Victim Souls are the key to the Symphony of Suffering
In this weekend's issue Cyndi Cain parallels the symphony of suffering of two victim souls in different eras - Saint Edith Stein - also known as Sister Teresa Benedicta of the Cross who gave her life at Auschwitz on August 9, 1942 and a fourteen-year-old innocent one who lies in a comatose state in Worchester, Massachusetts - well known and loved as "Little Audrey" - Audrey Santo and her saintly, devoted mother Linda Santo. Cyndi points out how their suffering is reverberating with graces for the entire world and if we ourselves do not accept our crosses and the suffering God might will for us, then we are in a coma that prevents us from hearing or participating in the great Symphony of Suffering. The weekend for this weekend is basically for Ordinary Time except for the feasts of Saint Denis and companion martyrs, and Saint John Leonardi, priest and religious founder. On Saturday we observe the Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday and Sunday is the Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time. It is no coincidence that the Holy Father will canonize another martyr of the holocaust this weekend for it marks the anniversaries of the death of Pope Pius XII and the canonization of Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe, both intricately linked with suffering during World War II. A Time for reckoning and reconciliation in seeking pardon for the past
Just days after the Vatican honored a blessed and days before it will elevate a saint who are both at the center of controversy over seeking reconciliation for past aggressions against Jews over the centuries, theologians at the Holy See are putting in overtime in drafting a "criteria of interpretation" which will be employed for an International Theological Commission to examine and deduct what transgressions might have been committed by Church members from past generations over the centuries. Battle lines drawn for bitter November showdown at the polls as pro-lifers and pro-aborts plot strategies
Both the pro-life camps spearheaded by the Christian Coalition and the forces for the culture of death - Planned Parenthood revealed tactics they will employ leading up to the National Vote on November 3. While the conservative Christian group are doing all they can to educate and build up pro-life candidates, it is no surprise that the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League and Planned Parenthood are planning on a negative campaign bent on targeting and tearing down pro-life candidates because the death promoters are truly scared that if more conservative Christians are elected all their efforts will go up in smoke...or should we say down to where there is smoke! The next episode of "As the Guatamala government turns:" Chapter seven: Denial and accusation of the priest as scapegoat in murder of bishop.
Should we be surprised that after it was revealed there is strong suspicion five soldiers were responsible for the murder of auxiliary Bishop Juan Gerardi Conedera in April, the soldiers superiors in the Guatamalan military flatly denied everything and pointed the accusing finger back on the poor scapegoat priest who lived in the bishop's residence. Regardless of the government's denial, one of the leaders of the human rights movement to bring the bishop's murderer or murderers to justice Father Mendez stated emphatically that they have proof that the military is the culprit. Vatican reinforces pro-family stance at UN as word out of Latin America shows decline in families from depopulation
Alarming statistics out of South and Latin America prove that where liberal abortion laws prevail the family population is dwindling. That, along with the doctrine of procreation as God intended was grist for the Vatican's observer to the UN Archbishop Renato Martino to impassionately address the assembly beseeching them to uphold the principles and values of family life which translates to concern for the poverty-stricken and human rights for all.
