Medjugorje Monthly Message for September 25th
Dear children! Today, I call you to become my witnesses by living
the faith of your fathers. Little children, you seek signs and
messages and do not see that, with every morning sunrise, God
calls you to convert and to return to the way of truth and salvation.
You speak much, little children, but you work little on your
conversion. That is why, convert and start to live my messages, not
with your words but with your life. In this way, little children, you
will have the strength to decide for the true conversion of the heart.
Thank you for having responded to my call

Victory at Sea for the Holy See!
In today's editorial we go back to that great Battle of Lepanto where the undermanned Christian fleet overcame insurmountable odds to throttle the Islam threat, preventing the Turks from spreading Mohammedism throughout Europe. This was effected through the intercession of the Blessed Mother via the Holy Rosary which Pope Saint Pius V had called the faithful to pray. He declared tomorrow the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary in honor of Our Lady of Victory and victory is what we can achieve if we continue to use this weapon faithfully. For today's commentary, entitled No victory is possible without a price and the price of victory is only possible through prayer - especially the Rosary! , click on CATHOLIC PewPOINT.
Rome's Bishop takes rook and pawn as French King moves to checkmate
Throughout history not all Popes were the holy, sincere and dedicated pontiffs we have today. Such was the ambitious and obstinate Pope Benedict VIII who would stop at nothing to defeat his enemies even at the expense of the Church. But he was not the only treacherous one for the king of France Philip IV was just as crafty and deceitful as the Church was thrown into turmoil at the turn of the fourteenth century. For the seventy-fifth installment titled Pope Benedict VIII: Turning the Church into a chess match, click on THE HISTORY OF THE MASS AND HOLY MOTHER CHURCH.
"Stay alert and offer yourselves as living prayers."
Those are the words from Our Lord in the 218th message and is reinforced in the 219th one from His Blessed Mother Mary to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart. Jesus points out that His Mother's Immaculate Heart will triumph which will usher in His rule as the Christ the King and will be recognized by all. Pope calls for a new ethical and spiritual flourishing in Croatia as thousands flock to greet His Holiness

Wherever the Holy Father went throughout Croatia this past weekend he was enthusiastically received by the Croatian and Bosnian Catholics as hundreds of thousands packed outdoor Masses and the Beatification ceremonies for Cardinal Alojzie Stepinac as a "martyr to Communism." The Pope called for a "new springtime of faith" and insisted that Croatians must maintain their culture on "the moral values
written in man's common nature." For more, click on Croatian Papal Visit .
Hawaiian Bishops head effort to say "Aloha" (goodbye) to same-sex marriages with initiative on November ballot
Political pundits will carefully watch how Hawaiians lean in voting for a ban on same-sex marriages. Right now the Catholic Bishops of Hawaii are doing all in their power to get the measure passed which will prevent the Hawaii State Supreme Court from overturning it and kowtowing to gay and liberal intentions. The initiative is an amendment which asks voters to make marriage only legal for those of the opposite sex, thus discouraging homosexual activity in Hawaii. The Bishops, while they cannot endorse a measure on the ballot, are doing all they can to educate others as to what it means in hopes Hawaiians will not be bamboozled by a heavy blitz campaign by gay interests. Holy Father appeals to Croatians and the world to help the needy, especially in Kosovo
This past weekend the Holy Father made an urgent appeal to the Croatian people to help their fellow Slavs in Kosovo where Serbian aggression and abuses have finally been placed under the microscope and exposed to the world for the atrocities out of Belgrade. Tying in with the Pope's appeal is a special one-week meeting convened yesterday at the Vatican to address the needs of the migrant workers and refugees. For more, click on Appeal for Kosovo.
Last missionary out of Somalia, turn off the lights!
Sadly then there were none. We're talking about the Catholic missionaries in Somalia who have persevered in bringing the faith to the people there, teaching their minds, touching their hearts, and treating their physical needs. But, because of increased violence against religious, all of the religious are being recalled by their Orders for their own safety. Most of the missionaries do not want to leave, but out of obedience they are complying realizing right now it is better to retreat in order to reinforce their ranks and wait out the tension that makes Somalia a hotbed for terrorism. For the readings, liturgies, meditations and vignettes of these saints and the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, click on LITURGY FOR THE DAY.
PRAYER & DEVOTIONS
Today's prayers are the Opening Prayers honoring Saint Bruno first, and then Blessed Rose Marie Durocher:
Father, You called St. Bruno to serve You in solitude. In answer to his prayers help us to remain faithful to You amid the changes of this world.
Lord, You enkindled in the heart of Blessed Marie Rose Durocher the flame of ardent charity and a great desire to collaborate, as a teacher, in the mission of the Church. Grant us that same active love so that, responding to the needs of the world today, we may lead our brothers and sisters to eternal life.
