In the fourth installment of the Holy Father's Apostolic Letter DIES DOMINI, Pope John Paul II explains how the Resurrection of the Lord transfered the importance of the sabbath from Saturdays, as was the custom of the Old Covenant, to the New Covenant day of Sunday as we resume bringing you each day installments of this entire important document. To read the entire document, you can go to Dies Domini. For Chapter Two: The Day of the Risen Lord and of the Gift of the Holy Spirit, part one, click on THE VICAR OF CHRIST SPEAKS.

Satan is crafty and dangerous. Fortunately God has given us His Blessed Mother to deal with his wiles
Father Stephen Valenta, OFM Conv.      In his first part on The subtleties of satan in his weekly column, Father Stephen Valenta, OFM Conv. outlines how and why the fallen angels seek company by trying to claim as many souls as they can to their agenda. Fortunately for us, we have a special ally to fend off the devil in the Blessed Mother whom God has placed in charge of His army. For Father's column, click on HEARTS TO HEART TALK

Well deserved rest paying off for Holy Father
Pope resting up and reinvigorating     Midway through his two-week vacation in the Dolomite Mountains, it is evident the rest is doing wonders for the Holy Father's spirits and physical condition. The people of the region have been most respectful of his privacy and he has expressed his appreciation while also expressing sadness over the violence in Ireland. He is resting up for the busy fall schedule in which he will release an encyclical on faith and reason. For more, click on Re-energizing

Courage in Faith Award goes to founder of Courage
The idea of promoting a chaste lifestyle within the homosexual community was the basis for the founding of the Catholic organization COURAGE by Father John Harvey. His efforts were rewarded by Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio last week. President of the University Father Michael Scanlan, TOR presented Fr. Harvey with the prestigious award for 1998, citing his courage in founding and maintaining the non-profit organization Courage despite fierce opposition. For more, click on Courage.

Hindus up to their old tricks: trying to reconvert Catholics.
India Catholics under assault by Hindu prosyletizers      We doubt Mother Teresa would have stood for such outright provoking of Catholics, but with her gone, millions of Catholics in northern India are being harassed into reconverting to fundamental Hinduism, many through force. This has prompted a strong protest from the Catholic group All India Catholic Union to the national government calling for a halt to this coercion. For more, click on India .

Another Pedophile landmark case results in largest single award ever to those violated by priest
One might think many priests commit pedophilia from all the sensationalistic headlines over the past year, but the latest decision by a Stockton judge and jury in the mid-size farming town in central California has sent shock waves through dioceses across the United States and beyond. On the heels of the staggering Dallas decision, 30 million was awarded to two brothers who claim they were sexually molested by a Stockton priest over twenty years ago.      July is the month of the PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS and this day is formerly the feast of of this sacrificial shedding our Our Lord's redeeming blood. Below is the prayer of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Almighty, everlasting God, Who didst appoint Thine only-begotten Son Redeemer of the world, and didst deign to be appeased by the shedding of His Blood; grant, we beseech Thee, that by our solemn service we may so honor what He paid as the price our Redemption, and by Its virtue be so defended here on earth from the evils of this present life, that we may forevermore enjoy Its fruit in Heaven. Throught the same Jesus Christ, Thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end. Amen.

"Reprove not an arrogant man, lest he hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you."
