Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady
This issue covers the gloriou Feast of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Wednesday, a Holy Day of Obligation on August 15th. The two days preceding the Assumption are dedicated to martyrs. Monday commemorates the martyrs Pope Saint Pontian, 18th successor of the Keeper of the Keys, Saint Hippolytus, priest, and Saint Cassian. Tuesday is the memorial of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, the holy priest who formed the Immaculata and was dedicated to Our Lady throughout his life that ended in the ultimate sacrifice at Auschwitz in 1942. Social reform is only the bandaid for effects as the causes are left to fester
"The reform of outward conduct and environment is essential, and it is to this that much civil law is ordained. But it really only deals with the effects and not with the causes; social reformation is only superficial, it is like cutting off the tops of the weeds while the roots are left in the ground. Much social reform attempts to cure problems such as crime and juvenile delinquency by changing environment, such as building more dance halls or swimming pools."
Pope's Intentions for August
The Pope's General Intention for August 2001 is Legislators and leaders whose decisions are guided by God. How timely considering the stone-walling by the American bishops in calling legislators and leaders to task and the impending decision by President George W. Bush on whether to sign the death warrant for America by allowing federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, or to do the right thing which the Pope urged him to do during his face to face meeting last week. The Holy Father's Missionary intention is Use of China's own great tradtion to enrich the spirituality of the Church in China. On this intention we must pray for China shows little signs of permitting religious freedom despite the rhetoric.
The Message, Meaning & Medals of Rue de Bac
The Age of Marian Apparitions began in 1830 at Rue de Bac. Now this time of Our Lady's visits are coming to a close. Godincidentally her messages all tie in with the visions to Saint Catherine Laboure and the completion of the Medal of the Virgin of the Globe per Mary's request for a medal to be cast depicting her offering a golden globe to the Heavenly Father from all her children as the Advocate, Mediatrix and CoRedemptrix. Our Lady foretold of these times over a century and a half ago!
Why was the Blessed Virgin Mary weeping so when she appeared to visionaries Maximim and Melanie on September 19, 1846? Read her words and you too will weep as you better understand 155 years later how Our Lady foretold of these times we are in when "Rome would lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist." Blessed Pope Pius IX realized this and declared, "Unless you do penance, you shall all perish." Both the Mother of God and previous Roman Pontiffs have warned us and yet we have not listened. We reap what we sow and, as Pope Pius XII said on the Centenary in 1946, "The Madonna in Tears came to abjure her children to enter resolutely the path of conversion to her Divine Son, and of reparation for so many sins that offend the August and Eternal Majesty." "In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph"

Is Medjugorje the final piece of the puzzle?
Since the Feast of Saint John the Baptist on June 24, 1981 the Mother of God is purported to be appearing to visionaries in the Bosnian village of Medjugorje. As with all private revelation not officially recognized yet by the Church, we respectfully recognize and accept the final authority regarding apparitions, locutions and prophecies presently being reported around the world rests with the Holy See of Rome and the perennial Magisterium of Holy Mother Church to whose judjment we humbly and obediently submit. The Last 200 Years: The Age of Marian Apparitions
From Rue de Bac to Lourdes through Medjugorje and Betania, Our Lady has been pleading with her children. She has consistently affirmed Church doctrine, warning of dire consequences if we did not repent, convert our hearts, turn back to her Divine Son Jesus, do penance, and stay in the state of sanctifying grace through the sacraments.
