Part Fifteen: Heeding the Heavenly Signs and Warnings manifested through nature

The Feature Article, begun in the inaugural issue, deals with the state of the Church. we continue probing the question that has perplexed the Magisterium and the laity for the past 30 years as the liberal element has left its mark, effecting changes that have seemingly watered down the "Roman Catholic" traditions. Yet, God in His Infinite Wisdom, has allowed this to happen for a specific purpose. He has been preparing us in a special way by sending His very Own Mother to guide us and remind us of our roots. Through perseverance, prayer and loyalty to Holy Mother Church headed by the Holy Father John Paul II by the faithful who will not compromise, the pendulum is beginning to swing back toward the conservative side, paralleling the same recent shift in American politics. In this fifteenth installment of this on-going feature series, we look at the Heavenly signs and warnings God manifests today through the recent weather patterns of nature, as prophecied in Sacred Scripture and private revelation, specifically at LaSalette. In subsequent installments we will examine the storm of controversy swirling within the Church. It is a reminder to those who have forgotten how the evil one seeks to destroy all that God wills, and the best way to do this is to destroy the Roman Catholic Church above all else, while further annihilating man's good will by fueling hatred and controversy in other denominations as well. Our Lady said at LaSaletter, "Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist." That, in itself is frightening enough. But we can take solace in that we can find refuge in the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts as we earnestly pray for the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart which will usher in the glorious Reign of the Sacred Heart of her Divine Son. This installment continues an intensive look at the warnings of LaSalette which are pertinent for all of us today in 1996.

Paralleling our series on "THE AGE OF MARIAN APPARITIONS", we continue with the warnings begun in the last issue through the messages at LaSalette which have been termed the "SECRETS OF LA SALETTE" but they are secrets no longer for all that Our Lady warned of has sadly occurred. However in 1846, Our Lady gave the visionary Melanie Mathieu a moratorium of twelve years in which to keep these messages secret, imparting to the 14-year old girl that she could only make these public in 1858. Little did Melanie know that would be the year of Our Lady's famous appearances at Lourdes.

We will now delve now into those messages that Our Lady called attention to God's created nature and the weather patterns that would develop. One hundred and fifty years ago the Blessed Mother said, "The earth will be struck by calamities of all kinds (in addition to plague and famine which will be wide-spread)...Nature is asking for vengeance because of man, and she trembles with dread at what must happen to the earth stained with crime. Tremble, earth, and you who proclaim yourselves as serving Jesus Christ and who, on the inside, only adore yourselves, tremble for God will hand you over to His enemy, because the holy places are in a state of corruption...The seasons will be altered, the earth will produce nothing but bad fruit, the stars will lose their regular motion, the moon will only reflect a faint reddish glow. Water and fire will give the earth's globe convulsions and terrible earthquakes which will swallow up mountains, cities, etc....Woe to the inhabitants of the earth!

Here Our Lady is merely following the prophecies in Sacred Scripture, specifically Matthew chapters 24 and 25, chapter 13 of Mark and 21 of Luke where Our Lord foretold of the end times and the signs and warnings of the last days and regarding the Last Judgment. Jesus' chosen emissary, His very Own Mother, repeats her Divine Son's warning to the children for the world: There will be bloody wars and famines, plagues and infectious diseases. It will rain with a fearful hail of animals. There will be thunderstorms which shall shake cities, earthquakes which will swallow up countries. Voices will be heard in the air. Men will beat their heads against walls, call for their death, and on another side death will be their torment. Blood will flow on all sides. Who will be the victor if God does not shorten the length of the test? All the blood, the tears and the prayers of the righteous, God will relent. Enoch and Eli will be put to death. Pagan Rome will disappear. The fire of Heaven will fall and consume three cities. All the universe will be struck with terror and many will let themselves be led astray because they have not worshipped the true Christ who lives among them. It is time; the sun is darkening; only faith will survive.

This is also a confirmation of the words of Apocalypse/Revelation 6:12; 8:5; 11:13,19; and 16:18-21, the latter in which the evangelist John speaks of the three cities Our Lady refers to. Many have speculated which three cities those will be and that is a mistake for God does not want us to isolate one city over another, or concentrate on "when" any of that will happen, but rather to be ready at all times, following Christ's parable of the ten virgins, to "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour" (Matthew 25: 13). We don't know the hour but we do know that the signs described in Sacred Scripture and Our Lady's messages are indeed at hand. Look at the recent weather patterns over the past several years in which experts have proclaimed the most drastic in history. Remember the midwest floods of the last few years; famine throughout the world; recent drought through the southwest; unusually cold winters and hot summers; the man-made pollutants that are confounding nature and causing eruptions of every kind? These are all signs and warnings. And we are only just beginning! But, as always, in every message the Blessed Mother or Jesus have and are imparting there is always hope - eternal and comforting hope and confidence that if we do as They ask, if we submit to the Divine Will, then we have nothing to fear. That is the greatest consolation to the human heart and should spur everyone of us on to share this with our fellow man so that the numbers of the remnant will swell. Yes, no matter what dire warnings Our Lady portends, she always expresses glorious hope if we but follow her Divine Son. Just as the early Christians were persecuted and martyred for their faith and loyalty to Jesus, so also in these times we, too, will be persecuted and yes, some of us martyred. What a beautiful gift! What a blessing God has bestowed for in tough times God grants even more graces, including sending His very own Mother in an unprecedented way.
