Cardinal Roger Mahoney:   Homegrown Hollywood Hero of the Hispanic Cause

Today we bring you the 91st person selected out of the TOP 100 CATHOLICS OF THE CENTURY. The voters selected Cardinal Roger Mahony, the Archbishop of Los Angeles who has long championed Latin American rights, while downplaying the Latin rite. He is a favorite of the liberal church in America and his vote was influenced by many of that persuasion as well as the Hispanic vote, for his loyalty to their cause has won him many admirers. 91.    Cardinal Roger M. Mahony

Too often we see things through rose-colored glasses when God wants our souls to have 20-20 vision!

In his column today, Pat Ludwa writes about "impressions and perceptions" illustrating how we see ourselves, how others see us, and, most importantly, how God sees us. He points out that the former two are often tainted by our misconceptions and prejudices but the latter is the true barometer of how we really are. Too often, we all put more emphasis on human perceptions and impressions and forget God's rightful vision of our souls - the only "impression" that counts. Employing excellent syllogisms, backed by Sacred Scripture, Pat cuts through the chaff and clutter thrown at us by politically-correct rationalizers and modernists trying to make excuses for their own failings. He succintly points out that of the three pair of "eyes" - ours, others, and God's - only the Almighty's can see clearly. True twenty-twenty vision means 100% focused on living God's Will. "There is no sin, no cause, no petition that should not be brought to My Divine Mercy!"

Those words from the Sacred Heart of Jesus were imparted on May 9, 1995 to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart in which Our Lord asks His children to pray for Mercy and the approval of the Institute of Divine Mercywhose purpose is to call down mercy for the world in a contemplative, cloistered manner. It is interesting to note that two weeks after this message was released in the Bishop of Dallas, by way of his Vicar General, gave full approval for the Institute to begin fulfilling what Jesus had requested. The Blessed Mother prefaced her Divine Son's words a day earlier in extolling the great advantages of begging for His Divine Mercy which is plentiful if we but ask. She reminds her little ones that the only true Refuge is in the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts, and asks us all to consecrate ourselves to the Two Hearts and through these graces experience a complete conversion of heart. July 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

Dear children! Also today I rejoice with you and I call you all to prayer with the heart. I call all of you, little children, to give thanks to God here with me for the graces which He gives to you through me. I desire for you to comprehend that I want to realize here, not only a place of prayer but also a meeting of hearts. I desire for my, Jesus' and your heart to become one heart of love and peace. That is why, little children, pray and rejoice over everything that God does here, despite that satan provokes quarrels and unrest. I am with you and I lead you all on the way of love. Thank you for having responded to my call.
