expressed clearly by Popes from Blessed Pius IX through Pius XI (1846-1939). We need to pray for our Holy Father. It is wrong, though, to dismiss his past work as an unimportant indicator of his philosophical and theological predilections. He explains in his essay One Way or the Other

Folks, find the coat of arms below that's different than all the rest. Bingo!

      Pius XII

      John XXIII

      Paul VI

      John Paul I

      John Paul II

No Tiara for Benedict XVI. Protestants will love it. True Catholics can see the writing on the wall.
"And the prophecy of Isaias is fulfilled in them, who saith: By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive. For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears they have been dull of hearing, and their eyes they have shut: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them" (Matthew 13: 14-15).

Benedict XVI Breaks with Tradition, Tiara trashed for Modernist Miter

Signs of Benedict XVI returning the conciliar church to the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church took a severe blow yesterday with the revealing of his papal coat of arms, or at least they call it a "papal" coat of arms, but the one symbol used by Popes for centuries and synonymous with the Triple Reign or Triregnos has always been the Papal Tiara. Every man since Pope Clement V in the early 1300's who has occupied the Chair has exhibited the tiara in some way on his official coat of arms. But we should have seen it coming when Paul VI sold his off, John Paul I refused the Papal Coronation or to wear the tiara even though his coat of arms was so traditional. Do you think if John Paul I had the opportunity he'd not do it differently and totally adhere to tradition? And the same for John Paul II who followed suit with ignoring the Papal Coronation, the Solemn Pontifical Oath and the tiara, though he had a semblance of it with sharp streamlined spikes on his coat of arms. But Benedict XVI has scrapped all of those traditions: no Papal Coronation, no Pontifical Oath, no tiara on his head or his coat of arms! Instead we see a modernized miter which gives little evidence of Catholicity in its design though the pallium at the bottom is a "we tried, but couldn't convey any papal identification" effort. It was designed by Italian Archbishop Andrea Cordero Lanza who stated, "Benedict XVI has chosen a coat of arms that is rich in symbolism and meaning, so as to put his personality and his papacy in the hands of history." Montezemolo is said to be an expert on heraldry who created Benedict XVI's new insignia. He added, "for at least the past eight centuries, popes have had their own personal coats of arms in addition to the symbols of the Apostolic See." He failed to say that for those past eight centuries the papal tiara was an essential element in those coats of arms. Not so Benedict XVI. What does this portend? Not good, folks. Definitely not good!

Amazing Accuracy of Robert Hugh Benson's 1907 Prophecies
Some 15 years after Pope Leo XIII had a vision in which he saw the See of Peter usurped, the Pastor struck and the sheep scattered, a fellow named Robert Hugh Benson published his book "Lord of the World" tying in all Leo foresaw. Yet most of us have had to let history play out before we can see the connection which is so evident today. While history has proven Leo was right, as was Our Lady at La Salette and Fatima, Benson was, way back at the beginning of the 20th Century, putting together with amazing accuracy the pieces of a dangerous puzzle that today isn't so puzzling anymore but is much, much more dangerous. Dennis Cuddy ties it together with the election of the new pope Benedict XVI and how the "new world order" will fare in the battle between ideologies. Now, nearly a century later, the future is now. "Lord of the World"
The Society was not always as enamored with Ratzinger as they are today
Considering Bishop Bernard Fellay's patronizing letter of congratulations to Benedict XVI, one has to look at what their stance really is considering what the Society published and held to eleven years ago. It gives one cause to pause and ask if Joseph Ratzinger pope will be any better than Joseph Ratzinger cardinal. After all, he was head of protecting the faith and he failed miserably as the SSPX themselves document in a 1994 essay from Si, si, no, no in Cardinal Ratzinger: A Prefect without faith at the Congregation for the Faith
Why would the Reds now be willing to talk things over with NewVatican?
What is it that Benedict XVI can bring to the table that John Paul II couldn't? Is it that the Ruskies favor a German over a Pole? Highly unlikely considering the bitter animosity from two world wars. No, it could seem to have more with a resignation by all parties that a one world order is inevitable. Dr. Robert Moynihan of Inside The Vatican seems to think something's in the works from his own observations and contacts. He's verified that Benedict so far hasn't needed a scriptwriter, he's writing his own sermons. That of itself is refreshing in a way. Moynihan files his report in the most recent newsflash out of the Inside The Vatican staff with the titled question: Thaw in Moscow?
Did Michael Davies know something about Ratzinger's future?
Michael Matt divulges something few knew and that is that the late Michael Davies told him that Joseph Ratzinger would eventually play a most important role in returning the Latin Mass. It is a stunning revelation given that since being elected Benedict XVI has done nothing but condone the same agenda John Paul II promoted, deviating from the True Faith in embracing ecumenism, modernism and humanism. With Matt we can only hope and pray that Michael Davies knew something no one else did and that Benedict XVI will turn modern Rome back to Eternal Rome for the greater honor and glory of God. The editor of The Remnant explains in his report Thoughts on the Day After: A Possible Michael Davies Connection
Are we worthy of a pope who will restore Tradition without compromise?
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey weighs in with his fears, but hopes as well in his column in which he entreats all to pray for Benedict XVI who to this point has made no indication he is going to change anything. In that Tom shows the problems still existing and until there is a full commitment toward correcting the grave errors, who knows what to think or expect except that the status quo remains the same and we're back to square one. Considering all the infighting within the traditional movement and the lukewarm hearts, not to mention the hardened hearts, he asks: "Our long journey in the catacombs thus continues, raising the following question: Are we truly worthy of a pope who will restore Tradition without compromise?" He explains in Pray Very Hard for Pope Benedict XVI
Can an old dog learn new tricks - or rather reapply solid doctrine?
Father Francesco Ricossa documents big time problems with Benedict XVI whose 1993 document portends to all pieces now being in place for the one-world religion, hence a one-world order which is the antithesis of what Christ intended for His Church as He charged in Matthew 28: 21 and Mark 16: 15-16. Ratzinger has often been referred by some as "God's Rottweiler" but for such a canine cardinal, now pope, to truly be in God's court and be a good "German Shepherd" he would need to uphold and promulgate the unadulterated Catholic Faith without exception, without compromise and not veer one iota. Sadly, as Fr. Ricossa documents, he has consistently deviated far from the straight and narrow path, embracing the wide one strewn with roses called ecumenism. He explains in his article Benedict XVI’s 1993 program for a one-world ecumenical church
What are Catholics to think of Ratzinger's Counter-Syllabus of Errors?
Father Donald Sanborn provides documentation that the conciliar document Dominus Jesus does not reaffirm that the Catholic Church is the "unique means of salvation," but rather more ecumenical mumbo-jumbo that was solidly condemned by previous reliable pontiffs. It was Benedict XVI himself who said it was a "Counter-Syllabus of Errors" which should have alerted every Catholic that it was NOT Catholic. It was Ratzinger who pushed for "subsists in" rather than "IS" in Lumen Gentium wherein the conciliar church broke away from the True Church of Rome. Father Sanborn points out the problems in his essay Ratzinger's Dominus Jesus: A Critical Analysis

    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica continues his series on the Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA. Today he expands on the first situation he posed in Part Three on Technology and Choice. Nowhere is technology more advanced than the amazing 4D ultrasound. The sonogram can be the boon for the sanctity of life and a death-knell for the pro-aborts. Gabriel shows how those who perniciously continue the culture of death will fight the obvious because they are not sincere and will seek every means and twist every truth to fit their warped logic which can only come from the evil one. That is why they equate Catholic teaching with the Dark Ages because they have not been enlightened by the True Light but the Luciferian light which blinds men's hearts. 2005 IgNOMinious gNOMe Awards
The Second Annual igNOMinious gNOMe Awards have been presented for 2005. As we have said before, these offenders need to be exposed and shamed for the sake of their own souls and to warn others that there behavior, their guidance can be harmful to souls. Unfortunately too many have become immune to what these ignominious ones do and say and think they're right and those clinging to the Truths and Traditions are way out in left field with conspiracy theories that make no sense. Let them think that as they read Matthew 7: 20, "By their fruits you shall know them." Thus we provide evidence of this lack of fruits with the full list of igNOMinious recipients of the 2005 gNOMe Awards
    NOVENA TO THE HOLY GHOST
Today we continue with the Novena to the Holy Ghost preceding the Feast of Pentecost. It is one of the oldest novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Ghost on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light and strength and love so sorely needed by every Christian. To encourage devotion to the Holy Spirit, Holy Mother Church has enriched this novena with and indulgence of ten years on any day of the novena with a plenary indulgence if one participates in at least five exercises and moreover go to confession, receive Holy Communion and pray for the proper intentions. Accompanying each day is the Act of Consecration to the Holy Ghost and the Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Ghost. Today is Second Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
    QUEEN OF THE MAY
One of the traditional devotions during Mary's Month of May is The Little Crown of the Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary which is an ancient prayer said by more than a few saints and was mandated by the holy St.Louis Marie de Montfort to those in his orders. It is a prayer said for each day of May. Along with this prayer there is another tradition that can be found in Fr. Lasance's book on Our Lady and that is to offer each day in May to the Blessed Virgin a different flower which corresponds to a particular virtue for each day. Today the flower is the Bindweed, appropriately corresponding to the virtue of Attachment to God. The devotion can be found in The Little Crown and Queen of the May
    White Smoke, Black Fire!
We encourage readers hooked on "White Smoke, Black Fire!" to concentrate on the similarities in this novel - first written in 1986 for these very times - with actual events happening right now. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, the Legion of the Basilisk moves in as Grabe enters the infirmary to destroy Pat while Monsignor Stephen Navarro scrambles to free Sister Bridie from the ropes that bind her in the basement of the Apostolic Palace. In rummaging for a sharp piece among the shards of the shattered statue Macelli had pushed in anger, Stephen discovers an old sealed envelope with a special wax seal on it which he tucks within his cassock in their haste to escape. But alas could it be too late? They freeze as the elevator doors open, while above in the infirmary Pat just eludes Grabe's wrath at the expense of an unsuspecting tertiary nurse and flees through the window out onto the ledge and races for his life across the northern roof of the Bernini Colonnade until he runs out of room. With the guards in hot pursuit is it curtains for Pat? The answers can be found in the eleventh episode as we complete Part IV, the Ninth Chapter The Shrouding: Out on the Ledge

Already we have had the Lily for Purity on May 1, the Rose representing Love of God on May 2, a Myosotis represents Thanksgiving on May 3, a Pansy assimilates Thought of Heaven for May 4, and May 5 calls for the delicate blossom of the Marguerite to signify Simplicity. Today the flower is the Violet. So appropriate on this Feast of St. John Before the Latin Gate since he was no shrinking violet but practiced at all times Humility. The devotion can be found in The Little Crown and Queen of the May

It is too late for Vic, but what about Vic's fellow workers at the Metroplex Mirror? While the Legion searches for Pat inside the Vatican, explosions rip the Dallas skyline with Edwin Blix gloating from the sky. But shortly Blix's in-flight triumph turns sour while in Rome Sr. Bridie, pumped with truth serum, helplessly reveals Pat's whereabouts in the tenth episode of Part IV, the Ninth Chapter The Shrouding: Angels of Mercy
    ASCENSION THURSDAY
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Solemnity of the Double of the First Class Feast of the ASCENSION OF OUR LORD, he points out that all we believe in is being undermined, slowly the enemy within is allowing the foundations to be eroded by historically conditioning the scriptures. Rather than accept them literally as we must do, there are those who have risen within the church to the highest echelon - now the highest - who has proposed in his own inimitable way that truth is relative, this launched in the defense of a heretic from a century ago - Antonio Rosmini - in which, as reported and documented, the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith championed lifting the condemnation because they were "historically conditioned" and therein lays the very problem Vatican II and its periti introduced in destroying not only the very foundations of Catholicism but all of Christendom. The great battle of the end times has begun and were in the midst of it right now. The general we should be looking to for direction and to lead us is the very one who has continually promoted this thinking that truth is relative. None other than Benedict XVI. Father documents this and wonders if in the future we will have feasts to celebrate all that Christ did if they are debunked by those out to destroy and deceive. He explains brilliantly in his sermon for Ascension Thursday. He is Truly Risen, and Ascended

    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica continues his series his series on the Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA. Today he poses six situations which can be be seen one way from a liberal point a view and a totally different view when seen in the true light. He shows the gamesmanship of how the liberals try to dress something up as if it is when it isn't or that it isn't when it is. He offers the gameshow of the 50's What's My Line? as the model and realizes if this were asked of today's liberals they wouldn't really want you to know their line even though they blind themselves to the truths and expect to lead others. Ridiculous? It's even more bizarre as Gabriel shows in Part Three What's My Line?

    Mass Confusion
As a follow-up to what Father Louis Campbell originally brought up in his sermon A Kingdom Brought To Desolation and Pope Pius XII's Sacramentum Ordinis, we bring you a short essay by Father Kevin Vaillancourt, editor of the Traditional publication The Catholic Voice who has given us personal permission to reprint his article from many years ago on the very subject of the questioning of the validity of the Sacrament of Ordination which Paul VI changed. Father reinforces that what Pius XII decreed has been omitted in the new rite of ordination and thus throwing so much into mass confusion with the conciliar church. Father Kevin shows the correct words of the long established traditional rite of Ordination. We bring you his essay which we have titled "Father" or Not "Father"?

Meanwhile Niki and Dr. Ogidi sneak into a warehouse near the Colosseum to get a better bead on what Serrano and Brunatti are up to while in Dallas it is high noon. Vic knows the showdown is inevitable, and confides in Ben O'Fallon at his Dallas pub what Van Wess must do to stop the Legion: Go into the Viper's den in Turtle Creek to confront Blix in the seventh episode of Part IV, the Eighth Chapter The Shrouding: Point of No Return

Note: Due to technical difficulties - a catch-all for a plethora of problems that haven't been solved yet - we are delayed a few days in bringing you the readers' selections for the 2005 igNOMinious gNOMe Awards. Please be patient for all tabulations are almost complete and the categories being worked on so that all deserving notorious ones will be accorded proper and due recognition for their laxity in holding true to the True Faith. We had hoped to bring these to you on the Feast of St. Athanasius this year, but will be delayed until later in the week. Thus, sticking with the tradition begun last year in our inaugural year of these recognitions, we'll most probably reveal this year's gNOMes on the Feast of Saint Pius V as we did last year. This makes sense since this year his feast is superseded by the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord and it is our way of giving him some recognition on such a wonderful Holy Day of Obligation. It was, after all, this holy Pope who codified Trent and the Immemorial Mass of All Ages and it is the very bishops and hierarchs nominated who have so blatantly disobeyed the perpetual celebret mandated by His Holiness. Thus what better day to expose these charlatans than on St. Pius V's day? Stay tuned.
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica picks up where he left off on Saturday with the second installment of his series on the Catholic Identity Crisis. One of the biggest problems confronting Catholics and causing confusion is when Catholics try to apply American principles to their faith. The Church is not a democracy and the whole basis "Of, By and For the People" is foreign to Catholic Doctrine for the Faith exists Of, By and For God - specifically Three Persons in One - Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Any religion that does not adhere to that is not of, by or for God but rather governed by his adversary who rejected all graces when he and his legions of fallen angels stated defiantly Non serviam. Gabriel explains in his second part of his multi-part series in which he identifies why there is a Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA with Part Two "Of the People, By the People, and For the People"?
    White Smoke, Black Fire!
We encourage readers hooked on "White Smoke, Black Fire!" to concentrate on the similarities in this novel - first written in 1986 for these very times - with actual events happening right now. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, Cardinal Zachmunn's strategy to avert the possibility of 40 unworthy bishops being recognized as preconized goes into full force while Stephen is surprised by two Swiss Guards as the plot thickens with Cardinal Zachmunn countering the Legion. Riage Benziger will not have died in vain and lobbying begins in earnest as enemies form within the ranks of the Cardinals and Gregory seeks to identify and isolate them in the sixth episode of Part IV, the Eighth Chapter The Shrouding: Loose and Lobby
    SUNDAY
    "Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Solemnity of the Double of the First Class Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, which this year supersedes the Fifth Sunday After Easter, he points out the importance and link with Saint Joseph who was named after the Son of Jacob's Joseph of the Tribe of Israel. In paralleling the plague-wrought times of the Old Testament Joseph, he assimilates the very troubling times of spiritual plague and crisis Catholics are experiencing today thanks to the conciliar church. In refuting John Paul II's daring "Be not afraid" mantra, Father points out that every God-fearing person should be very afraid for no matter what ecumaniacs may tell you, each person will have to account before the Lord for each and every thing they have done. Few there are who would be so overconfident that they'll escape the justice of God and not have to make amends before being totally cleansed to be eligible to be admitted into the presence of the Beatific Vision. That is why past reliable Catholic popes and saints have advised souls to go to good St. Joseph for his intercession is great in Heaven. We have to work at it, but who better to emulate than he whose work ethic and love were beyond reproach. How appropriate this year that his feast leads into Rogation Days when we call upon God and His Saints for protection. Truly we ask St. Joseph and the Saints to preserve us as Father explains in his sermon "Go to Joseph and do what he tells you"

Is it a spy weapon the Legion is using against him? Can Colin Rembert be trusted or is he with the Legion of the Basilisk? In the Sistine he is able to catch up to Cardinal Zachmunn in order to finally confide to his mentor the dangers lurking about. The St. Louis Archbishop discloses why it has come to this at this time and entrusts Stephen with a special packet of vital letters. As the day wanes on Pat is recovering in the Vatican Infirmary where he discovers where Pope Clement XV has been taken. while three floors below Sr. Bridie bravely withstands torture by the Legion to the mounting consternation of Legion ne'r-do-wells Macelli and Grabe in the fifth episode of Part IV, the Eighth Chapter The Shrouding: Omens and Ogres

    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica begins today a multi-part essay on the growing problem that is becoming worse with every generation - that is the Catholic identity crisis in the United States today. On the heels of his satirical, "If Americans Chose the Pope", Gabriel gets down to serious side for taking our Faith seriously is a very serious matter. In his first installment he treats the case of identity theft and names the culprits - the faux Catholic organizations that have been empowered by spineless shepherds who long ago were guilty of mutiny against the Barque of Peter and have commandeered the Ship of Fools. Gabriel sounds the clarion though there are many who call themselves Catholic, by their actions and beliefs they are in no way on board the Barque of Peter. Rather, they sail on a larger armada that today dwarfs the Barque. This massive fleet that seeks to sink the true Barque of Peter is best known as the Ship of Fools and a word to the wise is sufficient: Abandon that ship immediately! Gabriel explains in his first installment of his multi-part series Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA with Part One Catholic Identity Theft!
    The Sanity of Sanctity
In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. This Novena, which has been running from April 22 to today, leads into the universal Feast of St. Joseph the Worker tomorrow, for indeed, there is much work to do in rebuilding Christ's one, true Church as He intended. We entreat all to pray as one for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in this most pivotal time ever in history. Today we invite you to pray the final Ninth Day of the Novena to Saint Joseph for the Universal Church

In today's episode, Stephen introduces the Prince of the Conclave to Colin Rembert, who introduces a new marvel of technology to the giddy Cardinal "Marconi." Meanwhile, thanks to the latest in lazer surgery, the Vatican chief physician Dr. Giuseppe Ghislieri has Pat on the road to recovery though the doctor and nurses still think he is Cardinal Zachmunn's assistant Fr. Donaldson. Meanwhile Stephen has returned to the utility room with questions haunting him about the amazing, but mysterious "Penultimate" he has been given. Is it a trap? Once Sister Bridie returns she tries to smuggle Stephen to the infirmary in the same manner Pat was ferried in, but alas they are intercepted by the nefarious Cardinal Macelli. As the elevator descends to the basement, it looks like curtains for both Sister and Stephen buried beneath a mound of sheets and terry cloth. The suspense builds in the fourth episode of Part IV, the Seventh Chapter The Shrouding: Bugs, Bandages and Basement Blues

    Catholic PewPOINT
Today marks the end of the ten-day moratorium in which editor Michael Cain has withheld comments about Benedict XVI until the inevitable was only too obvious. Now, on the vigil of one of the greatest saints known for making sure popes adhered to the Faith, Cain speaks out. He does not rant on about what Ratzinger/Benedict has said, but in just what he has done over the first ten days. Sadly, that says volumes of what his papacy portends. As Cain points out, that is not good and in emulating tomorrow's saint the holy Catherine of Siena, we must be vigilant of the Deposit of the Faith and demand the hierarchs do the same and more. Cain shows the slide toward perdition so visually depicted in the papal coats of arms of the men who have sat on the throne of Peter over the past half century. He lays out seven diadems that signal the Ratz-glitz we can sadly expect more of in the shell game Benedict XVI plans on playing out in the same manner he did when a cardinal and before as a periti at Vatican II. Cain explains in his editorial Pray for the conversion of Benedict XVI

Good thing the diminutive Irish nun took precautions previously as the reader is given more background on the proceedings before the Conclave and the Sistine Chapel as Stephen encounters a mysterious Australian beneath the timeless tableau of the master of masters Michelangelo in the third episode of Part IV, the Seventh Chapter The Shrouding: Machinations, Miscreants and Michelangelo

    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica provides a tongue-in-cheek look at what would happen if Americans chose the next Roman Pontiff. Considering the hierarchy of the American Media which sent the message loud and clear that the only thing that mattered was how Benedict XVI would play with 'American Catholics' and, for that matter, with feminists, pro-aborts, and sodomites, Gabriel lays out the possibilities if the American political system took over the election of a pope. As shocking as it might sound in the face of tradition over the past 2000 years, it is not as far-fetched as one might think considering how far the princes of the modern church have veered from the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church as upheld and practiced from Peter through Pius XII. We can see already the modernists have turned the tiara in for a party hat. Gabriel explains in If Americans Chose The Pope...

    2005 UGLIES
On the Feast of Saint Peter Canisius, known as the "Windmill of Wisdom" we announced the wisdom of the readers on who they chose for the ill-fated 2005 UGLIES Presentation. The readers cast their votes and we revealed whom they chose. Like last year, we tallied the ones receiving the most votes as the most Unprincipled Garrulous Liberal Idiot Embracing Sin (UGLIES). The whole purpose of the UGLIES is to expose sin for what it is: UGLY, and to discredit those who tolerate it and who seek to perpetuate tolerance by accepting what is unacceptable to God and therefore must be to us as well. It is appropriate that they were presented on the Feast of the holy Doctor of the Church St. Peter Canisius for this Dutch roto-rooter drove out sin and heresy by always uncompromisingly speaking the truth. Thus the second annual UGLIES awards are meant to expose the persistent sin of these fools so that the sheep might be aware of those promoting the world, the flesh and the devil. Since our modern shepherds have failed us, this is our tongue-in-cheek way to bring it to everyone's attention in the 2004 UGLIES

    THE STRAIGHT STUFF
As has been established, Griff Ruby is well-known for taking on tough subjects and not shying away from controversy. Today, despite the calls to take it easy on the new man in charge in modern Rome - Benedict XVI - the heretical bread crumbs Ratzinger has left behind, beginning with the famous subsistit in in Lumen Gentium, will forever haunt him until he wipes the slate clean and recants those two little words and all that they imply. Only then will we begin to see a healing and a truly Catholic reconnection of many members to the lifeline of Holy Mother Church - the Mystical Body of Christ. Griff brings up an interesting fact that it is not so important as who is in charge in Rome today, but what that person - in this case Benedict XVI - is in charge of! Considering how it was his pushing the ecumenical agenda in the Vatican II documents, he has basically painted himself into a corner where the most radical of factions try to justify their position in light of Lumen Gentium. Griff explains how and why Benedict XVI has his work cut out for him and it would have to be a total 180 for him to do the right thing. Ruby documents this in his essay Benedict XVI can save the Church, but will he?

He who was dead has arisen and Pat can relate, miraculously revived from the state of death. Needing medical care and a new-found fearlessness, Monsignor Stephen Navarro steals Pat inside the Vatican where Macelli has discovered Stephen missing. Avoiding detection while still trying to save Captain Riage Benziger, the hero lives within the noble Swiss Guard's veins and soul, but not so his body inside Father Roberto Urazzi's Vatican office. The startled amateur assassin then turns his gun on Pat as the latter lunges at the turncoat priest, wrestling to the death in the ninth and final episode of Part III, the Sixth Chapter The Shadowing: Legacy of the Martyred

    Making Sense of Sensus Catholicus
Father James F. Wathen, the pioneering traditional author of The Great Sacrilege, cites David's 77th Psalm in referring to the popes who have tempted God by refusing Our Lady's request at Fatima to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart. He shows how the interpretation of the Third Secret makes no sense when realizing the Blessed Mother wanted all of this revealed by 1960. He asks why would modern Rome insult our intelligence by foisting a reference to John Paul II as the bishop who was shot. Since his being shot on May 13, 1981 didn't alter or change one thing in respect to Our Lady's wish and even in the pabulum revealed in the so-called "Third Secret" released by Joseph Ratzinger in 2000, Father points out that one must wonder if ecumenism has not replaced conversion and Heaven's wishes be damned. As usual we are grateful to Maria Hughes for sending Father's latest essay titled Tempting God
    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica, on the heels of his two series on Tolerance and Diversity, continues his postscript on his series on the Dragons from late last year. There he identified the various vices of the three-headed dragons. But, as he pointed out Saturday, there is a fourth dragon, a four-headed beast that invades homes, schools and churches through television, radio, print and the internet. This dragon has mesmerized and mashed minds into believing anything. The media have become the hierarchy of the modern church, especially in America where the tabernacle of satan, otherwise known as the television, serves as the altar of convenience, ease, and justification of sin in too many homes. The manipulators of mammon have done a thorough job of devastating the vineyard, scorching souls everywhere. Gabriel shows how the clueless ones are even more clueless about what is happening to them. They're slowly being boiled in a hellish heresy because the spineless shepherds have abandoned the gates and allowed the dragons to have free reign. Satan couldn't be happier as Gabriel explains in The Fourth Dragon's Devastation in his second installment of Evil Leading The Blind Part Two

Though Corrie and Vic, and few others realize it, this time the theater targeted for destruction is the Vatican. In the midst of a winter storm coming off the plains of Texas, Vic confides in Corrie's trust and Pat's possible fate all recorded on the Reflector Imager. Is he still alive or was the Ristorante Romano his last hurrah. Some questions are answered in the eighth episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Fire and Ice
    SUNDAY
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Fourth Sunday After Easter, he reminds all that no one should say 'we didn't see it coming,' for our Blessed Mother tried to warn us at Rue du Bac, La Salette, Lourdes and Fatima. God has warned us in Holy Writ, and Popes have warned us including Leo XIII's bold and vital Prayer to St. Michael that the See of Peter would be usurped. Whatever the media may spin, the fact is we are in a deadly spiritual war and we must rebel against the usurpers who have dared to place man where God always resided - front and center in the holy tabernacle. As the euphoria of a new pope wears off, Catholics are advised by Father to read what Benedict XVI wrote and believed well before he was chosen to succeed John Paul II the Great Humanist. That should give those expecting Benedict XVI to change things a wake-up call that it's more smoke and mirrors and that the conciliar church has nothing whatsoever to do with the True Church for it has followed the Revolution and veered from the only One Who has the right to rule over all nations, all souls - Christ the King. As long as that reign is ignored, those subscribing to the revolution are destined to fail. We have Christ's promise on that to spur us onward to victory. Father explains in his sermon The Spiritual Warfare

There he identified the various vices of the three-headed dragons. But there is a fourth dragon, a four-headed beast that invades homes, schools and churches through television, radio, print and the internet. This dragon has mesmerized and mashed minds into believing anything and Gabriel lays the blame where it belongs: at the foot of the Catholic hierarchy who have abandoned their posts as guardians, turning the other three dragons even deadlier and swifter by the powers of the fourth dragon who slithers in hissing heresy without anyone to stand up against the fiery fallacies scorching souls and turning the sheep without caring, vigilant shepherds into nothing but gullible goats, blindly being led by evil to the same bridge of perdition he referred to in his last series on Diversity; the one that leads to the bottomless abyss. He explains in The Fourth Dragon is the Fifth Estate in his first installment of Evil Leading The Blind Part One

    Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica completes his short series on Diversity, the other bookend to Tolerance of which he wrote immediately prior to this. Today he files part two in which he shows clearly that the antithesis of what God intended for diversity is what paves the bridge to perdition. Anyone daring to tread that road is destined to fall into the great abyss because God cannot and will not ever reward evil and make something good out of an inherent evil, especially that which is bent on continuing and justifying that very evil. Such can never come from the Almighty, but rather His great adversary who prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he might devour as our first Pope warns in 1 Peter 5: 8. Gabriel explains in his second installment on The Bridge to Perdition: Demonic Hypocrisy vs. Truth in The Scourge of Moral Diversity Part Two

Swiss Guard Riage Benziger tends to the comatose Pope Clement XV, trying to keep the latter alive while gaining enough strength himself to go get help. Across town in Dr. Makuta Ogidi's second-floor flat, Pat awakes from his hellish nightmare of the Basilisk and relates it to Niki as the reader gains greater insight into Pat's character. Back at the Vatican, Stephen experiences hell itself in a haunting, horrific vision inside the Holy See near the sacred Sistine Chapel in the fifth episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Ghosts of Gehenna

PAPAL PROOF OF WHAT THE CHURCH TRULY TEACHES
For those who truly want to delve deeper into what the Faith teaches and what past Sovereign Pontiffs have decreed, we recommend for your vital reading to better KNOW THE FAITH in order to KEEP THE FAITH, pertinent Papal decrees which put to the lie what is being promulgated today by the Vatican II church. We strongly encourage you to read these to understand how today the modern church is in Apostasy when compared to what had always been taught by Holy Mother Church and enforced and warned as most grievous by previous Pontiffs as you'll see in CREDO & CULTURE

With Lent in the rear view mirror, almsgiving was down this year and with events where March roared out like a lion and hasn't let up in April, we don't need to tell you that almsgiving is one way Catholics can show their sincerity and commitment to Tradition. Our Lord sheds tears because so many souls still do not know the Truth and are wallowing in the desert of desertion, devastation and destruction. Right now they are being dumbed-down further and propagandized by the New Order with every secular media leeching on to the love train that cannot see the emperor wore no clothes. Because of that the light of Tradition grows dimmer as the weather patterns and natural disasters grow stronger. With your donations to The Daily Catholic and Our Lady's intercession, you can help to save souls, brighten the path to Tradition, and dry a tear or two from Jesus' holy face, lest those of you, who have the Truth and have been blessed with the means to help, might have to try to explain your selfishness at your Particular Judgment. Think and pray over it as we ask you to remember this apostolate for charitable giving during this time when the dollar is stretched tight with donations to help the victims of the devastations in Indonesia, which must take priority. But if you have anything left over, we greatly appreciate any donation you can make for almsgiving is one of the commandments of the Church. We count on the generosity of our readers to keep up the integrity of this publication and keep it free of all advertising and banners in providing our readers worldwide with the foundations for the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church. If you can give of your love and bounty we would be most grateful.

When it comes to all these ungodly laws being passed by liberal judges because of the lobbying and intimidation of a small minority out to do away with the natural and supernatural order, it is wise to keep in mind the following:

"Unjust laws are, properly speaking, NO LAWS!"
His Eminence Saint Robert Cardinal Bellarmine, Doctor of the Church
