Who's On First?
Part Five
Those magnificent comic geniuses Bud and Lou would turn over in their graves at the sight of the modern bumbling duo of Jesse and Al coming in from the bull pen. Jackson and Sharpton can throw the flames of inciting distrust and unrest, but can they take the heat when they get sent down? Way, way down? Rather than providing comic relief, they bring only more baggage with questions galore and it doesn't matter who, what or why, they're gung-ho to stir the coals of dissension as long as there's a pot of gold at the end of their rant.

"All of this would be quite humorous except for the fact that its victims are countless innocent people who rally like clueless sheep around these two 'shepherds' of sin and spin. Like the Abbott and Costello routine, this thin and rotund duo tell tales that spin confusion out of truth and turn that confusion into a false reality of their deliberate making. When cornered for the truth, we are directed to 'I don't know' on third base."

Editor's Note: Gabriel Garnica continues his weekly multi-part series which we've dubbed "Incorrigible Dirigibles" in comparing the liberal factions to blimps full of hot air which nevertheless cast a dark shadow over today's values and morals. In the manner of the Tower of Babel-like zeppelin "Hindenburg," so also these pompous, progressive windbags are full of gaseous, nauseous ideas that can be most dangerous if one seeks to hook a ride on such nonsense. In that same vein, they have nowhere to go but down. One must realize they are highly inflammable and the nearer they float toward the fires of hell, the more combustible souls become who are in their path, beneath them, or, God forbid, their passenger. This week Gabriel gives equal time to the guys, if you will, after two installments on dangerous femme fatales, he turns his sights on two clowns who are, in truth, tragic figures. While Laurel and Hardy, then Abbot and Costello always represented the thin guy and roly-poly guy respectively and you had empathy for them when they made fun of their own follies, the thin guy-roly-poly duo of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are no laughing matter for they make fun of others' follies while preaching their creed "what is yours is mine." Gabriel shows how these two "incorrigible dirigibles" will smother any press conference with the smoke of oppression but when the haze clears it's evident it's all smoke and mirrors, leaving even more folks more confused than ever. That is why Gabriel equates their razzle-dazzle skimble-skamble double speak to Bud and Lou's classic piece, because either the liberal media hasn't got a clue or the fix is in. Gabriel explains in his fifth installment

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were a legendary comedy duo who showed the absurdities of everyday life through humor. Their baseball routine Who's on First is a masterpiece of word play and double speak which shows how confusion can be created from apparently innocent associations and names. This routine has been translated into over 30 languages because its message flies above time and culture. That message is: confusion is comical, especially when it is presented as reality by trained performers. I once heard someone refer to these kings of comedy as a "perfect 10" because of their flawless talent and, not co-incidentally, their appearance, since Abbott was thin like a one and Costello was round like a 0! The world truly lost two great talents when these two comics passed away, but we should not despair, for we have a new "perfect 10" pair of clowns to replace them, but they aren't humorous in any way unless you count on the devil's laughs.

Trained Performers

Who has not seen the 'Reverends' Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton protesting at some racial bias rally, leading some march against harm inflicted on African-Americans, spewing forth cries of injustice, embezzlement, manipulation, and cover ups against minority victims? Who has not heard Jesse Jackson do his impression of Robert Frost turned rap artist with a twist of Johnnie Cochran as he waxes poetic to awed listeners? Who has not witnessed Al Sharpton roll in and out of media spotlights like an opportunistic stone gathering the moss of public attention? Have not these two heroes of racial protest, these mavens of media manipulation, these prefenders of the downtrodden filled our lives with rich memories? There can be no doubt that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are trained performers, for they are skilled at pretending to be noble soldiers fighting injustice, racial hatred, and societal division even while they fan its flames and profit in the process.

The Real Faces Behind The Masks

In Shakedown: Exposing The Real Jesse Jackson (Regnery Publishing), Kenneth R. Timmerman presents Jackson as a liar, a manipulator, and an intimidator who has taken his craft from early associations with a street gang to the halls of the major corporations he intimidates regularly. Gerard Jackson, Editor of The New Australian, has called Jackson a "race baiting hypocrite" and "problem profiteer" who began by lying about cradling a dying Martin Luther King in his arms and just kept on trucking. Jeff Jacobs, columnist for The Boston Globe has called Sharpton " a vicious liar and dangerous bigot" who fans the flames of racial division for personal gain and publicity. As would be expected, the liberal media refers to these two shining reverends of rage as "civil rights leaders" who serve as spiritual advisors to presidents ( Jackson to Clinton..what a combination) and leaders in prayer services ( Sharpton every other week ).

Confusion Presented as Reality

There is no doubt that this nation has racial problems and that prejudice and injustice prevail, but these things exist because this society has rejected God's Word and Will, not because it has ignored the advice of these two fools so criticized by many of their own race. Both men profit financially and politically from pouring gasoline on the fires of racial division, from creating confusion even as they claim to present light, and from then presenting that confusion and those lies as reality to buttress their messages of hate and revenge hidden beneath despicable spiritual rhetoric. Did not Al Sharpton fling slander against Steven Pagones in the false Tawana Brawley racial fiasco years ago? Did Sharpton not stir unrest in the Crown Heights riots later on leading to death and harm? Simply put, if racial tensions ended in 24 hours and people of all colors hugged and kissed, these two hucksters would be reduced to the used car salesmen they truly are! For the only color they promote is green as in the color of moula, you know, filthy lucre.

Here we go again

As reported by Michelle Malkin, these two "superheroes of the civil rights establishment", these "raging reverends" have not spoken a word about the current scandal in which government grant money earmarked for inner city youth and seniors was funneled instead to Air America (AA), the liberal radio network. It seems that AA and Inner City Broadcasting have a lucrative deal together and Percy Sutton, the New York media and political mogul and co-founder of Inner City Broadcasting has been a great supporter and aide to each of our "perfect 10" jokers. As Malkin so eloquently puts it, if a conservative radio network stole money from inner city youth and seniors and used it to line the pockets of white rich people, the mainstream media and these two 'heroes' would be all over it like Sharpton on a baked good. I guess fighting for minority youth and seniors takes a back seat to making some money, keeping powerful friends, and practicing hypocrisy lessons. After all, hypocrisy is the real religion of our "perfect 10", since they only fight injustice against African-Americans inflicted by whites, real and created, and ignore everything else.

Tragic Comedy

All of this would be quite humorous except for the fact that its victims are countless innocent people who rally like clueless sheep around these two 'shepherds' of sin and spin. Like the Abbott and Costello routine, this thin and rotund duo tell tales that spin confusion out of truth and turn that confusion into a false reality of their deliberate making. When cornered for the truth, we are directed to third base "I don't know."

Aided by a liberal media that adorns these two frauds as civil rights leaders when the only "right" they make is "right to the bank", Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will continue to be this society's superheroes of racial justice. After all, they have each demonstrated numerous times just how well they can leap over buildings and fly through the sky to land at press conferences highlighting yet another racial horror. As both our heroes of hypocrisy jostle for the microphones, I am sure they will both ask "who's on first?" What do they think God will ask when they're placed in the spotlight before the Divine Judge for the final time? There won't be an encore and their pratfall could be a long, long way down because from on high the Great Shortstop will tell them the score. *
