INTRODUCTION: In the inspiring book "The Significance of Lourdes, Fatima, and Medjugorje as explained in Scripture" the author Wilmott G. Brown masterfully reveals the Holy Trinity's plan in these latter times as outlined in Sacred Scripture and the role the Blessed Virgin Mary plays in this scenario. Wilmott's writings provide new insight on Biblical revelation that cannot help but inspire the reader. As the Preface explains, the work "delves into the meaning behind the many apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary during the last two centuries." Mr. Brown covers both Old Testament and New Testament passages to better reveal the necessary tableau unfolding as we near the end of the second millennium. It is an excellent reference which pinpoints Scriptural passages that confirm Our Lady's vital role in preparing all God's children for the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart which will usher in the glorious Reign of her Divine Son's Sacred Heart. Wilmott has chosen the masterful 15th century painting of the Transfiguration by Raphael Sanzio which capsulizes the ultimate meaning of Mary's messages and how these events relate to Scripture. In this twenty second installment, we present the sixth part of chapter five on the significance of Medjugorje in relation to the Scriptures.

Chapter 5: In the Evening and in the Spirit of Elijah - part six

There is a strange characteristic associated with Elijah or the spirit and power of Elijah. Elijah's contest with the prophets of Baal is written in 1 Kings chapter 18, Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel to build a sacrifice and then to call on their God to provide the fire to consume the young bulls. Both the prophets of Baal called out to their God to provide fire to consume their sacrifice, but nothing happened. Then Elijah built an altar and had water poured all over the young bull and the wood, Elijah prayed and called upon God to provide the fire to consume the sacrifice. When the people saw this feat on Mount Carmel, they fell on their faces and said "The Lord is God." Then the 450 prophets of Baal were seized and slaughtered. At the first coming of Jesus Christ, John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah preaching repentance (see summary of chapter I - "D). John the Baptist was slaughtered by having his head cut off (Matthew 14: 1-12). Likewise in the providence of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which contains Medjugorje, at the same time as the apparitions and after the tenth anniversary of the first apparition, a civil war has broken out which has claimed many lives. This characteristic of violence has been present with each of the manifestations of the spirit and power of Elijah. This is suffering and spiritual warfare and a good reference for the latter times is footnote #14 of the last chapter.

Consequently, the Blessed Virgin Mary has appeared at Medjugorje in the spirit and power of Elijah, fulfilling the prophecy of Malachi 3: 23, 24, to prepare God's faithful servants for the second coming of Jesus Christ. When: Only God the Father knows the exact time of the second coming of Jesus Christ, but according to the 24th chapter of Matthew, it will occur after the tribulation. In addition, read the 19th and 20th chapters of the book of Revelation [Apocalypse]. Another current source worth mentioning is Father Don Stefano Gobbi. His interior understandings or messages [locutions] for the year 1990 are titled "Mother of the Second Advent." In particular, for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, refer to chapter 435, "I Reveal My Secret" in the 14th edition of To the Priests, Our Lady's Beloved Sons, page 705 of October 13, 1990 - the anniversary of the last apparition at Fatima.

Are you prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Has there been real conversion in your life, and from the heart. When you pray, pray from the heart. Be humble, and love God with your whole heart, mind and soul. Be sure to pray the Rosary every day. Attend Mass as often as possible. Give glory to God for His creation and your life. Please increase the time each day that you devote to prayer. In addition, earnestly study Holy Scripture to understand God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and to understand the times which we live in. Pray to Mary, so that she can help you in these turbulent and troubled times. Pray and live for the Glory of God. Prepare for the glorious reign of Jesus Christ.
