     For those who have been following our countdown calendar to the Jubilee, they are well aware that today marks a significant milestone - or should we say "millstone" - as we draw nearer to the year 2000. We're not celebrating this day whatsoever but rather marking it as significant since Our Lady expressly conveyed to locutionist Father Don Stefano Gobbi back on June 17, 1989 in Milan that "666 times three equals 1998." Because of the prayer of Mary's faithful remnant she has also imparted that much has been mitigated and that her Immaculate Heart will triumph before the new millennium. Therefore, could today mark the beginning of the time of serious tribulation when the antichrist gains control before he is defeated and satan chained and thrust into hell? If so, we need now more than ever to return to that brilliant and powerful Prayer to Saint Michael as we discuss in today's editorial entitled, "May God rebuke him we humbly pray!" click on today's CATHOLIC PewPOINT

     A few days ago we warned everyone that today - Thursday, March 5 would arrive - the day that marks 666 days until the year 2000. It's an interesting event and confirms why we have had so many crashes of our windows programs this past week. We just upgraded to a three and a half gig, 100 ram 166 megahertz drive with built in Iomega Zip drive, 32 CD Rom and cable modem that brings the internet pages to us one hundred times faster than before when we were using the standard 28.8 modem. With all these improvements, it still has crashed over 20 times between last Friday and Wednesday night. We can't blame it on El Nino because the weather the last week has been gorgeous and one pines to set the work aside and stray outside into the springtime air of the Pacific, but alas the show must go on and if we did that you wouldn't be reading today's Daily CATHOLIC. Know that's what ol' hornhead would like since he's been so active and he must be so prouuud with his number so prevalent today! We don't bring the number "666" to your attention to give him the credit, but rather the blame and to re-emphasize how the signs point to the fact his time is short. Don't know how many times this editor has exclaimed, "I can't wait till the devil gets his head crushed but good!!! I hope he tumbles forever when he's finally chained!" We know it will happen, because God revealed it in both Genesis 3: 15 and Apocalypse/Revelation 20: 1-6. In the latter God promises that He will put enmity between the demon and the woman, between your seed and her seed who shall crush his head. There have been many misinterpretations of this and we need to turn to discernment to realize God is talking about His Divine Son Jesus - His seed and the seed of the woman known as His Blessed Mother. In sacred art Mary is so often crushing the head of the serpent beneath her heel in fulfillment of this prophecy in Genesis. Did God mean Mary herself would crush his head or was He speaking of "he" in the reference of Jesus through His Church of which Mary is the Mother? Theologians and Scripture scholars have discussed this for years and we feel, from all that has come to pass, from the Traditions and teachings of Holy Mother Church that the "he" refers to His Church through the intercession of His Holy Mother. Jesus promised as much in Matthew 16: 18 when He assures Peter that "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." The link to Our Lady is inexorable as we see in Apocalypse/Revelation when Saint John refers to the "chain" which the angel - most probably St. Michael - binds satan with. That "chain," Our Lady has told us, is the Holy Rosary which "will bind satan." No wonder she implores us to take up the "most powerful weapon we have" - the Rosary. It all makes perfect sense!

     What also makes perfect sense is to pray and pass this on to everyone in the world. That is the reason for Daily Mass; the reason we publish the Daily CATHOLIC each day, and the reason why tomorrow is so important in uniting the world in WORLD DAY OF PRAYER. It will be the 111th Annual one and if ever a world is in need of collective prayer, this is the time. The situation in Iraq is still very, very tenuous, especially when one considers the "Wag the Dog" mentality of the Clinton Administration. The situation within the Church is also fragile as many loom just below the surface ready to churn the waves of schism at the signal of wayward leaders. The world is in chaos physically and morally; the El Nino pattern having wreaked havoc throughout the earth and abortion and every sin of the flesh have rendered today's civilization with the coldest and hardest of hearts. Therefore, it is time to turn in prayer to God as one. Tomorrow offers that opportunity from an ecumenical sense. Following is a prayer that was published by Dolores Curran who wrote for the Texas Catholic Diocesan paper for nearly three decades before retiring last year. It was sent to us by Delphine Stanton of Rancho Santa Fe and we share it with all our readers today for it is so meaningful and touches the heart. It is entitled, JUST FOR TODAY:

Today...I will live in peace with God, my neighbor and myself. I will bring peace to my patch of this earth.
Today...I will believe that world peace is possible. I will remember that hope is the most important gift I can give my world.
Today...I will not be a party to pessimism nor join the indifferent.
Today...I will be happy. I will remember that my joy is up to me. I will carry my confidence to all I touch this day.
Today...I will love my enemies. I will pray for them. I will try to see our differences from their point of view.
Today...I will disarm myself of rage by extending my hand in help and forgiveness.
Today...I will know that peace is the child of justice - that peace is more than the absence of war.
Today...I will plant a seed of justice in this global village, in my city, in my neighborhood, in my family and in my heart.
Today...I will pray for peace for all those with whom I come into contact.
Today...I will test my love of peace by doing one act for peace.
Today...I will stand with Christ the Peacemaker.

     The author is unknown but the words are pertinent, especially today! There was a cartoon that caught our eye a few weeks ago by Johnny Hart, creator of the strip "B.C." which best tells the kind of path we, as a nation, are on if we continue to blindly follow the Clinton administration's willful disobedience of God's Laws. It depicts two cavemen characters reading the stones along a walk heading toward the abyss. At the crest of the hill, along the path heading down to the precipice of the abyss is a sign stating: "Good Intentions Next 666 Feet." It bears out the addage, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" for beyond the edge of the abyss Hart illustrates the raging fires of hell. "Good intentions" are an excuse Bill Clinton falls back on constantly, hoping we'll buy his lies and deceit. As Hart depicts, Clinton and those who follow him blindly are playing right into the hands of beelzubub! Both Our Lord and His Blessed Mother conveyed warning messages to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart well before Clinton was elected, before he was even considered as a serious candidate, that if America was not careful, if they did not return to God and obey His laws, they would elect in their country a man who would take America to the abyss. That is exactly what William Jefferson Clinton is doing both publicly as an elected representative - the highest in our land, and privately as a citizen of ill repute whose moral standards are reminiscent of a street walker and are announced to the world as if his "sexploits" are nothing! With this kind of leadership and example, we need to pray like never before. For Catholics that means taking up the Rosary on a regular basis, like daily or more often if possible, and attending Daily Mass and offering our oblation for the reparation of sinners who continue to ignore God and His Laws, oblivious to His Mercy not to mention His Divine Justice! For Catholics it means to set the example for others by practicing the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, especially during Lent. For Catholics it means to avoid the occasions of sin at work, home and at play. Holy Mother Church, in her wisdom, has the perfect guidebook for this. It's called penance and sacrifice and Lent is the time these virtues are emphasized, but Lent does not have a monopoly on penance and sacrifice. About the same time Pope Leo XIII composed the powerful Prayer to Saint Michael, the first WORLD DAY OF PRAYER was instituted. Tomorrow, to commemorate the 111th Annual WORLD DAY OF PRAYER, we'd be wise to begin with the Prayer of St. Michael. Sadly, since Vatican II it has been abandoned by so many and that has opened the door wide for his adversary to steal in and infect so many with the deadly disease that could prove forever fatal if we don't take the words of this inspiring prayer to heart - a prayer which graces our PRAYERS & DEVOTION section on the front page today. Tomorrow during WORLD DAY OF PRAYER and every minute of every day, let us pray this prayer over and over so that "May God rebuke him we humbly pray!"

      In today's on-going feature mega series on the Church today, we continue the topic of Saint John Bosco's dream vision he received well over a century ago and whether it referred to the end of the nineteenth century or our own twentieth century - like right now. The reason for the vision very much ties in with what Our Lady has said at Rue de Bac, Lourdes, La Salette, Fatima, Medjugorje, Akita, Betania and countless other places and with Sacred Scripture as we document in the sixty-first installment.       In this series on Saint John Bosco's vision there have been some questions as to whether the vision was intended for the end of the nineteenth century for that was the one he lived in, or for our century. We received an e-mail from a concerned Salesian Sister regarding this. She claims everyone has assumed that Don Bosco was referring to end of his century, "since he died in 1888." This might make sense had Pope Leo XIII, the pontiff over the turn of the century, securely anchored the Barque of Peter to the pillars of the Holy Eucharist and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Not that he didn't try, but the events of the twentieth century would prove that the Barque of Peter drifted away from the pillars and is still being pummeled by attacking maurauders of the Church. Thus, if John Bosco's vision had pertained to the end of the nineteenth century, then that would have made the vision he received wrong. That doesn't make sense since he is a saint today and it doesn't make sense doubly because neither God or His special emissary - the Blessed Virgin Mary - can be wrong. Therefore, we have to assume the vision was meant for our century when the second millennium comes to a close. We base our assumption not only on the events, but also on the following sources - "The Living Presence" video by the Mercy Foundation out of St. Louis, Missouri and the book "Tragedy and Triumph" by Father Georges de Jesus, an avid student of the works of John Bosco and the visions he received. Add to this what Our Lady conveyed at Rue de Bac, Lourdes, and La Salette and all she foretold extended well into the twentieth century. Remember, these, too, took place in the nineteenth century. Add to that the apparitions at Fatima, Garabandal, Akita, Medjugorje, Betania and countless others as well as messages to her messengers in every corner of the globe during this, the twentieth century, and it all points to the fact John Bosco's vision definitely pertains to the end of the millennium. Finally, add the messages to Father Don Stefano Gobbi, the respected and renowned Italian locutionist who received detailed messages from Our Lady for nearly thirty years. They ended on the last day of last year. One of the most pertinent and last ones he received in 1997 was that her Immaculate Heart would triumph before the Millennium. Folks, we have 666 days left! Oh, yes, we hate to harp on that number but it's true! Time is growing short and God has given us a blueprint of what is to come. Not specifics, but enough that we can hone in on the era without pinpointing an exact date. But we shouldn't worry about dates. Didn't Our Lord say, "No one knows the day nor the hour except the Father"? Hasn't He and His Holy Mother said it will happen when we least expect it? And the mood of America as well as the rest of the world indicates people least expect it. They talk about a thriving economy, about world peace, about the glories of hi-technology, about the freedom to do what one wants which, translated, means we are on a spiritual decline heading for the immoral abyss of hell. Most folks haven't got a clue what's ahead, but few will agree it has anything to do with God. How sad. Oh, there are many who adhere to the fact that God will cleanse the earth and His peoples as He has done repeatedly throughout the history of mankind, His creation. But there are too many who think it's all poppycock and "doom and gloom." It could be doom and gloom if we were talking about the "end of the world." But we're not talking about the "end times" as the end of the world as in the great apocalypse but rather as a reawakening, a purification that will usher in a time of great peace and unity. Many refer to it as the "thousand years of peace" foretold in Sacred Scripture. As for the time frame of a "thousand years" we must remember that to God time is irrelevant. To Him one day could be a thousand years. We need only realize that in God's time it will happen. But as for the "end times" we are living in it means the end of civilization as we know it - disunity, blatant disregard for God's laws, and an embrace of satan's agenda.

      There's that culprit again. Satan has been given this final century to do whatever he can before he is bound and chained and thrust into hell as the great Prayer to St. Michael, composed by Leo XIII, attests. In place of all the division, disobedience and hate will come an era of peace - the New Advent - the time that will be referred to as the glorious Reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in which we will see Jesus again; not in the sense where He will walk the earth as He did 2000 years ago, but in a mystical Eucharistic sense where all will know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Christ is Truly Present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar - Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity! How we will see this is beyond man's finite comprehension, but in God's infinite mind and heart all things are possible and we will know. What seems impossible now, but will come to pass is that there will be one faith - the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church will be recognized as the one, true Church and all will flock to receive and be with Jesus. Being a cradle Catholic, that might seem presumptious and proud to say, "Told you so!" but too many signs and prophecies have been manifested themselves and been proven that we have confidence God will follow through on His promise. Call it faith! The messages and apparitions at Garabandal, which we are presently featuring in our on-going mega series on THE AGE OF MARIAN APPARITIONS, bear this out. If God can make it possible that we will see, at the time of the Warning, the state of our soul as God truly sees us via the "illumination of our souls", then why can't He effect the great Miracle which is also promised at Garabandal - a miracle that could possibly reveal to our eyes the True Presence that hitherto now has remained a mystery we believe on faith! To conjecture on what and when the Warning and Miracle will be does no good for most often human predictions fall far short, but we have heavenly predictions to go on and because of that we hold to the principal that John Bosco's vision was meant for this century.

      The good, holy Salesian nun wrote, "The question of the end of times, instead, was raised at the time in which Don Bosco was overseeing the construction of the great Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin, Italy. That we know of, he desired to place the date of the victory of the battle of Lepanto on the base of one pillar of the structure, and the date of 'another victory of Our Lady' on the other. He really never spoke of the 'end of time' that I am aware." Sister is right, he didn't speak of the "end of time" and we don't either, but we do speak about the "end times" and we feel confident his vision addressed the "end times" as we referred to above. The fact he related the vision to Lepanto is quite natural for remember, in those days there was no TV, movies and books were still not as prevalent - especially photos. Thus his impression of Lepanto equates with his vision he received. The style of ships bear this out. But he had nothing else to go on. Remember, in private revelation God reveals it as we see it. Father Rene Laurentin, the noted Mariologist and leading Marian spokesman on private revelation has spoken often about the fact that man's humaness comes through in private revelation and prophecy, and that is a good thing he asserts. He likens it to two horses pulling a wagon. One is God, the other is us. God knows every move we will make, every thought. We conversely know very little, least of all what God is thinking - though if we really put our "nose to the prayer-wheel" we could more easily understand God's Will. Though God could pull the cart with no effort at all, even make it fly, He depends on us to be His hands, feet, legs, muscle and grit to effect His work on earth. Therefore He uses humans to communicate His Will to humans, but in almost every message to one of His messengers, even though their styles, grammar, and cultures may be varied, the essence of the messages are always the same. That says a lot for the authenticity of many messengers. Bringing this back into focus, his own experiences contributed greatly in how John Bosco "saw" the vision. Had he truly seen, without any taint of his own imagination, this vision he would have beheld vessels of the turn of the century - steel ships, rather than wooden. Had he truly seen, without any taint of his own imagination, this vision for our time he would have seen submarines, cruisers and possibly military aircraft and missiles. But he saw from his own experiences, mostly the lesson of the victory of Lepanto which occurred in the Gulf of Corinth on October 7, 1571. The images of this great battle have been passed down through generation, especially among Italians which John Bosco was. Therefore his vision tied in with Lepanto. But it is not in the details or in the messenger that we must get bogged down but in the message. And that message is crystal clear, we will not reach that accord with God and neighbor, not be at peace until we are alligned with the Barque of Peter and anchored to the twin pillars of the Most Holy Eucharist and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It all ties in with what Our Lady has been saying, especially at Fatima when she proclaimed, "In the end my Immaculate Heart will Triumph!". Had this vision given to John Bosco been meant for the end of the nineteenth century, why would the Blessed Virgin Mary have stated this nearly twenty years after the fact? No, we are confident the vision pertained to our present time as we come to end of another period in history that is pivotal. Four thousand years ago God allowed the great flood which Noah survived, two thousand years ago God sent His only Begotten Son, and two thousand years later He is going to visit us again in an extraordinary way that will give credence to all Our Lady has foretold and all that John Bosco envisioned. Of that we can be sure. Again, call it faith!

     In the next installment we will continue this thread going into more specifics on his vision and the discernment of what it means as tied to our times.

     The Blessed Mother confirms all of the above with her messages to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart. The two today treat the end of the "Age of Mercy" and the rise of the antichrist. That was in 1991. Seven years later we are truly on the brink of these times which she refers to as "the times of now, of the last days." She is not referring to the end of time, but the end of an era. As always she liberally fills her words with hope in knowing we have nothing to fear if we are secure in the two Hearts. Messages One Hundred Twenty-Seven and Twenty-Eight

     Beloved Hidden Flower, I say to my children that my messages grow more urgent, as those of any loving Mother who sees her beloved child rushing headlong to certain perdition. I will not abandon my little ones, but I grieve for all who refuse to believe, hear, understand and convert.

      I repeat: Read Isaiah. Begin as I have instructed and proceed in prayer and meditation. These words are the times of now, of the last days. Again I caution my children to read with the soul, not with man's finite mind.

      I solemnly tell you the Age of Mercy draws to a close. The antichrist will reign. His power shall come from the destruction of the temple. I solemnly tell you the temple is not a building, not a specific place, but the very Temple which my Divine Son is, the temple within each of his little ones.

      O! Tonight I weep. For all who are tepid and lukewarm, lax and unbelieving. Woe shall be theirs when Mercy is withdrawn and the beast is made known.

      I beseech you to persevere, supporting one another. The time of chastisement has begun. Great shall be your tribulations. Many shall give their lives in joyful surrender to my Son. Weep not for them. Pray, rather, to possess God's strength for the mark of the beast will be rampant. All my faithful ones shall be hunted down, persecuted, slaughtered. But my Immaculate Heart shall triumph.

      Prepare the way of the Lord. I am proclaiming the Second Advent. Heed my call, given in Love. Come home to the Father, and do not be afraid. I am with you, beside my Divine Son.

      Pray! Receive God's Peace. Thank you for responding to my Call!

      Beloved Hidden Flower, I come as a loving mother to each one of you. I see the need of each.

      My dear children, I love you. O! If you could but understand and "feel" my love which flows from God's Infinite Love.

      Your worlds are torn asunder. Family, children, community, nation. You seek worldly solutions. You desire to surround yourself with those things of man which provide only temporary escape, temporary satisfaction.

      Again I beseech and invite all to the love of my Divine Son. Give all to Him through my Immaculate Heart. Then will your eyes be open, your souls at rest, your thoughts always on God. Only in this way shall happiness be found both now and in eternity.

      Dear ones, Advent is here! Do you understand what Advent means? Pick up your rosaries. Pick up your Bibles. With each prayer, with every word I will guide you. I desire to make of each of you a holy tabernacle for my Son.

      Begin now, my precious children. It is not too late. To all I call and invite. I visit all my children and speak to them in many ways by God's authority. I will not abandon any of my little ones. Become as the Infant Jesus I held in my arms. This is the sure, straight way and I will guide every step.
