CARDINAL KUHARIC NAMED PAPAL ENVOY IN CROATIAVATICAN (CWNews.com) -- Pope John Paul II has named Cardinal Franjo Kuharic, the archbishop emeritus of Zagreb, as his special envoy to the celebrations of the 7th century of the Diocese of Sibenik, in Croatia. That milestone will be observed on September 29.
The Holy Father himself will arrive in Croatia soon thereafter-- on
October 2. This will be the Pope's second pastoral visit to Croatia. The
highlight of the trip will be the beatification of another former
Zagreb archbishop, Cardinal Stepanic.
