Opposition may, and actually does, exist between the facts narrated in Sacred Scripture and the Church's dogmas which rest on them. Thus the critic may reject as false facts the Church holds as most certain.
This error has been fully embraced by those who hold that truth and dogma can evolve. A good case in point is the infamous "Jesus Seminar" in which all caution was thrown to the wind and everything open for interpretation, subjective interpretation no less, with equal footing given to Protestant and Jewish participants. Basically heretics enabling heretics. Why, one has to ask, are these men and women who celebrate this error so vehement in their criticism of Catholic truth? The answer is easy. They hate the Church. It doesn't matter if they still call themselves Catholic, they are NOT. One cannot be a Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church and God if one rejects even one dogma, one doctrine. We all know what St. Pius X's predecessor His Holiness Pope Leo XIII said in Satis cognitum about believing almost the whole of Catholic truth, but if one expouses even one iota of an error in doctrine, then he has injected poison into the body and soul of himself as well as the Mystical Body of Christ. All the Supreme Pontiffs warned of this up through His Holiness Pope Pius XII. So what happened once Angelo Roncalli assumed the throne of Peter? Good question and his sorry legacy followed by the sorrier and sordid legacies of Giovanni Montini, then Karol Wojtyla show just how far the pendulum of error has swung. The great canard is that many think Ratzinger is trying to swing the pendulum back. Au contraire, mes amies. He is, in effect, trying to construct another pendulum, one that swings in all directions in order to seek NEW truths through his Hegelian synthesis-antithesis theories that contradict Catholic truth. Instinctively the holy Pope, who was so concerned for the spiritual welfare of his flock a century ago, knew that one day the barbarians would crash in the gate. What he didn't realize is that it would be done so thoroughly and with nary a sound in the consciouses of so many duped and dumbed-down Catholics.
