Gabriel Garnica

Gabriel Garnica    Gabriel Garnica holds a law degree from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. John's University in New York. He presently teaches business law at the university level. College courses in psychology, philosophy, logic, ethics and theology combined with his legal education and 20 years as an educator himself have given Gabriel a deep appreciation and respect for the power of thought and words in shaping human growth and potential. Gabriel believes that our talents are God's investment in us, and we repay that investment by using those talents to fulfill the mission that God has given each of us. "Unfortunately, many today either never seek their mission or use their talents to glorify themselves instead of their God."

A cradle Catholic from birth, Gabriel is most mystified when he sees how American Catholics increasingly rebel against their faith and have continuously diluted it to the point where what is commonly called Catholic in this country and even worldwide is merely a fraud. He is most disgusted with the way American Catholics increasingly stand on the front lines of every modernist, feminist and secularist distortion and rebellion infecting society's view of faith. "If American Catholic clerical and political leaders stood firm in their faith, evils such as abortion would never be legal in this country."

Besides his regular contributing columns to The Daily Catholic over the past four years under Gabriel's Clarion, Gabriel also writes extensively for conservative political sites such as chronwatch.com and the Daley-Times Post, where he is a columnist, as well as newmediajournal.us and michnews.com, where he is a regular contributor. Many of his articles in these sites focus on the evils of abortion and radical feminism, the hypocrisy of liberals and the distortion of faith in politics. In particular, Gabriel is disgusted by the manner in which mostly liberals but also some conservatives manipulate faith to suit their purposes. "The idea that one can be a person of deep faith while supporting, defending, promoting, rationalizing or even condoning abortion is a moral absurdity. Liberals pretend that caring about the poor, feeding the hungry and providing shelter for the homeless means they can get a free pass on murdering the unborn, destroying the traditional family, and playing God with embryonic stem cell research. Well, they are wrong and we need to let them know we are not going to fall for their used car salesman brand of faith."

Gabriel's approach can be hard-hitting and soft, depending on the topic, but it is always filled with the passion he holds for using his writing to serve God. He loves the words of Mary's fiat and his favorite saint is St. Tarcisus, who died protecting The Holy Eucharist from a pagan mob. "In a way, we are all called to protect Our Lord from that mob on a daily basis. It is our job to defend Him as best we can using our talents and efforts humbly but forcefully and confidently." Gabriel also loves to write about The Blessed Mother for he sees her as the epitome of all that brings us to God. "Our Blessed Mother was The First Tabernacle bringing Our Lord to us and we are so fortunate to have Her on our side as long as we humbly seek God's mercy, forgiveness and call for us." Ultimately, Gabriel believes that we must all be willing to stand up for what we believe proudly and confidently knowing that God and Our Heavenly Mother will be at our side. "One must be more willing to go the distance and risk it all for God than to play it safe and do anything without Him."

Gabriel is married with two daughters and lives in Long Island, New York. You can email him at gbbmyarticles@yahoo.com with your thoughts and questions.
