Making Sense of Sensus Catholicus
In conjunction with Ember Week in Lent, we bring you a meditative essay on mortification - both interiorly and exteriorly - by Father Dominic Radecki of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen. Along with his twin brother Father Franscisco Radecki, he is the author of a powerful new book released a few months ago which is an easy-to-read compendium on Church history from Peter to present time. It also devotes the second half of the book to the who, where, when, what, how and why of Vatican II. In this feature today, first published in the Spring issue of the Reign of Mary last year, Fr. Dominic points out that if we do not bridle our self-will through the practice of interior mortification and conformity to God’s will, we cannot advance in the spiritual life. Because of our self-will, we will be destroying with one hand the spiritual edifice which we are trying to construct with the other hand. Father provides examples and exemplications of mighty saints in bringing home his point in his article Interior Mortification and Conformity to the Will of God
The Fatima File
With the death of Sister Lucia de Jesus dos Santos, we felt it important to keep her memory alive with the unfinished business of the Third Secret. In today's Fatima File we bring you a trilogy of articles exposing the cracks in the thin-skinned shell of Modern Rome's "interpetation" that so insidiously avoids any mention of apostasy in the Church. The first article is a release from the Fatima Center and the second part is an interesting twist on the secret that was released in which one of the leading Mariologist theologians, albeit Novus Ordo, refutes Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger's interpretation. The piece was composed by Ron and Kirstie Finster as part of their series on "The Third Secret of Fatima." The third and final piece is from WorldNetDaily, written most probably shortly after the 'Third Secret' was "revealed" and is a strong denial of what it really contained as Father Gommar DePauw, founder of the Catholic Traditionalist movement in America and a charter member of the Tower of Trent Hall of Honor, debunks the new Vatican's spin. With the passing of the last Fatima seer, we present the three pieces together during this week of her interment. Did the Third Secret of Fatima Die With Sister Lucy?
Christ or chaos
Cardinal O'BrienCardinal O'Connor
The strong faith and backbone of Saint Thomas More and Saint John Fisher has been abandoned for the politically correct pandering by the modern primates of the United Kingdom. Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey exposes the hypocrisy and heresy of these new cardinals of newChurch over the impending 'marriage' of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, a former 'Catholic' who obtained no annulment and cannot possibly receive one for Canon Law - even the watered-down 1983 Code - does not allow such escapes. If so, Henry VIII could easily have disposed of Catherine of Aragon to marry Anne Boleyn before tiring of her. Said the Sovereign Pontiff Pope Clement VII to the English monarch at the time: "If I had two souls, I would gladly give you the annulment, but since I have but one I cannot for a Heavenly kingdom is more important to me than an earthly one. I will not betray my Heavenly King and His Holy Church." But New Order red-hats Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor of England and Ireland's Cardinal Keith Patrick Michael O'Brien don't think in that 'medieval way.' They reject the heroism of the English martyrs and show themselves even more protestant than their Anglican counterparts, with the exception of the looney Archbishop of Canterbury. Tom shows they are not the only cowards as he points out the same hypocrisy on this side of the pond. He sets the Novus Ordinarians on their ears with solid Church doctrine and the infallible Word of God in his column If Only Henry VIII Could Have Waited for Cormac Cardinal Murphy O'Connor and Keith Cardinal O'Brien
Ember Wednesday
Gabriel's Clarion
of For Ember Wednesday Gabriel Garnica reminds us of the why the True Church has Ember Days during the liturgical year and why Ember Days in Lent are the most pertinent in equating with Our Lord's suffering. Gabriel explains why suffering is a key component in unlocking the door to Heaven. In fact, Our Lord clearly pointed this out in Matthew 16: 24-25, Mark 8: 34-35, and Luke 9: 23, "If any man will follow Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life for My sake, and for the gospel, shall save it." Gabriel shows how it is not a matter of finding oneself as the world promotes with so much division, but rather in losing oneself in giving in to the will of God that graces are multiplied a hundred-fold. He illustrates how the narrow way is the only way in his column for Ember Wednesday that is the sum of salvation in Equation for Eternity

At last we can provide you a regular news wire from a Traditional Catholic perspective. Thanks to John Grasmeier of AngelQueen.org, he has provided a news ticker that updates daily news pertaining to Catholic headlines from a Traditional Catholic perspective. For The Daily Catholic it is a perfect match and we are delighted that this is available to our readers for things are happening so fast this editor cannot possibly keep up with all the madness and bizarre events and statements in the conciliar church. We encourage you to also check out Fr. Moderator's daily commentaries at Traditio.com for he is usually on top of whatever event has come down the pike and calls them pretty much as we see them here at The Daily Catholic in striving to uphold and preserve the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church as part of the Resistance to the Revolution of Vatican II.

EyeOpeners is a new feature in 2005 to keep our readers informed. We provide you with articles from all over the world so you can see the Revolution for yourself and we add our own brief commentary when it fits the situation in order to magnify for the reader the problems that grow more evident each day. Total Protestantism of Roman Protestantism a fait accomplis in Switzerland. Who's next?
The term "Swiss Guard" has taken on an entire different meaning with the announcement that the Modern Roman curia has endorsed Switzerland's embrace of Protestantism by permitting non-Catholics to receive Communion and allowing lay people to give sermons! Basically this has been going on in many Novus Ordo parishes and, just as in everything else in the New Order, sooner or later every abomination will be accepted. No wonder Our Lord called what occurred on April 3, 1969 the "abomination of desolation standing in the holy place" (Matthew 24: 15). The inmates are in charge of the asylum both in the parishes and the papal chambers. It isn't only the Swiss who need guarding. What truly needs to be guarded - safeguarded - is the Sacred Deposit of the Faith which the modernists have been heisting over the past 40 years until, as we see in Switzerland, clueless 'Catholics' of the Novus Ordo persuasion are going to finally realize they are Roman Protestants who are going to find their souls bankrupt if they continue to patronize those Pagan-Masonic rites.
Last Fatima Seer Gone But Not Forgotten

Sister Lucia dos Santos peacefully passed away Sunday at Convent in Coimbra. One wonders what does God have in store next?

Millions around the world are mourning the passing of Sister Lucia dos Santos, the Fatima visionary who experienced the Fatima Apparitions and to whom the Third Secret was entrusted by the Mother of God. While praying for her soul, they should mourn her passing as a sign from God that she has seen the fulfillment of the Third Secret. That fulfillment is not the tripe spun to the world in 2000 about persecution of the Church and the attack on the pope, that already happened before any of the conciliar popes took title. No, Sr. Lucia in her heart knew that the fulfillment was the Apostasy in the Church which is so prevalent today. Time and history will prove this. For now we can only pray she will be afforded a proper Requiem Mass in the Latin tradition she was weaned on in Portugal, and not the let's all celebrate white messes that are characteristic of the Novus Ordo. For the sake of souls everywhere we pray for the former. Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine: et lux perpetua luceat eis.

We are proud to be able to provide for our readers the full Ordinary and Proper of each day's Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the Immemorial Latin Mass in the Traditional Calendar.

The Church Law of Fast and Abstinence for the US

(Adopted by the heirarchy of the United States, November 1958)

On Abstinence:

Everyone over 7 years of age is bound to observe the law of abstinence. Complete abstinence is to be observed on Fridays, Ash Wednesday, Holy Saturday and the Vigils of the Immaculate Conception and Christmas. On days of complete abstinence, meat and soup or gravy made from meat may not be used at all. Partial abstinence is to be observed on Ember Wednesdays and Saturdays and the vigil of Pentecost. On days of partial abstinence meat and soup or gravy made from meat may be taken only once a day at the principal meal.

On Fast:

Everyone over 21 and 59 years of age is bound to observe the law of fast. The days of fast are all the days in Lent, except Sundays. On days of fast only one full meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength may be taken according to each one's need, but together they should not equal another full meal. Meat may be taken at the principal meal on a day of fast except on days of complete abstinence. Eating between meals is not permitted but liquids, including milk and fruit juices are allowed. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. In doubt concerning fast or abstinence, a parish priest or confessor should be consulted.

The Fatima File
In commemoration of the death of Sister Lucia dos Santos, we felt it important to bring you today a "Gem from the Past" - an essay by Mark Fellows, the author of one of the most definitive works on the entire scope of Fatima, titled "Fatima at Twilight." With her passing, twilight has become a bitter night as has been documented in this feature series on these pages. Fellow's piece laid out the arguments regarding Sister Lucia and how it didn't calculate then with the swashbuckling Vatican spin that was disseminated through the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith's The Message of Fatima...and it doesn't add up now. In truth, there are too many holes in their theory and the hull of their deception to make it sail. Sadly, the propaganda has dulled and deceived so many into believing what in truth is a false flag raised to deceive souls and cover up the real intentions of the modernist buccaneers. Through the good graces and permission of John Vennari of Catholic Family News we were able to bring you this in three parts. Today we bring you the essay in whole as we present Fellows' excellent, fact-filled feature which exposes the facades on the cardboard hull of the modernists' pirate ship, illustrated so well in Lucy and the Pirates
Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey pens a heart-rendering tribute to the long-suffering servant of Our Lady of Fatima, the seer Sister Lucia dos Santos who passed away this past Sunday just five weeks shy of her 98th birthday. Tom shares his own experience on how he was first introduced to the importance of Fatima in his earliest parochial schooling and how that childlike devotion and foundation in the faith in carrying out Our Lady's messages at Fatima have sustained him when everything else was falling apart. He recalls the wisdom of Cardinal John Carberry as late as 1982 in reminding his fellow bishops in America that there was only one sure-fire peace plan and that was to heed all the Blessed Mother imparted at Fatima. Already the modernists had infiltrated and the poor cardinal was laughed at for such superstition by men who should have been living the Faith but had already sold out. Tom writes "Living at a time when popes redefine various doctrines and cardinals congratulate members of royal families entering upon illicit marriages, we must flee like the Fatima children to the sure refuge of Our Lady's Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, praying the Rosary with attentiveness and fervor as we keep the Five First Saturdays and pray that our children may yet live to be the beneficiaries of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the chief fruits of which will be the restoration of the Social Reign of Christ the King in the world and the restoration of Tradition within the heart of Holy Mother Church." That is the key to carrying on the campaign lived so faithfully and spread by Sister Lucia as Tom explains in his column Our Lady's Suffering Messenger: Sister Lucia of Fatima

Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica addresses an issue that vexes many and confuses the masses and that is how can a minority rule, especially the way it does today? Polls are taken and the majority would seem to favor the forbidding of abortion and sodomy. Yet, the minority rules and it does so, as Gabriel explains, through political power, influence, and social/cultural appeal spun by progressivist agendas from the sodomites, abortionists, and anti-Christian camps. But try as they might, no might can enable them in ultimate victory for they will always be a minority when opposing God Who is the Majority. The more oppressed a minority might be, if that minority - like the early Christians or Traditional Catholics today - is in accord with the divine will, then they will never be a minority but always in Heaven's majority. Gabriel illustrates examples from Gideon and Machabees to modern times to bring home that point for "only minority struggles which emerge from God Almighty, His Divine Will, and the teachings of Christ can lead to ultimate moral success and eternal salvation!" The conclusion, as he syllogizes so well, is that there can be no majority without God and with God one can never be considered a minority for, as Gabriel proves, God is A Majority of Three in One!
Christ or chaos
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey acknowledges what many of us in our journey towards the truth have discovered and others are finally beginning to discover: many, many of the things that John Paul II has done over his 26-year pontificate and even before, not only fly in the face of the Sacred Deposit of the Faith, but were strongly condemned by recent reliable Sovereign Pontiffs. He proffers the most recent statement by Karol Wojtyla issued on the heels of his return to the Vatican after a touch-and-go fragile 10-day stay at Gemelli Hospital that the French Government "permits the Church in France to fulfill its own mission with confidence and serenity, and to take an ever more active role in the life of society, respecting the competencies of each." John Paul II said thus on the 100th anniversary of the separation of Church and State about a once thoroughly Catholic country - the eldest daughter of the Church, Our Lady's beloved France. Two years after France sold out, Tom documents what the holy St. Pius X asserted in his 1907 encyclical to the French Bishops Une Fois Encore. His Holiness' words are the inevitable condemnation of John Paul's actions and words in his most recent praising of secularism. Tom also adds the words of the holy Patron of France St. Louis IX as well as Pope Leo XIII. It was obvious that John Paul II had embraced the state with his statement last summer in France on his trip to Lourdes. He met with Jacques Chirac and proclaimed the Masonic cry of the French Revolution, "Liberty, Equality and Fraternity" in the great brotherhood of man. Tom relates the hard truth of the deception in his most recent column Forgotten Popes, Redefined Doctrines
Sunday
"Qui legit, intelligat"
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the First Sunday of Lent, he focuses on the Gospel from Matthew in which there were two 'spirits' present - the good: the Holy Ghost; the bad - the devil who tempted our Lord in the desert. God knows the evil one has been tempting every one of us during this 40-year time in the desert of deception and destruction of the Church thanks to Vatican II, which Father refers to as the bad spirit - the "spirit of Vatican II" and how we can know them by their fruits. Father emphasizes that we need to realize this and be very, very leery and suspicious of the false prophets who would lead us away from the constituted evangelic traditions and infrangible truths handed down. He cites the Fear of the Lord instilled in that holy doctor Saint Teresa of Avila and if she was worried about fearing hell, then we sure should be. That, as Father illustrates with the Roman Protestant church's total relaxation and abandonment of the necessity for fast, abstinence and penance, has made millions of souls ripe for satan's snares. Father reminds us of St. Peter's words on the virtues and how they can bulk us up with legal spiritual steroids, if you will, to enable us to fend off the beast when he comes calling, tempting. "Vade Satana!" Father explains in his sermon "Now is the day of salvation"

Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica extends the celebration of Lourdes with a column on that great virtue of humility which pays the greatest dividends spiritually. He upholds as an ideal role model the humble peasant visionary of Lourdes - the holy young Bernadette whose body remains incorrupt today in Nevers, France. Throughout her life she remained humble and an edification to all that humility bears the greatest fruit. It takes a humble heart to obediently dig in the mud at Our Lady's request; it also takes faith. Bernadette had both and was duly rewarded with Heavenly bliss, though she considered herself a sinner. That, in a nutshell, is the essence of sainthood: sinners striving to be holy. Thanks to her holy humility and obedience millions have been healed by the waters and graces of Lourdes. Gabriel shows the contradictions of a proud world that flies in the face of those striving for humility. Yet humility is the only thing we can bank on for just as Proverbs and Our Lord, as well as St. Peter, have affirmed. To be rich we need Humility: Heaven's Currency

The Straight Stuff
Griff Ruby presents the second part of his essay on how Lumen Gentium changed everything. Today he shows how the very phrase "subsists in" within that Vatican II document not only separated the signers and those who embraced all the New Order stands for from their former identity with the Church, but also in the same exact breath delegated jurisdiction to authentic clerics who function "outside their confines." It is this latter part which is most crucial for the life of the Church and is, at the same time, least known or understood by Catholics. Part one merely set up the background for that. The people's "picture" of what is going on needs to change and in this second part Griff reveals how we can know that all of our truly faithful and valid Catholic bishops, all of who but one function "outside the confines" of the new Vatican institution, nevertheless truly DO possess the Apostolic mission and the ecclesiastical authority to go forth teaching all the nations and baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, exactly as the Apostles of old. As for the new Vatican institution, it is rapidly becoming all the more and more merely an ecumenical epidermis that may wither. He explains in Part Two of What is your picture?
Exspectans exspectavimus
Inside The Vatican Staff, headed by editor Robert Moynihan has broken a story that John Paul II has confided he will canonize Pope Pius XII before he dies,"I will not die before I canonize Pope Pius XII." This must come as a shock to most Traditional Catholics who revere Papa Pacelli, but to make him a saint so quickly would not be prudent, especially by the likes of those who have usurped the Sacred Deposit of the Faith which Pius guarded so meticulously even though he realized the enemy had already penetrated within. If this story is true, and we have every reason to believe it is since ITV has been trustworthy in their reports in the past, it shows the enigma that is Karol Wojtyla. On one hand he practically gives the shop away and in another he agitates those very ones he's patronized such as the Jews who, among them, are many anti-Pius XII forces. It also gives credence why Modern Rome would be willing to abandon the stipulation of mandatory miracles to qualify for sainthood since JP2's time is running very short and the only way he can bullheadedly ram through Pius XII's process would be to bypass the necessary third miracle...or fabricate one. Nothing is beyond the deception of newChurch. Not only that, but he could be thinking that after he's gone, without the requirement of a miracle, his own canonization procedure could move along in the fast lane, prompted by the papolators who have already canonized him in their minds. From one who once thought that way, not so fast. Where is the 'Devil's Advocate' when you need him? We have placed this ITV Exclusive within our feature Exspectans exspectavimus for we have long waited with anticipation for Modern Rome to acknowledge Eternal Rome as the God-given sole authority in upholding the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church without compromise. Moynihan files the story Pius XII Now on Fast Track to Become a Saint

Transition to Tradition
On the feast of Saint Scholastica, whose very name represents education, we present a countersyllabus to promoting equality in education today by Bishop Richard Williamson. Written on September 1, 2001, when he was Rector of St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, it might very well infuriate feminists, but what he writes is truly Traditional Catholic teaching and common sense. Once you read his reasonings you'll have to admit he's right even though what he writes goes against the grain of everything the past generations have been taught. It's about time the tide is turned and women repositioned on the pedestal God intended for them in emulating the Blessed Virgin Mary. His words hold even more weight today when we can see the total corruption on campus thanks to the very fact that the balance of nature has been upturned. Why? He explains in his letter The Unwomaning of Woman
Ash Wednesday
Catholic PewPOINT
Editor Michael Cain offers a glimpse of how so much has disintegrated over the past 40 years and that few actually realize how much has been lost. That is because "they" have sought to erase all memories of the true Faith from the minds and hearts of millions upon millions upon millions, generation after generation. On this day when we are reminded so visibly that we are dust and unto dust we shall return, it is important to realize that we must fight to remember and preserve the Truths and Traditions of Holy Mother Church before we too become victims of the deprogramming experiment wrought by the "principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness: against the spirits of wickedness in high places." It also bears watching considering the concerted effort by the enemies of Jesus to rid America of Christ in the interest of tolerance and diversity. Cain offers three films to realize this fact in his Ash Wednesday Editorial "The Forgotten"
Gabriel's Clarion
Gabriel Garnica reminds us of a devotion forgotten by many, especially on the day assigned by Pope Pius XII for that day was Shrove Tuesday; a day when most have ignored the liturgy and rejected grace in courting satan's sirens by reveling in the bawdy and tawdry carnival atmosphere of Mardi Gras. With every year the confessional lines grow shorter as they party harder and forget the reason for Shrove Tuesday, trying to attribute that day to anything goes in the mode of 'eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you may die.' Yeah, right. You may. Are you prepared? That is the whole purpose of Catholicism, the purpose of Ash Wednesday and Lent, the purpose for Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus. Papa Pacelli had a reason for placing the historical feast of the Holy Face of Jesus on Shrove Tuesday, but so few realize that. Gabriel wants more souls to come to grips with the fact of how much we need His Sacred Face in a Faceless World
Tuesday
Making Sense of Sensus Catholicus
Today we bring you the second part of "A Catholic Pope" by Father James F. Wathen, pioneering traditional author of The Great Sacrilege. On this day of Mardi Gras - Shrove Tuesday - with the emphasis on preparing for Lent by shedding vice, Father Wathen encourages the soul with a celebration of what Catholicism truly is and should always be in application under the guidance of a truly Catholic Pope. In reading through his eleven points of what joy and peace of soul will return when a Catholic Pope once again sits on the Throne of Peter, it is enough to willingly and enthusiastically embrace the sackcloth and ashes of the next 45 days. For though these are dark and terrible times, there is a light at the end of this barren tunnel and Catholicism will have its glorious day in the sun again just as the Son has promised when victory over the revolution will come. It's guaranteed! Father clearly explains in Part Two of his essay sent by Maria Hughes. A Catholic Pope
On the BattleLine
Atila Sinke Guimarăes presents an interesting perspective on why so many Jewish leaders gathered at the end of last month in Rome to pay tribute to John Paul II. Openly they proclaimed what we pointed out last week in how the Jews changed the Catholic Faith. We all know the Catholic Faith cannot be changed. Ergo, what the Jewish leaders influenced was not Catholic, but a hybrid that has posed as 'Catholic' but does not possess the four indelible Marks of the Church. Since only the Catholic Church founded by Christ can and does possess these Marks, and since the church of Vatican II does not have all four Marks, it cannot possibly be the True Church. While John Paul II probably thought the rabbis' praise was all about him, it was really in affirming their superiority over Catholicism and the rejection of Our Lady of the Miracle which resulted in the conversion of one of the most influential Jews and close confidants of the infamous Rothschilds, enablers of Freemasonry. Until Vatican II the Holy See unofficially accepted what the Italians call Madonna del Miracolo and the institution the converted Jew Alphonse Ratisbonne founded - Congregation of Our Lady of Sion. It was specifically established to convert Jews to the True Faith. But with the ecumania of Vatican II all calls for proselytizing the "perfidious Jews" has been halted in the futile effort to please man, not God. Atila points out the "great symbolic outrage to Holy Mother Church" this meeting and Karol Wojtyla's acceptance of the rabbis' authority illustrate. He explains in his latest Bird's Eye View column at his site John Paul II "Blessed" by the Rabbis

With the beginning of Lent, we don't need to tell you that Our Lord sheds tears because so many souls still do not know the Truth. Because of that the light of Tradition grows dimmer as the weather patterns and natural disasters grow stronger. With your donations to The Daily Catholic and Our Lady's intercession, you can help to save souls, brighten the path to Tradition, and dry a tear or two from Jesus' holy face, lest those of you, who have the Truth and have been blessed with the means to help, might have to try to explain your selfishness at your Particular Judgment. Think and pray over it as we ask you to remember this apostolate for charitable giving during this time when the dollar is stretched tight with donations to help the victims of the Tsunami, which must take priority. Dr. Droleskey's book G.I.R.M. Warfare has just been released this week. In it, he provides a paragraph by paragraph analysis of the 1997 General Instruction to the Roman Missal. This was first published originally between March of 2001 and June of 2003 in Christ or Chaos and also ran sequentially as "The Germs of G.I.R.M. here. It has now been revised somewhat and expanded to include articles relevant to the necessity of restoring the Traditional Latin Mass, G.I.R.M. Warfare is the perfect gift to give to your friends and relatives who think nothing is wrong with the Novus Ordo or that the "next document" from Rome will solve the problems of liturgical abuses that have their origin in the Novus Ordo Missae itself.
