Where is Holy Mother Church Heading as we near the Millennium?
installment sixty
Wake-up Call
to all Catholics
the thirty-first clarion
INTRODUCTION:       The Feature Article, begun in the inaugural issue two years ago, deals with the state of the Church. We continue probing the question that has perplexed the Magisterium and the laity for the past 30 years as the liberal element has left its mark, effecting changes that have seemingly watered down the "Roman Catholic" traditions. Yet, God in His Infinite Wisdom, has allowed this to happen for a specific purpose. He has been preparing us in a special way by sending His very Own Blessed Mother to guide us and remind us of our roots. Through perseverance, prayer and loyalty to Holy Mother Church headed by the Holy Father John Paul II and adhered to by the faithful who will not compromise, the pendulum is beginning to swing back toward the conservative side. In the sixtieth installment of this on-going feature series, we continue to sound the clarion as a wake-up call to all Catholics, especially bringing to the attention of all Catholics the inherent dangers of many heresies being spewed about and given silent consent by some bishops, archbishops and even cardinals who fail to speak out against these aberrations and the way these heresies are rubber-stamped by the media. If we allow the modernists, liberals and some cafeteria Catholics to dictate what our faith should or shouldn't be we're going to be in big trouble when the third millennium dawns. In this eighth chapter for 1998 we continue to alert the reader to what is happening and sound the call to arms, to enlist in Mary's army and take up the battle cry: Enough! God said it, we believe it, that settles it! Too many Catholics are going their own way with little regard to what their spiritual shepherd - the Vicar of Christ says. Sin is whitewashed. If we're not careful there will be a tremendous backwash and who among us wants to get caught in the vortex of that swirling whirlpool of Justice? With this chapter we continue our multi-installments on the vision to Saint John Bosco and its meaning today, outlining its significance and affirming much of what has been foretold for these times...times of peril for the faithful. That is the crux of our retort for this series is a set blueprint for Catholics everywhere to take up the banner of truth in defending Christ's One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

The Thirty-First Clarion:
Beware of False Prophets in the American Church
part twenty: Living the Vision - the battle has begun!
"Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

Matthew 16: 18

Picking up where we left off last week on the vision and messages imparted to Saint John Bosco on May 30, 1862. The interesting aspect of this is that this year May 30, 1998 is the vigil of Pentecost. And these next two years are the focal point for this mystical vision St. John or Don Bosco received. Just as the approved La Salette messages refers to the corrosion within the Church, so also in John Bosco's dream is he shown and told of the perils ahead for those who are not loyal to Christ's Vicar on earth and His Church. Following are the words to John Bosco as he related:

"Now the voice from Heaven addresses the Pastor of pastors [the Pope]: 'You are in the great conference with your Assessors, but the enemy of the good does not rest for a moment. He is studying and deploying every devise against you; he will raise up enemies from among My sons [priest-sons]. The powers of this world will vomit fire and will stifle the words of those who guard My law.'"

That might have sounded pretty forboding one hundred and thirty six years ago with no one truly understanding it, but we, who live in these times and have experienced first-hand this deceit and treachery by the enemies of the Pope and Holy Mother Church know only too well the prophetic nature of these words and their fulfillment. Look at first the Masonic movement, then the Catholic bashing that has gone on for years by the false prophets of today - the media. Finally, look within our Church and see these splinter groups who no longer offer healthy discussion but rather seek to undermine the stability and credibility of the Church Jesus Christ established in Matthew 16: 18-19. Such liberal, radical and dangerous groups as "We Are Church," "Call to Action," and other fringe modernist groups openly assail the Holy Father, openly criticize the teachings, doctrines, and even dogmas of the Church. They are unwittingly willing allies of the evil one in weakening the hull of the Barque of Peter by launching spears of confusion and cannon balls of dissent from the disobedient crafts they represent. Like the turbulent waves and swirling whirlpool water spouts, they seek to suck the good ship down into the depths but, true to the prophecy in Sacred Scripture and in private revelation - specifically Rue de Bac, La Salette, Lourdes, and Fatima as well as John Bosco's vision, the Church will survive this terrible tormenting storm and reach the safe harbor moored to the twin pillars of the Holy Eucharist and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for the Blessed Mother has promised "In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph!" That is another reason why Our Lady reiterates over and over and over the necessity of the Holy Eucharist and devotion to her. You see God has a method to His divine madness and whether one wants to consider it madness or being mad, we know He's not happy! In fact He's downright saddened at the exodus of priests and bishops, even cardinals not to mention the plethora of laity who have abandoned Him, who have abandoned His Church. We say exodus because even though they may still be within the Church in name, in spirit and in deed they are no longer members of the Church militant for they have excommunicated themselves through their heresy just as Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz explained when he decreed that those who were members of "Call To Action, We Are Church," and that ilk have excommunicated themselves via the Code of Canon Law. But the final judge is, of course, the Supreme Judge Who alone can cast the deciding vote. Our prayer and hope is that they see the error of their ways before they are capsized on the rough seas of dissent and hate. The Barque of Peter stands tall in throwing them the lifesaver, but they must want to be saved...they must be willing to swim to it, they must be willing to admit their errors and seek repentance and reunion with Rome. If enough could muster the humility to do this, the seas would be quelled just as Jesus commanded in Scripture and the cruise to the twin pillars would be on waters as smooth as glass. But so many are too proud as John Bosco was told:

"It will not be. They will work evil, but they will do it against themselves."
This confirms Christ's words in Matthew 12: 25, that "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." But we also have Jesus' assurance that, though His Church may be divided, it will not fall asunder because He has promised in Matthew 16: 18, that "...the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

Yet, this does not mean there will not be casualties among the crew aboard the Barque of Peter. The ship will survive, but many of its members will suffer martyrdom for the true faith. John Bosco affirms this in the words he was given:

"There will be prevarication among the learned as well as among the ignorant. Your blood and the blood of your sons will wash away the filth with which you besmirch the Law of your God."
This signals both a threat as well as a decree that martyrdom is mandatory for the sake of our souls, the sake of Christ, the sake of countless others for whom the martyrs' deaths serve as expiation for their sins. Christ has said, "No greater love does man have than to lay down his life for another." As we near the third millennium does it seem like the Church is coming full circle? That we will return to the circumstances of the early martyrs? It is possible for today there are many martyrs of the Church around the world - in South America, in Asia and Africa. Even in Europe, Australia and the United States many are undergoing a martyrdom of a different type where they strive to persevere in a sea of indifference and progressive modernism, seeing Our Lord diminished in the Holy Eucharist and the Word, while man is exalted. Anyone who is truly Catholic and experienced this understands the fathoms of this martyrdom.

In the next installment we shall continue this thread on John Bosco's vision and the role Our Lady plays in all of this and why devotion to her Immaculate Heart is so paramount. For now, those with graphics, can view two visions of John Bosco's vision from two different perspectives. One is the traditional tableau depicting John Bosco in the foreground watching the Barque of Peter sailing safely between the twin pillars with the Holy Father standing upon the bough with the sinking ships of the enemy all around. This is the one we carry on our home port page. The other painting is of an entirely different perspective, painted by Matthew R. Brooks, and copyrighted 1995-98 with all rights reserved. We have received his personal permission to publish it on these pages and we do so with great joy for his depiction of John Bosco's dream conveys a powerful struggle at sea that shows the devastation of war on both sides. Just looking at this impressive canvas one can feel the waves rocking beneath as the ship lists strongly to portside, compelling the cardinals to one side while the Pope's special Swis guards fight valiantly as some are felled. One can get the impending feel of both the storm and approaching enemy crafts which threaten the Barque of Peter, set on the course toward the safe harbor of the twin pillars, seen on the horizon in the background where a glow illuminates them in the stormy skies. It is truly a work of beauty and inspiration. Please click on John Bosco's vision.
