The Four Horsemen of the New Order

    With apologies to Grantland Rice:
Outlined against the black and white tenets of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Four Horsemen have galloped. In the Apocalypse they are known as famine, pestilence, destruction and death. These are only aliases to the New Order. Their real names are Feelings, Unity, Self and Pride. They formed the crest of the ecumenical cyclone before which another fighting force - the noble Church Militant - was swept over the precipice as countless souls looked on, hapless, dumb-struck sheep, bleating in blind obedience to the bewildering panorama stampeding across the wide arid-gray expanse of lukewarm hearts.

"It is impossible to be like Christ when we are our only universe, when we are all that matters to ourselves. The absurd notion that reason alone will lead to good assumes that doing what is good is always reasonable. This fraud can be defeated by simply asking if it is reasonable to risk your life for a stranger or give someone a piece of bread when you are starving and only have two pieces of bread. Common sense and reason alone would dictate that it is foolish to risk my life for someone I do not know and certainly not for someone I know will be ungrateful and probably highly undeserving of my favor. In other words, common sense and reason make Calvary a pathetic, foolish mistake when, in fact, it was the greatest form of love ever shown! If God and Heaven are love, hell is likely eternity imbedded in self. Thus, The New Order is simply the attempt to bring hell to earth while dragging earth to hell!"

We have all heard of the Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse, but there are four other horsemen who have already tied their horses around the necks of this fallen society. They are the Four Horsemen of The New Order, and they have already trampled over this society's moral compass.

The First Horseman: Feelings

Considering the New Order Church's evolution to the charismatic movement which thrives on feelings, we can easily see how this horseman rode in, stampeding over the reverence and traditions of decency and truth. Once this horseman trampled the touchy-feely emotions, common sense and rational thinking were left in the dust. Because the Church did not put the necessary reins on, has run amock in liberal secularism, which if it is about anything, it is about the sanctification and adoration of feelings over truth, justice, morality, Divine Order, and Natural Law.

This society kneels before protecting the feelings of children over educating and raising them correctly as shown by its promotion of psychobabble over school discipline and bilingual education over common sense and research findings that such programs actually hurt children more than they help them. Who cares about the future of these children, on earth and beyond, in comparison to protecting their "feelings"? Is not "compassion" at any cost the true goal? Likewise, this society cares more about the "feelings" of women who are inconvenienced by their pregnancy more than the fact that what is making them "uncomfortable" is an innocent human being resulting from human actions and decisions.

Let us not forget about the "feelings" of those offended by religion, any mention of God or morality, or any image of good versus evil. Who cares if the vast majority of Americans actually prefer to mention God and express their religion when the "feelings" of a few are offended! Likewise, despite research showing that many affirmative action programs harm minorities more than help them, this society runs to protect the "feelings" of those who feel that they have not been treated fairly. Closely allied with this patronizing hypocrisy is the double-standard which allows any clown who calls himself "reverend" to lead a prayer against "racial bias and hatred" inflicted against African Americans while ignoring similar instances of such violence inflicted against Whites by African-Americans. After all, are not the "feelings" of minorities more sexy copy for a media ever ready to fan the flames of racial division?

Again, have not feminists pushed the "hostile work environment" button so laced with "feelings" in sexual harassment cases? Likewise, is not most "hate crime" legislation merely a political tool designed to protect the "feelings" of whatever protected group has sufficient political power and influence? While such legislation was quickly sought in cases of violence against African-Americans and sodomites, for example, it is often unused or less enthusiastically applied where those same groups are the perpetrators rather than the victims. When was the last time you heard the "feelings" of Catholics considered? I guess "feelings" only matter when they belong to the "right" people. As the topping on this venomous cake, do we not now speak of the "feelings" of plants? In all the cases cited above, feelings have usurped common sense, truth, Divine Order, Natural Law, and morality. If this bothers you, tell us how you feel!

The Second Horseman: Unity

I have written elsewhere on the way that The New Order embraces unity to the point of detesting all talk of good and evil, right and wrong, and any kind of comparison or separation. Since rational analysis and judgment requires by its very nature such comparison and separation, The New Order invites not greater knowledge and understanding, but greater ignorance and conformity. It should not be surprising that the greater the adoration and adulation of unity, the greater the moral chaos and confusion. This can easily be demonstrated by comparing Europe's greater emphasis on unity and distaste for talk of good and evil with its respective moral and ethical confusion and deterioration. Even a superficial review of our society will reveal that moral relativism, proportionalism, and practically every other evil that I have written about stems from a misguided adoration of unity over truth and right over absolute truth.

The truth is that one cannot fight something passionately unless one sees that something as evil and if one does not fight passionately and consistently one eventually loses. I will be less willing to sacrifice everything for something I barely care about than for something that means everything to me. In order for something to mean everything for me, I must see that something as critical and central to my purpose and meaning in life. Now my passionate fight may be toward good or evil depending upon what I perceive as my goal. The only such goal that leads to true good is the source of such good which is God Himself. Any other goal will invariably lead to evil or at least apathy neither of which will promote good in any way. In short, just as God divided day and night, light and dark, water and land, animals and humans, and right from wrong, so too we need such division and structure for we are not equipped to make that distinction without God's guidance and help.

Our judgment, actions, and decisions will invariably be tainted with our weak humanity and irrational passions and hence prevent us from making the right moves toward our own salvation. The only sure and true path to that salvation comes when we let God be our "designated driver" by accepting that we are too intoxicated in our own humanity and sin to know what we are doing!

The Third Horseman: Self

The third horseman of The New Order is Self, and this horseman both leads and stems from the other two. Since we only care about ourselves, our feelings become idols of worship and avoiding trouble and promoting popularity and unity become our goals at any cost. Since we focus on our feelings and desires to hold hands and hug everyone, we remain fixed on ourselves as the absolute and only compass of what is right and wrong. That is why satan has been so clever in convincing so many they are safe holding hands at the Our Father in the New Order and hugging everybody around afterwards at the 'Kiss of Peace', which is actually an escape so as not to be alone with our thoughts in preparation to receive Jesus. It once was the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, where all attention was focused on God, but by the time the New Order riders had tinkered and hoofed over the sacrosanct in the corral of Vatican II and then left the barn-door open, they have not only totally changed the landscape, but increased the elevation of the terrain with heretical fertilizer. Today what the New Order calls the 'Eucharistic Celebration' is, in effect, a synthetic self-help psychiatric session to justify the secular direction taken and accommodate man's refusal to leave his comfort zone by telling oneself that things that used to be sins are relative today and therefore not sins; that everyone can be saved without converting to Catholicism through the Sacrament of Baptism.

Such order and divinely-ordained rules go against the self-esteem of today's psyche which has summarily lowered the standards and which the New Order riders have saddled on the rest. This has had a domino effect on forgetting virtues with self elevated above God. Thus this horseman tells us that our moral thermometer need not extend beyond our own nose or our own vision of what is right or wrong, good or bad, or comfortable or uncomfortable, all of which become one and the same in the end. The sin and evil of the so-called Age of Reason and Enlightenment precisely told us that we did not need God to tell us what to do because we, in the words of Marx, are god ourselves.

It is impossible to be like Christ when we are our only universe, when we are all that matters to ourselves. Thus, The New Order is simply the attempt to bring hell to earth while dragging earth to hell!

The Fourth Horseman: Pride

Given the focus on self so evident in everything that the New Order touches, there should be no surprise here. After all, it is out of a chaotic, wanton pride that these fools pretend that The Creator of The Universe can ever be ignored, pushed aside, or offend anyone with any sense at all. After all, it was pride that started it all when lucifer said "I will not serve."

It is out of pride that these charlatans step all over Our Lord's Mystical Body and spit upon His Real Presence at every turn and in every way imaginable. It is out of pride that these ignorant afterthoughts attempt to make The Almighty a footnote in their despicable tale of twisted deception, and it is out of pride that every imbecile since the so-called Enlightenment called himself a god, herself a goddess, or their own sordid version of morality, rights, freedom, equality, choice, and unity nothing but a vile spin on sin and rendition of perdition! Of all of the mysteries of the universe, perhaps the greatest is how these drones can ever imagine that any portion of the dribble that spews from their large mouths and small minds could ever explain, justify, or rationalize their arrogant journey to a warmer, much warmer (one might say hotter than boiling) eternal climate. When it comes to humility, The New Order definetely has no room at the inn!

Conclusion

If the Horsemen of The Apocalypse render images of impending doom and eternal suffering, then the Four Horsemen of The New Order should merit similar infamy, for their harm is no less devastating to our eternal salvation and proximity to our God. To the extent that we focus our moral maturity and standard by our mere feelings, by our desire for unity at all cost, by our adoration of self, and stubborn pride in refusing to admit we are nothing without God, then we will consistently choose sin and death over God and life. Chained to our human weakness and passions, feelings and self will invariably lead us to ruin without the parachute of God's merciful and saving presence. Devoid of the reality that good and evil exist and must be separated, a mindless pursuit of unity will only unite us with evil and doom us to eternal unity with Satan.

If happiness and true purpose rests on our vision of what is important and worthy of veneration and effort, then The New Order's Four Horsemen are about as helpful as astigmatism, glaucoma, and myopia are to sight. Just as astigmatism blurs the distinctions of detail, so too feelings blur right from wrong with the aberration of human weakness and passions. Just as glaucoma kills sight by inflicting pressure, so too a focus on unity kills morality by inflicting the pressure of social acceptance. Just as myopia limits vision to what is near, so too a focus on self alone will limit our ability to see Christ's message of service and sacrifice for others. Just as the fact the senses come from God Who created us, pride seeks to deny that truth and forget the lesson our first parents paid for being deceived by the prideful serpent.

In the end, God and God alone is the only laser treatment Whose Light will correct our moral vision. He and He alone is the lens through which truth and salvation can be focused on the retina of our souls. To believe anything else is simply the blind leading the blind!
