It is permissible to grant that the Christ of history is far inferior to the Christ Who is the object of faith.

What? Are there two different Christs? Of course not. The Christ Who is the Christ of history is the very same Who is the object of faith. But the Modernists can't justify their agendas if they grant that. They can't undermine the foundation of the Church which He - the Christ of history and the same Who is the object of faith - established and promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. But that truth has never been important to those out to cloud the truth, to twist it and change it for, after all, Modernists believe that truth can change and evolve, and must be gaged on the contemporary thinking of the time whatever that might be. They forget that Christ cannot change, His truths can never change. He and His truths are the same yesterday, today and forever. Though they might conveniently forget that fact, they doggedly persist, so possessed by their own vanity and pride that they would purposely distort the meaning of the Scriptures and the very Word of God Himself, offering ambiguous language and hypothesis that totally alter the doctrines of the Church. Oh, good St. Pius X knew exactly what they were doing and tried to warn us all. Sadly, except for the Bishops, even the priests didn't see this document for rarely were Papal Decrees circulated to the parish level and therein, the enemy was able to deceive despite St. Pius's vigilance against those who held to the "synthesis of all heresies."
