As we approach the despicable 32nd anniversary today of the vilest practice ever defended or promoted by clueless, mindless ghouls devoid of morality and conscience brimming with arrogance, selfishness, and greed, we should consider exactly what is being waved as "choice", "privacy", and "freedom" by demons and moral imbeciles.
The Devil's Irony
It is a well-known fact that the devil loves to mock, ridicule, and copy sacred, holy, and devout practices and beliefs. Examples such as the black mass, various satanic "prayers", the use of "hosts" in such masses, and so-called "priests" of Satanism should be enough to demonstrate this common habit of the evil one. It is clear that the devil basks in taking a sacred, holy, and devout act, belief, or practice and twisting it into an instrument of evil, immorality, and sin. It is obvious that the evil one delights in turning love into hate, service into selfishness, obedience into disobedience, humility into arrogance, and sacrifice into sacrilege. It is in this environment that we proceed in this discussion.
Those of God
We have all seen how those of God honor, praise, request, thank, and adore Him and rightly so for all that is good comes from Him and all that we have has been given to us by Him. We are nothing if not for His boundless mercy and generosity despite our eternal ingratitude and undeserving state. It is in this state that people have offered sacrifice to their God which He accepts as an offering of gratitude and praise as long as it is offered for its true, sincere purpose. We have the examples of animals being offered in sacrifice at the altar in the Bible. We have the enduring example of Abraham attempting to offer even his beloved son as sacrifice in obedience to his God only to be shown that the request was indeed merely a test. It is important to note that our loving and just God did not favor the sacrifice of innocent young even to Him in that case, much less to any low and base reason conjured in the minds and hearts of immoral people.
Of course, the greatest example is the ultimate blood Sacrifice of Our Divine Savior Jesus Christ who died on a cross for our sins and redemption. Sacrifice, then, when sincerely offered, has been a truly devout, holy, and sacred practice. Since that time there is no greater sacrifice offered than the Sublime Mystery of the Altar when the priest, acting as the alter Christus offers Christ to God the Father as an oblation in an unbloody re-enactment of Our Lord's ultimate Sacrifice for us. This is only carried out in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass passed down from Christ to His Apostles and formed by Holy Popes and established unchanged for all time in 1571.
But satan hates the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and set out to do all he could to destroy it and all it stood for.
Satan's Twist
It is in the context of the devil's mocking irony and the genuine place of sacrifice in both our devotion and our salvation that we see yet another example of Satan's gleeful ridicule. The vile practice of abortion, which represents every facet of sin and evil which the evil one could ever conjure up, is nothing if not a twisted mockery of the very practice of sacrifice which is at the center of honoring God Almighty and following His Son Jesus Christ.!
Does not the slaughter of an innocent child at the altar of selfish arrogance by a priest of secular medicine in offering to the god of self and disobedience represent a sinful sacrifice to the devil himself? Is not the lifeless body of a once vibrant child of God the victim offering to the evil one? Does not this practice represent the most vile, heinous, despicable aberration and mockery of the concept of sacrificial offering?
Just as innocent life was offered in The Old Testament, at Bethlehem, and especially at Calvary as a sacrificial blood offering to God Almighty, so too innocent life is daily offered in death mills as a sacrificial blood offering to the devil in the form of selfishness, greed, materialism, disobedience, and disrespect for life.
Just as the innocent blood spilled in Bethlehem and especially at Calvary sprinkled those in God's Grace with new life and those devoid of such Grace with the stain of responsibility and accountability, so too the innocent blood spilled at abortion clinics sprinkles Pro-Life forces with new fervor and Pro-death forces with new sin and guilt.
Just as the reasons why the sacrifices at Bethlehem and Calvary were necessary are foreign to earthly ears devoid of God's Word, so too the reasons why the sacrifices at death mills today are evil are foreign to earthly ears devoid of that same Word.
Yes, abortion is merely the devil's brand of sacrifice which clearly demonstrates his brand of love. This is a love of pleasure, of self, of arrogance, of disobedience, of spin for sin, and of rationalization.
Satan's Sacrifice
Abortion is nothing if not merely Satan's fingerprints on this earth. It is merely the most obvious, clear touch of the evil one on a people so intoxicated with sin, self, and worldly things that they have lost the ability to discern The Prince of Peace from the prince of darkness. They cannot see that he uses the proverbial pitchfork to stoke the coals of hate. His sacrifice is abortion, the continual slaughter of the innocents.
We are all sinners who constantly fight the daily struggle to hold our hands from once again crucifying our Lord. Often we fail in that struggle and strike His Sacred Hands with the hammer of our sin and ingratitude. God's mercy and Christ's sacrifice allow us to once again rise and be cleansed of that weakness. No matter what rocky terrain we must travel along our own Via Dolorosa, we can take comfort in knowing where it leads is to everlasting life with God. However, the devil's "via delerious" does not lead to salvation. It leads to perdition and nothing less. While abortion is a vile mockery of sacrificial offering, its ability to emulate and ridicule what comes from God ends with the murder of God's innocent children. They will hopefully be with their creator as victims of heinous sin. It is the perpetrators of this despicable practice who will be with their leader, Satan, where they will harvest the fruits of their twisted sacrifice to the prince of irony, of corruption, and of mockery. It is their "choice" after all!
We have heard so many news stories over the years about the possibilities of overturning the abominable abortion initiative - Roe v. Wade. Is it going to happen soon? Not if we assume others will fight the fight or run the race as the Apostle Paul speaks of in this Sunday's Epistle. We must take up our cross daily and follow Our Lord through thick and thin. Right now it's pretty thick because so many lives are at stake - born and unborn. We must all stay alert and active on our knees for prayer without action is not fulfilled and action without prayer is useless. Both are necessary 'wings' for carrying us onward in the battle and the realization that those are souls in our sights whom we're fighting for and the fact is that Satan is playing for keeps!
