  • The English abandon the Siege of Orleans because of the bravery of Saint Joan of Arc.

  • Birth of Saint Peter Canisius in Nijmegen, Netherlands who became a Jesuit and would be sent back to his homeland by the founder Saint Ignatius of Loyola himself to reconvert the Protestants. He became a Doctor of the Church
