Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Today is naturally the day we give thanks for all the benefits we have. But supernaturally everyday is the day we give thanks for God's graces and gifts. The etimology of the word "Thanksgiving" evolves from the Greek meaning to show thanks, combining eu - to show, and charistia favor or thanks. Thus the word derived for "Giving Thanks" is the Greek root: "Eucharistia which we all know as the Eucharist. Cyndi Cain treats this in her abbreviated Thanksgiving commentary today, entitled "The True Meaning of Thanksgiving." Click on Catholic PewPoint Too

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

That's what the media and Hollywood have been doing over these past several decades: gobbling up the collective consciences of millions with turkey productions that have subliminally and outwardly portrayed Catholics in a bad light. That is the topic in this week's installment of our continuous feature Where is Holy Mother Church Heading as we near the Millennium? with the fiftieth installment in this long on-going series on the Church today. Click on "Persecution and Prejudice Pile up on Holy Mother Church"

Give from your bountiful harvest

That is the message being promoted at the Synod of America currently finishing up its second week in Rome as we continue to bring you the daily happenings of this important synod convened by Pope John Paul II. Click on Daily Synod Synopsis

Pilgrims' Progress

The early pilgrims to our shores were slow in making progress, but the Holy See has sent anew a "Mayflower of Instruction" to the pilgrims of America with the intent of clearing up the abuses by laity and priests in our liturgies, most specifically the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We continue our daily installments of this important document released in mid-November with the Ninth installment on THEOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES 4. The Collaboration of the Non-ordained Faithful in Pastoral Ministry. Click on THE VICAR OF CHRIST SPEAKS

"Give thanks to God and be glad"

Be glad that He has sent His Blessed Mother to remind us of His Will and guide us through these trying times. His guidance is very clear in the messages to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart in which Jesus and Our Lady reaffirm our resolve to fight abortion and what we, as His soldiers on the front lines need to do. That is the theme of Messages one hundred seven and one hundred eight. Click on "I SOLEMNLY TELL YOU...!"

All the fixings feed our appetites

We need a balanced meal for physical nutrition and we need a balanced diet for spiritual nutrition. The tenets of the Catechism provide this and thus we provide nutritious snacks with our daily capsules on the teachings of Holy Mother Church as we conclude our capsules on Confirmation. PRAYERS & DEVOTION

THANKSGIVING GRACE PRAYERS

Today's prayers of thanks are everyday prayers which we should never forget and say always. Enjoy your turkey but don't forget...

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we have received from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We give Thee thanks, Almighty God, for these and all of Thy gifts which we have received from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Medjugorje Monthly Message

November 25th Message

Dear children: Today I invite you to comprehend your Christian vocation. Little children, I led and am leading you through this time of grace, that you may become conscious of your Christian vocation. Holy martyrs died witnessing: I am a Christian and love God over everything. Little children, today also I invite you to rejoice and be joyful Christians, responsible and conscious that God called you in a special way to be joyfully extended hands toward those who do not believe, and that through the example of your life, they may receive faith and love for God. Therefore, pray, pray, pray that your heart may open and be sensitive for the Word of God. Thank you for having responded to my call!
