Gabriel's Clarion Gabriel Garnica continues his series his series on the Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA. Today he poses six situations which can be be seen one way from a liberal point a view and a totally different view when seen in the true light. He shows the gamesmanship of how the liberals try to dress something up as if it is when it isn't or that it isn't when it is. He offers the gameshow of the 50's What's My Line? as the model and realizes if this were asked of today's liberals they wouldn't really want you to know their line even though they blind themselves to the truths and expect to lead others. Ridiculous? It's even more bizarre as Gabriel shows in Part Three What's My Line? White Smoke, Black Fire! We encourage readers hooked on "White Smoke, Black Fire!" to concentrate on the similarities in this novel - first written in 1986 for these very times - with actual events happening right now. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, the detonator is delivered to the Vatican as Blix alerts Grabe to be on the watch for Pat Gallagher just before a crucial chess game at the General Congregation begins; one that will have tremendous ramifications on the coming Conclave. In the aftermath of the General Congregation in Rome, Corrie searches for direction in a quiet Dallas church after Ben's phone call as more in unveiled in the eighth episode of Part IV, the Ninth Chapter The Shrouding: The Gambit of Fianchetto and Zugzwang As a follow-up to what Father Louis Campbell originally brought up in his sermon A Kingdom Brought To Desolation and Pope Pius XII's Sacramentum Ordinis, we bring you a short essay by Father Kevin Vaillancourt, editor of the Traditional publication The Catholic Voice who has given us personal permission to reprint his article from many years ago on the very subject of the questioning of the validity of the Sacrament of Ordination which Paul VI changed. Father reinforces that what Pius XII decreed has been omitted in the new rite of ordination and thus throwing so much into mass confusion with the conciliar church. Father Kevin shows the correct words of the long established traditional rite of Ordination. We bring you his essay which we have titled "Father" or Not "Father"? White Smoke, Black Fire! We encourage readers hooked on "White Smoke, Black Fire!" to concentrate on the similarities in this novel - first written in 1986 for these very times - with actual events happening right now. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, Cardinal Gregory Zachmunn continues to scope out the voting blocs in anticipation of the impending General Assembly while in the Secretary of State's offices, Cardinals Macelli and Vendhem host those already compromised, overconfident in thinking they have enough votes to push through the call to admit the 40 preconium prelates. Meanwhile Niki and Dr. Ogidi sneak into a warehouse near the Colosseum to get a better bead on what Serrano and Brunatti are up to while in Dallas it is high noon. Vic knows the showdown is inevitable, and confides in Ben O'Fallon at his Dallas pub what Van Wess must do to stop the Legion: Go into the Viper's den in Turtle Creek to confront Blix in the seventh episode of Part IV, the Eighth Chapter The Shrouding: Point of No Return Gabriel's Clarion Gabriel Garnica picks up where he left off on Saturday with the second installment of his series on the Catholic Identity Crisis. One of the biggest problems confronting Catholics and causing confusion is when Catholics try to apply American principles to their faith. The Church is not a democracy and the whole basis "Of, By and For the People" is foreign to Catholic Doctrine for the Faith exists Of, By and For God - specifically Three Persons in One - Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Any religion that does not adhere to that is not of, by or for God but rather governed by his adversary who rejected all graces when he and his legions of fallen angels stated defiantly Non serviam. Gabriel explains in his second part of his multi-part series in which he identifies why there is a Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA with Part Two "Of the People, By the People, and For the People"? White Smoke, Black Fire! We encourage readers hooked on "White Smoke, Black Fire!" to concentrate on the similarities in this novel - first written in 1986 for these very times - with actual events happening right now. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, Cardinal Zachmunn's strategy to avert the possibility of 40 unworthy bishops being recognized as preconized goes into full force while Stephen is surprised by two Swiss Guards as the plot thickens with Cardinal Zachmunn countering the Legion. Riage Benziger will not have died in vain and lobbying begins in earnest as enemies form within the ranks of the Cardinals and Gregory seeks to identify and isolate them in the sixth episode of Part IV, the Eighth Chapter The Shrouding: Loose and Lobby In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Solemnity of the Double of the First Class Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, which this year supersedes the Fifth Sunday After Easter, he points out the importance and link with Saint Joseph who was named after the Son of Jacob's Joseph of the Tribe of Israel. In paralleling the plague-wrought times of the Old Testament Joseph, he assimilates the very troubling times of spiritual plague and crisis Catholics are experiencing today thanks to the conciliar church. In refuting John Paul II's daring "Be not afraid" mantra, Father points out that every God-fearing person should be very afraid for no matter what ecumaniacs may tell you, each person will have to account before the Lord for each and every thing they have done. Few there are who would be so overconfident that they'll escape the justice of God and not have to make amends before being totally cleansed to be eligible to be admitted into the presence of the Beatific Vision. That is why past reliable Catholic popes and saints have advised souls to go to good St. Joseph for his intercession is great in Heaven. We have to work at it, but who better to emulate than he whose work ethic and love were beyond reproach. How appropriate this year that his feast leads into Rogation Days when we call upon God and His Saints for protection. Truly we ask St. Joseph and the Saints to preserve us as Father explains in his sermon "Go to Joseph and do what he tells you" White Smoke, Black Fire! In today's episode, Monsignor Stephen Navarro stores Captain Benziger's body in the utility room, hoping the deoderant cakes will last while he returns to the Sistine to delve further into the tracking ability of the "Penultimate." Is it a spy weapon the Legion is using against him? Can Colin Rembert be trusted or is he with the Legion of the Basilisk? In the Sistine he is able to catch up to Cardinal Zachmunn in order to finally confide to his mentor the dangers lurking about. The St. Louis Archbishop discloses why it has come to this at this time and entrusts Stephen with a special packet of vital letters. As the day wanes on Pat is recovering in the Vatican Infirmary where he discovers where Pope Clement XV has been taken. while three floors below Sr. Bridie bravely withstands torture by the Legion to the mounting consternation of Legion ne'r-do-wells Macelli and Grabe in the fifth episode of Part IV, the Eighth Chapter The Shrouding: Omens and Ogres Graphic below of Barque of Peter tossed to and fro copyright by Matthew Brooks, used with permission Gabriel's ClarionGabriel Garnica begins today a multi-part essay on the growing problem that is becoming worse with every generation - that is the Catholic identity crisis in the United States today. On the heels of his satirical, "If Americans Chose the Pope", Gabriel gets down to serious side for taking our Faith seriously is a very serious matter. In his first installment he treats the case of identity theft and names the culprits - the faux Catholic organizations that have been empowered by spineless shepherds who long ago were guilty of mutiny against the Barque of Peter and have commandeered the Ship of Fools. Gabriel sounds the clarion though there are many who call themselves Catholic, by their actions and beliefs they are in no way on board the Barque of Peter. Rather, they sail on a larger armada that today dwarfs the Barque. This massive fleet that seeks to sink the true Barque of Peter is best known as the Ship of Fools and a word to the wise is sufficient: Abandon that ship immediately! Gabriel explains in his first installment of his multi-part series Catholic Identity Crisis in the USA with Part One Catholic Identity Theft! The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. This Novena, which has been running from April 22 to today, leads into the universal Feast of St. Joseph the Worker tomorrow, for indeed, there is much work to do in rebuilding Christ's one, true Church as He intended. We entreat all to pray as one for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in this most pivotal time ever in history. Today we invite you to pray the final Ninth Day of the Novena to Saint Joseph for the Universal Church White Smoke, Black Fire! In today's episode, Stephen introduces the Prince of the Conclave to Colin Rembert, who introduces a new marvel of technology to the giddy Cardinal "Marconi." Meanwhile, thanks to the latest in lazer surgery, the Vatican chief physician Dr. Giuseppe Ghislieri has Pat on the road to recovery though the doctor and nurses still think he is Cardinal Zachmunn's assistant Fr. Donaldson. Meanwhile Stephen has returned to the utility room with questions haunting him about the amazing, but mysterious "Penultimate" he has been given. Is it a trap? Once Sister Bridie returns she tries to smuggle Stephen to the infirmary in the same manner Pat was ferried in, but alas they are intercepted by the nefarious Cardinal Macelli. As the elevator descends to the basement, it looks like curtains for both Sister and Stephen buried beneath a mound of sheets and terry cloth. The suspense builds in the fourth episode of Part IV, the Seventh Chapter The Shrouding: Bugs, Bandages and Basement Blues Today marks the end of the ten-day moratorium in which editor Michael Cain has withheld comments about Benedict XVI until the inevitable was only too obvious. Now, on the vigil of one of the greatest saints known for making sure popes adhered to the Faith, Cain speaks out. He does not rant on about what Ratzinger/Benedict has said, but in just what he has done over the first ten days. Sadly, that says volumes of what his papacy portends. As Cain points out, that is not good and in emulating tomorrow's saint the holy Catherine of Siena, we must be vigilant of the Deposit of the Faith and demand the hierarchs do the same and more. Cain shows the slide toward perdition so visually depicted in the papal coats of arms of the men who have sat on the throne of Peter over the past half century. He lays out seven diadems that signal the Ratz-glitz we can sadly expect more of in the shell game Benedict XVI plans on playing out in the same manner he did when a cardinal and before as a periti at Vatican II. Cain explains in his editorial Pray for the conversion of Benedict XVI The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. This Novena, running from April 22 to April 30, leads into the universal Feast of St. Joseph the Worker for, indeed, there is much work to do in rebuilding Christ's one, true Church as He intended. Today we invite you to pray the Eighth Day of the Novena to Saint Joseph for the Universal Church White Smoke, Black Fire! In today's episode, Lorenzo reveals the explosive nature and limitations of the mylar on the charred crucifix Niki retrieved from Fasif's estate while Elena Grabe, masked as a nun, intimidates Sister Bridie into handing over the keys to the Papal Quarters. Good thing the diminutive Irish nun took precautions previously as the reader is given more background on the proceedings before the Conclave and the Sistine Chapel as Stephen encounters a mysterious Australian beneath the timeless tableau of the master of masters Michelangelo in the third episode of Part IV, the Seventh Chapter The Shrouding: Machinations, Miscreants and Michelangelo Gabriel Garnica provides a tongue-in-cheek look at what would happen if Americans chose the next Roman Pontiff. Considering the hierarchy of the American Media which sent the message loud and clear that the only thing that mattered was how Benedict XVI would play with 'American Catholics' and, for that matter, with feminists, pro-aborts, and sodomites, Gabriel lays out the possibilities if the American political system took over the election of a pope. As shocking as it might sound in the face of tradition over the past 2000 years, it is not as far-fetched as one might think considering how far the princes of the modern church have veered from the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church as upheld and practiced from Peter through Pius XII. We can see already the modernists have turned the tiara in for a party hat. Gabriel explains in If Americans Chose The Pope... Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, Father Niki Andriopoulos and Dr. Makuta Ogidi uncover clues to the Legion's scheme of how the Legion is going to smuggle inside the walls of the Vatican the weapon of Mass Destruction. Meanwhile Monsignor Stephen Navarro and Sr. Bridie, working on the inside, help treat a fast-weakening Pat Gallagher. Realizing he needs hospital attention, they concoct a way for Sister to smuggle Pat beneath the towels into the Vatican Infirmary as two of the Legion cardinals plot the destruction of the Holy See in the second episode of Part IV, the Seventh Chapter The Shrouding: Trojan Horses On the Feast of Saint Peter Canisius, known as the "Windmill of Wisdom" we announced the wisdom of the readers on who they chose for the ill-fated 2005 UGLIES Presentation. The readers cast their votes and we revealed whom they chose. Like last year, we tallied the ones receiving the most votes as the most Unprincipled Garrulous Liberal Idiot Embracing Sin (UGLIES). The whole purpose of the UGLIES is to expose sin for what it is: UGLY, and to discredit those who tolerate it and who seek to perpetuate tolerance by accepting what is unacceptable to God and therefore must be to us as well. It is appropriate that they were presented on the Feast of the holy Doctor of the Church St. Peter Canisius for this Dutch roto-rooter drove out sin and heresy by always uncompromisingly speaking the truth. Thus the second annual UGLIES awards are meant to expose the persistent sin of these fools so that the sheep might be aware of those promoting the world, the flesh and the devil. Since our modern shepherds have failed us, this is our tongue-in-cheek way to bring it to everyone's attention in the 2004 UGLIES The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, as the Pope struggles for life, Niki and Dr. Ogidi track two members of the Legion of the Basilisk to a home in the hills. Meanwhile Monsignor Stephen Navarro has recruited Sister Bridie to help tend to Pat's wounds. Gallagher takes her into his confidence, relating how close the Basilisk has penetrated within the Holy See in the first episode of Part IV, the Seventh Chapter The Shrouding: Trackers and Triage As has been established, Griff Ruby is well-known for taking on tough subjects and not shying away from controversy. Today, despite the calls to take it easy on the new man in charge in modern Rome - Benedict XVI - the heretical bread crumbs Ratzinger has left behind, beginning with the famous subsistit in in Lumen Gentium, will forever haunt him until he wipes the slate clean and recants those two little words and all that they imply. Only then will we begin to see a healing and a truly Catholic reconnection of many members to the lifeline of Holy Mother Church - the Mystical Body of Christ. Griff brings up an interesting fact that it is not so important as who is in charge in Rome today, but what that person - in this case Benedict XVI - is in charge of! Considering how it was his pushing the ecumenical agenda in the Vatican II documents, he has basically painted himself into a corner where the most radical of factions try to justify their position in light of Lumen Gentium. Griff explains how and why Benedict XVI has his work cut out for him and it would have to be a total 180 for him to do the right thing. Ruby documents this in his essay Benedict XVI can save the Church, but will he? The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode, the power of prayer calls forth the mercy of God where the blood of martyrs became the seed of Christianity. He who was dead has arisen and Pat can relate, miraculously revived from the state of death. Needing medical care and a new-found fearlessness, Monsignor Stephen Navarro steals Pat inside the Vatican where Macelli has discovered Stephen missing. Avoiding detection while still trying to save Captain Riage Benziger, the hero lives within the noble Swiss Guard's veins and soul, but not so his body inside Father Roberto Urazzi's Vatican office. The startled amateur assassin then turns his gun on Pat as the latter lunges at the turncoat priest, wrestling to the death in the ninth and final episode of Part III, the Sixth Chapter The Shadowing: Legacy of the Martyred Father James F. Wathen, the pioneering traditional author of The Great Sacrilege, cites David's 77th Psalm in referring to the popes who have tempted God by refusing Our Lady's request at Fatima to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart. He shows how the interpretation of the Third Secret makes no sense when realizing the Blessed Mother wanted all of this revealed by 1960. He asks why would modern Rome insult our intelligence by foisting a reference to John Paul II as the bishop who was shot. Since his being shot on May 13, 1981 didn't alter or change one thing in respect to Our Lady's wish and even in the pabulum revealed in the so-called "Third Secret" released by Joseph Ratzinger in 2000, Father points out that one must wonder if ecumenism has not replaced conversion and Heaven's wishes be damned. As usual we are grateful to Maria Hughes for sending Father's latest essay titled Tempting God Gabriel's Clarion Gabriel Garnica, on the heels of his two series on Tolerance and Diversity, continues his postscript on his series on the Dragons from late last year. There he identified the various vices of the three-headed dragons. But, as he pointed out Saturday, there is a fourth dragon, a four-headed beast that invades homes, schools and churches through television, radio, print and the internet. This dragon has mesmerized and mashed minds into believing anything. The media have become the hierarchy of the modern church, especially in America where the tabernacle of satan, otherwise known as the television, serves as the altar of convenience, ease, and justification of sin in too many homes. The manipulators of mammon have done a thorough job of devastating the vineyard, scorching souls everywhere. Gabriel shows how the clueless ones are even more clueless about what is happening to them. They're slowly being boiled in a hellish heresy because the spineless shepherds have abandoned the gates and allowed the dragons to have free reign. Satan couldn't be happier as Gabriel explains in The Fourth Dragon's Devastation in his second installment of Evil Leading The Blind Part Two The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. We entreat all to pray as one for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in this most pivotal time ever in history. Today we invite you to pray the Fourth Day of the Novena to Saint Joseph for the Universal Church White Smoke, Black Fire! In today's episode, two of the Legion's henchmen overconfidently celebrate the Master's destruction of the Resistance. In Texas Corrie expects the worst after a call from Vic as the Legion plots further terror in Rome. Though Corrie and Vic, and few others realize it, this time the theater targeted for destruction is the Vatican. In the midst of a winter storm coming off the plains of Texas, Vic confides in Corrie's trust and Pat's possible fate all recorded on the Reflector Imager. Is he still alive or was the Ristorante Romano his last hurrah. Some questions are answered in the eighth episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Fire and Ice The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. In today's episode Pat Gallagher, Dr. Makuta Ogidi, Fr. Niki Andriopoulos and Monsignor Stephen Navarro rendezvous in disguise at the Ristorante Romano to discuss strategies, always aware the Legion of the Basilisk has eyes and ears everywhere. But the Chianti causes these four to drop their guard momentarily. It is enough for the Basilisk to take advantage and Pat is the target for he knows. He saw the eyes. There is a Judas in their midst. Now it is a battle to the death in the seventh episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Last Supper with the Serpent Gabriel Garnica, on the heels of his two series on Tolerance and Diversity, reverts back to his series on the Dragons from late last year. There he identified the various vices of the three-headed dragons. But there is a fourth dragon, a four-headed beast that invades homes, schools and churches through television, radio, print and the internet. This dragon has mesmerized and mashed minds into believing anything and Gabriel lays the blame where it belongs: at the foot of the Catholic hierarchy who have abandoned their posts as guardians, turning the other three dragons even deadlier and swifter by the powers of the fourth dragon who slithers in hissing heresy without anyone to stand up against the fiery fallacies scorching souls and turning the sheep without caring, vigilant shepherds into nothing but gullible goats, blindly being led by evil to the same bridge of perdition he referred to in his last series on Diversity; the one that leads to the bottomless abyss. He explains in The Fourth Dragon is the Fifth Estate in his first installment of Evil Leading The Blind Part One The Sanity of Sanctity In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on what the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode a weakened, but determined and trusting Riage Benziger returns to one side of the Vatican gate, while Stephen is stealing out another way. Once trapped, Captain Benziger suspects betrayal and his only hope that someone on the side of right will find his S.O.S. scribbled on a towel while Legion operatives in Rome and Dallas are piqued over the prize still missing in the sixth episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Twin Piques over the Puzzle of the Prize In an effort to storm Heaven with prayers that Benedict XVI will turn out to be a St. Benedict and not a Benedict Arnold, we call upon his patron saint to guide him to truly become a universal holy father and abandon the path to perdition embarked on by Vatican II, and return Eternal Rome to the Holy See and all of Christendom. This Novena runs from April 22 to April 30 leading into the universal Feast of St. Joseph the Worker for, indeed, there is much work to do in rebuilding Christ's one, true Church as He intended. We entreat all to pray as one for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in this most pivotal time ever in history. Today we invite you to pray the First Day of Novena to Saint Joseph for the Universal Church Gabriel's Clarion Gabriel Garnica completes his short series on Diversity, the other bookend to Tolerance of which he wrote immediately prior to this. Today he files part two in which he shows clearly that the antithesis of what God intended for diversity is what paves the bridge to perdition. Anyone daring to tread that road is destined to fall into the great abyss because God cannot and will not ever reward evil and make something good out of an inherent evil, especially that which is bent on continuing and justifying that very evil. Such can never come from the Almighty, but rather His great adversary who prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he might devour as our first Pope warns in 1 Peter 5: 8. Gabriel explains in his second installment on The Bridge to Perdition: Demonic Hypocrisy vs. Truth in The Scourge of Moral Diversity Part Two White Smoke, Black Fire! We encourage readers hooked on "White Smoke, Black Fire!" to concentrate on the similarities in this novel first written in 1986 for these very times with actual events happening right now. Having just tightened and updated this novel in 2005, readers can catch up on what the daily installments they might have missed by going to the Installment Index. In today's episode a new day dawns as tensions begins to build both in fitfull sleep and in the fears of what the Legion is planning. Swiss Guard Riage Benziger tends to the comatose Pope Clement XV, trying to keep the latter alive while gaining enough strength himself to go get help. Across town in Dr. Makuta Ogidi's second-floor flat, Pat awakes from his hellish nightmare of the Basilisk and relates it to Niki as the reader gains greater insight into Pat's character. Back at the Vatican, Stephen experiences hell itself in a haunting, horrific vision inside the Holy See near the sacred Sistine Chapel in the fifth episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Ghosts of Gehenna Because of the crisis now in place and because events are paralleling so much of what is contained in our novel White Smoke, Black Fire and because it deals with the death of a pope and the ensuing conclave, we have decided it is time to rerun the novel in its entirety for it is written for and playing out in these very times. For those who want to read the entire novel as it was released in 2001, you may go to Episodes to read the entire book. For those who want to take it in daily doses and concentrate on the similarities with actual events happening right now, we have tightened and updated it in 2005, providing daily installments, indexed at Installment Index. In today's episode Pat wakes with a concussion and badly bruised ribs, finding himself in strange environs, but with a familiar face for Fr. Niki Andriopoulos and Dr. Makuta Ogidi who had rescued him at the Via Magdalena from certain death. Despite his wooziness, he is conscious enough to share information and the reader learns more of the Basilisk and Ogidi's role in the fourth episode of the Sixth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Down, but not out! Gabriel Garnica dovetails his series on Tolerance with the other bookend - Diversity - of which he begins his series on The Scourge of Moral Diversity. Today he converses on how God, in His infinite goodness and greatness has created the proper moral order, ordaining perfect diversity in order for man to function in fulfilling his mission for his Creator. As God is the Head of His Church, we are His members. If we were all right hands, or left feet, that body would be truly handicapped where it would not be functional. Diversity is a good thing in God's order, but it is satan who has jumbled the members to freak out the Heavens with the outrageousness that denies God's purpose, turning good into evil and blaming the good for the evil. He explains in his first installment The Scourge of Moral Diversity Part One Making Sense of Sensus Catholicus Father James F. Wathen, the pioneering traditional author of The Great Sacrilege, illustrates through the Gospels how Peter, the first Pope, thinking he was above sinning, became a grave sinner. Father points out the amazing sins he was guilty of in violating the Ten Commandments. It is a very important lesson for every Catholic to take into consideration for when we say 'they might sin, but I would never do that' beware for Peter said the same. He paid for his errors and paid for them dearly and with love. And love was returned as God always does. That is the beauty of penance on our part, for it is done out of love for God. Father writes, "all Simon’s tears did not exempt him from this humbling chastisement, though it must be owned, our Savior administers it in as loving a way as is conceivable." That is the beauty of God and His ways for here was one who betrayed Him, and still after Christ still chose Simon Peter to feed His sheep, as John documents. Christ could have turned His back on Peter, but God's love is not that way. Rather it is we who turn our back on God and when we do, we must realize that like Peter, there is a chastisement that is owed. In love we must accept whatever God selects as our penance to atone for our offenses because, unlike the Protestant concept that good works are not needed, the contrary is true for not by faith alone is one saved but by faith and good works. Peter is proof of that as are the Sacraments whereby we gain Sanctifying Grace, specifically the Sacrament of Penance. As usual we are grateful to Maria Hughes for sending Father's latest essay titled Peter's Penance White Smoke, Black Fire! Because of the crisis now in place and because events are paralleling so much of what is contained in our novel White Smoke, Black Fire and because it deals with the death of a pope and the ensuing conclave, we have decided it is time to rerun the novel in its entirety for it is written for and playing out in these very times. For those who want to read the entire novel as it was released in 2001, you may go to Episodes to read the entire book. For those who want to take it in daily doses and concentrate on the similarities with actual events happening right now, we have tightened and updated it in 2005, providing daily installments, indexed at Installment Index. In today's episode it is a bitterly chilling evening in Rome as Riage Benziger makes plans to notify someone he can trust after making sure Pope Clement XV is as comfortable as possible considering the spartan circumstances in a secret room within Castel San't Angelo. Meanwhile, Pat, troubled by haunting nightmares while trying to get some sleep during the afternoon at the Esperia, awakes to the reality of a worse nightmare; one fated for this evening. Pat arrives just a minute or too late, but it is much too late to save Fasif's daughter Karel. Pat realizes too late that he has walked into the Legion's lair in the fourth episode of the Fifth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: The Deadly Game of Cloak and Dagger Gary Morella provides a review of Dr. Thomas E. Woods work THE CHURCH CONFRONTS MODERNITY - Catholic Intellectuals & the Progressive Era released last July. Gary is a master for fleshing out the message and he has excerpted magnificent passages from Dr. Woods' book which tell the story that, especially now as the faithful pray and await with longing the essence of a good and holy Pope, we must return to Pope St. Pius X's call Instaurare omnia in Christo - "to restore all things in Christ." Gary reveals how Dr. Woods documents that secularism and progressivism have exhausted all avenues and most Catholics, especially faithful ones who seek guidance for themselves and especially their offspring, long to return to the treasured tenets that sustained Holy Mother Church and were so centered on the Gospels at the turn of the century during Pius X's reign. Many of the good things, such as the Jesuit journal America, while founded on right, have fallen on hard ground and scattered to the winds of heresy. Dr. Woods syllogizes the sense and sensibilities of Church Doctors, Popes, and the Scriptures in recognizing the futility of continuing on the progressivist path. Gary masterfully sums up the essence of Dr. Woods' book by citing the certain decrees of Pius X against Modernism. May Modernism die a quick death is our prayer as we invite you to read Gary's A Review of The Church Confronts Modernity REALITY CHECK Father Lawrence Smith provided a reality check as a postscript to Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey's excellent column we posted yesterday. Because it is so poignant and tremendous food for thought, we've decided to publish it separate from Tom's piece to give it the proper emphasis. In the simplest of ways, Fr. Smith has once again succeeded in zinging the heart and mind to wake up to reality with his pertinent points that magnify the very problem we face today because most have remained silent while the destruction has continued unabated over the time continuum of the past papacy and Catholic Truth has been locked away. If we wait too much longer to express that truth, it may be too late, or, to put it more succinctly: speak now or forever hold your peace. Father Smith hits home with his short, sobering piece Wait to speak the truth White Smoke, Black Fire! Because of the crisis now in place and because events are paralleling so much of what is contained in our novel White Smoke, Black Fire and because it deals with the death of a pope and the ensuing conclave, we have decided it is time to rerun the novel in its entirety for it is written for and playing out in these very times. Today the reader is back in Rome, 48 hours after the devastating destruction in Iraq, where the day begins under a gray, foreboding cumulus blanketing the eternal city. The coffins are arranged in St. Peter's in preparation for the funeral as Fr. Niki goes undercover in Rome while Pat rendezvous with Karel in St. Peter's Square, trying to find a way to gently break the bad news of Fasif and Elias to her. Their initial meeting marks the beginning of a cloak and dagger tour throughout the rest of the morning in Rome, where, high above in the hills outside the city, Macelli receives a vile vial from Elena Grabe. Meanwhile back in Rome, Niki's former classmate Lorenzo Stravianzzi has analyzed the small piece of plastic which Niki has asked his scientific friend to identify. The results reveal the contents Andriopoulos subconsciously feared. He realizes all too clearly the shocking intent of the plastic strips in the second episode of the Fifth Chapter of Part III The Shadowing: Transparent Caissons Gabriel Garnica concludes his four part essay on tolerance with the Catholic solution to taming tolerance. He points out that intolerance, which is not about people, but ideas, is nothing new for it has been around for ages, and, in fact in the face of intolerance the Christian Faith flourished. If we are to follow in Christ's footsteps, we must overcome tolerance by expressing love for the sinner but a continued disdain, yeah hate for the sin and not be afraid to express that. One of the problems, as Gabriel cites, is that so few today not only don't know their faith but cannot express it clearly to others and thus evangelization is fruitless in that effort for true Catholicism is not expressed, but rather a hybrid compromising Protestant mish-mash thanks to the watered down tenets of Vatican II that make Protestantism seem logical compared to the fabricated Catholicism of today. Gabriel calls for Catholics to stand up and be counted, but to know their Faith. If they do, despite the obstacles, they will be victorious. He explains in his final installment The Desecration of Tolerance - True Catholic Defiance White Smoke, Black Fire! Because of the crisis now in place and because events are paralleling so much of what is contained in our novel White Smoke, Black Fire and because it deals with the death of a pope and the ensuing conclave, we have decided it is time to rerun the novel in its entirety for it is written for and playing out in these very times. Pat has landed and settled in for a restless night while Niki's arrival is a bit rockier for he is discovered by Dr. Makuta Ogidi in the hold of the C-130 transport with the caskets. A mysterious phone call wakes Pat to the reality of the fate of Fasif, Elias and Helena as Fr. Stephen and Macelli wait for the caskets to be released. Once back at the Vatican Stephen overhears the troubling plot of Macelli and Vendhem while Niki finds bare shelter in a simple flat on the other side of Rome provided by Ogidi in the first episode of the Fifth Chapter as we enter Part III The Shadowing: All Roads Lead to Rome Christ or chaos Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey requested his columns be widely circulated in as many Traditional Catholic publications as possible and other venues as well for the sooner all Catholics realize what is going on, the better they will understand the present crisis and why we are in such sad straits. In the first, published on his site last week he pinpointed the problems of the past papacy and cautioned those optimists to look closer at the last 26 years before rushing to heap so many plaudits and praise on a man "who presided arguably over the worst pontificate in history." Tom lays out the facts and entreats all to Pray for the Pope: The Last One and the Next One We follow up his astute words with a most recent piece that nails the crux of the problem resulting from the past scandal on E-Bay where a host from a Novus Ordo Papal service was auctioned on the internet. He fleshes out what really happened, including details of the event and what happened as a result of the outpouring of protests. Yet none of this would have even been a problem had discipline been in place, you know that very Lex orandi, lex credendi discipline that hitherto 1958 was rarely ever a problem. Tom explains in his column Missing the Real Culprit Once Again On the BattleLine Atila Sinke Guimarães breaks his silence as he weighs in with a summation of the inevitable outcome of the conclave which begins today. He warns not to place too much hope in what will come out of it. In fact, he sees a further corrosion of the Papacy with collegiality and also sees something few secular experts have targeted - a concerted anti-American effort within a power bloc of cardinals to turn the rest of the cardinals, world and conciliar church against America in every way. While Traditional Catholics see John Paul II's failed papacy for obvious reasons, the left sees a failed pontificate as well for Wojtyla didn't go far enough and in that they feel betrayed and are more determined not to elect someone they cannot manage. Atila points out that only in the United States is there a conservative current flowing as a sort of backlash against the radical ideas and philosophies that have engulfed so many nations. The U.S., despite her worldliness and western culture of convenience, still is the one barrier to the much sought after satanic one world order. It makes sense why some Cardinals have gone out of their way to castigate the U.S. for invading Iraq. It is the strategy of the progressivists as Atila identifies in his Bird's Eye View of the News with What is the Mission of the Next Pope? In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Third Sunday After Easter, he illustrates the message of today's Mass in which we are merely "strangers and pilgrims" on a journey through this dark planet. If we stay on the straight and narrow and not veer, following the guiding light of Christ's truths, we will not be detoured by the world, we will not walk blindly in the darkness nor be deceived chiefly because Christ our Navigator cannot deceive or be deceived. Yet the world has followed a man whose symbolism and very title, identified by St. Malachy nearly a thousand years ago, as the "Eclipse of the Sun," is so ironic in the fact the world has praised John Paul II - the "pilgrim pope" to the hilt; so much so that a Zenit headline just released says "Even in death, a Media Superstar." The inordinate praise heaped upon him should be a wake-up call to every Catholic of the antithesis of such adulation. Father cites what our Lord said about all of this. Father doesn't necessarily see the eclipse going away anytime soon for, in following the modus operandi of the anti-Catholic operatives within, what may very well come out of the conclave in modern Rome does not portend well towards producing a holy true Pope. Yet, as Father points out, even when things are the darkest - even a near total eclipse - we can take great solace in Christ's promise in today's Gospel that "your heart shall rejoice: and your joy no man shall take from you." Father explains in his sermon De Labore Solis White Smoke, Black Fire! Because of the crisis now in place and because events are paralleling so much of what is contained in our novel White Smoke, Black Fire and because it deals with the death of a pope and the ensuing conclave, we have decided it is time to rerun the novel in its entirety for it is written for and playing out in these very times. Fr. Niki Andriopoulos tries to save them, but he is too late. In chagrin he can do nothing but flee for his life while in Dallas Ben O'Fallon tries to assuage Corrie that Pat's okay. Meanwhile back in southern Iraq, racing for his life, Niki stays one step ahead of the Legion in a break-neck chase leading him to eventually choose a vehicle of death to escape certain death. But where will it take him? That is the scenario as the action heats up in the Sixth and final installment of Part II The Smoldering: Escape from the Embers |
