Today we commemorate the birthday of our sixteenth President of the United States - Abraham Lincoln. Many feel he is still the greatest leader in the history of our country and contributed the most. His legacy when compared to the so-called leader of our country today - regarded by many as one of the sorriest leaders in the history of our country - is a sad commentary on how far we have sunk as a nation, just as Lincoln predicted if we did not remember "God first and foremost." The malaise America suffers today can be attributed to the manipulation of the mediocre majority who are so easily seduced by fabricated polls as we discuss in today's hard-hitting editorial entitled, "When it comes to polls, there is only one Pole you can believe in!" Batten down the hatches, the battle has begun!
In our megafeature on the state of the Church today, we begin on this day the first of several installments regarding the vision imparted to Saint John Bosco on May 30, 1862. It is important for us to understand and comply with what our Blessed Mother revealed to this Italian saint in prayerful hope the enlightenment will aid us greatly in realizing and implementing our pivotal lay role as strategic sailors of the Church Militant. Our Lady has prophesied about these times...
The malaise we are subjected to as indicated in the top column above has been prophesied by Our Lady in her messages of November 1 and 4 of 1991 to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart in which the Blessed Mother warns, "You shall see wickedness abound across the world. Lies. Deceit. All manner of falsehood shall become the rule of the day." That indeed has happened from the top man down. That is why the Mother of God has given these messages to the world so that we will be attuned to what satan is masterminding and turn our faces away and back to her Divine Son. PRAYERS & DEVOTION
Today's prayer is from the Opening Prayer of the Weekday Mass, a Psalm echoed often by Abraham Lincoln.
Come, let us worship the Lord. Let us bow down in the presence of our Maker, for He is the Lord our God.
Today and tomorrow we celebrate the liturgy of Ordinary Time. For the Masses, meditations and liturgy of Thursday and Friday,

PROVERB OF THE DAY
"Because I called and you refused, I extended My hand and no one took notice; because you disdained all My counsel, and My reproof you ignored."
Proverbs 1: 24-25
Medjugorje Monthly Message for January 25th
Dear children! Today again I call all of you to prayer. Only with prayer, dear children, will your heart change, become better, and be more sensitive to the Word of God. Little children, do not permit satan to pull you apart and to do with you what he wants. I call you to be responsible and determined and to consecrate each day to God in prayer. May Holy Mass, little children, not be a habit for you, but life. By living Holy Mass each day, you will feel the need for holiness and you will grow in holiness. I am close to you and intercede before God for each of you, so that He may give you strength to change your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call! Pope John Paul II's audience with Yeltsin proves fruitful
The scheduled meeting between the Holy Father and the Russian President went off Wednesday without a hitch. The private audience with the Pope, held on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, is hopefully a breakthrough in softening relations between the Holy See and Russia, though the Russian Orthodox Church and its patriarch stand as a roadblock to complete reconciliation and a possible visit. May be a break in five-year Murder Mystery of Cardinal Ocampo as investigation reaches across the border!
Authorities nabbed gang members in San Diego's Logan Heights district yesterday who could be linked to the killing of Mexico's Cardinal Juan Jesus Posadas Ocampo who was shot down in Guadalajara in 1993. Charges were filed that indicted ten San Diego gang members of Tijuana's feared Areleno Felix drug cartel. They had served as armed escorts and hitmen for Ramon and Benjamin Arellano, two of the most dangerous drug dealers in Mexico. Word is that Cardinal Ocampo was an innocent bystander who was mistakenly triggered as the target. Click on Cardinal O'Campo to read more.
Gay rights takes a direct hit as Cardinal of Philly reinforces danger of same-sex privileges
Reason returned to the state of Maine yesterday after its citizens voted to rescind the controversial gay-rights initiative passed by the legislature that had given gays the same rights as minorities in respect to benefits. Meanwhile, Cardinal Anthony Bevilaqua spoke out strongly against city benefits in the city of brotherly love that strongly mirrored the legislation passed in Maine but shut out by the vox populi. The Cardinal spoke of values and the sacredness of matrimony and how these proposed measures for same-sex rights was a mockery of all God intended. Click on Gays not so gay to read more.
