     Dear children! Also today I call you to fasting and renunciation. Little children, renounce that which hinders you from being closer to Jesus. In a special way I call you: Pray, because only through prayer will you be able to overcome your will and discover the will of God even in the smallest things. By your daily life, little children, you will become an example and witness that you live for Jesus or against Him and His will. Little children, I desire that you become apostles of love. By loving, little children, it will be recognized that you are mine. Thank you for having responded to my call.

      In the sixty-third installment of our on-going feature mega series on the Church today, we bring you the fifth segment on the topic of Saint John Bosco's dream vision he received well over a century ago.      The three messages we bring you today from the Blessed Mother range from her warning of the great schism within the Church, which we deal with in our feature today, and with the Hope that is Jesus as she shares a special Christmas message with all on the day commemorating the birth of her Divine Son, entreating all her children to listen and believe...and respond. Catholic High School wins dispute with students. Court overturns previous ruling, allowing Maryland prep school to enforce discipline.

      In a victory for old-fashioned values and the right thing to do, a Federal Judge overturned a lower court ruling that had prevented administrators at an upscale Catholic prep school in the Baltimore suburbs to discipline two students with expulsion for illicit sexual behavior that was against Church teaching on morals. US gives total credit to Pope in easing Cuban embargo

      It took the Holy Father to finally convince the United States that it was time to ease the thirty-four year embargo on Fidel Castro and the Cuban people. U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright made this admission to reporters yesterday in Rome. Meanwhile the Cuban bishops praised the decision and urged cooperation and further efforts in giving all the people and clergy more "space" to practice their freedom which is still curtailed, despite what Castro might say. Nuns from Rwandan Catholic health center still held hostage, though three released

     Hutu rebels who had kidnapped eight nuns after killing several civilians, agreed to release the five Rwandan-born nuns but detained two Spanish nuns because they are medical professionals who can attend to Hutu wounds. Since November 1996 when over one million Hutu refugees came back to Rwanda from exile, there have been problems as Hutu rebels have stirred up their fellow Hutu tribesmen to create dissension and unrest, greatly jeopardizing the people of Rwanda and the Church. Dallas pediphile ex-priest owns up to sexual abuse charges

      In a surprising turn of events, former Dallas priest Rudolph Kos, an admitted homosexual, pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual abuse against altar boys in the late eighties and early nineties. His actions, while a parish priest in the Diocese. created the furor that launched the criminal charges resulting in a landmark 119.5 million settlement against the Diocese.
