Heavenly gift of the ultimate weapons on earth!
It was the thirteenth century which God chose to dispatch His very Own Blessed Mother to bequeath to His children two very special gifts - gifts that would ultimately be the most powerful weapons man would ever know: not nuclear, not atomic, but rather the potent power of the Holy Rosary and the protection of the Scapular. In this second installment of our special retro week II for the summer we bring you the chapter The Rosary and Scapular - timely vital signs for all times! as part of our marathon summer week in providing the early chapters of this on-going megaseries that the reader might have missed. For the second installment, click on THE AGE OF MARIAN APPARITIONS.
Above we have been given the means; in her messages we have the finite method to activate the spiritual artillery for infinite ends
In everything the Almighty does there is a special purpose and God has it all so organized that no finite mind can comprehend the vastness and rewards, but only if we comply with His Will through prayer. That is the essence of the Blessed Mother Mary's words in her 163rd and 164th messages to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart, which we bring you today. Our Lady urges her children to use the tools we have been given to "Pray! Pray! Pray!" Only by praying can we activate the weapon of the Rosary to make it effective. Click on "I SOLEMNLY TELL YOU..."

Tremendous Breakthrough could see an end to East-West millennium-long schism!
Despite the disappointment of not making progress with the Russian Orthodox Church, word out of the Vatican yesterday boosted hopes for a reuniting with the Greek Orthodox Church after nearly a millennium of being separated. Representatives of the Eastern Patriarch Bartholomew I were guests of the Holy See for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul and expressed the Patriarch's desire to accelerate ecumenism which the Holy Father also strongly advocates, so that a possible accord could be reached by Jubilee 2000. First step to reunification of East-West to begin in Maryland
The optimism expressed in the first story could be extended through the efforts of Baltimore's Cardinal William Keeler who had extended an invitation to Patriarch Bartholomew I to seriously sit down and talk nine years ago and followed it up during the Eastern leader's visit to Baltimore last fall. Now those fruits are manifesting themselves with the announcement that next year at this time Eastern Orthodox representatives will meet with delegates from Rome at Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. It would be the first such talks ever held in the western hemisphere. For more, click on Orthodox talks in U.S..
Judges kowtow to the culture of death in curtailing culture of life proponents
In the great war of casualties, the pro-aborts took a few prisoners this week with judgments handed down in Florida and Virginia. In Chicago pro-aborts ganged up to intimidate a judge to rule in favor of tougher restrictions against pro-life demonstrators, severely limiting their participation for the cause of the unborn. In both Florida and Virginia, judges struck down bans on partial-birth abortions much to the chagrin of pro-lifers. It follows where legislators are overwhelmingly passing pro-life measures only to see them overturned by judges. For more, click on pro-life wars.
Church to act as mediator between Columbia government and rebel leaders
In a move more reminiscient of the days of the Holy Roman Empire, the Church will assign a group of Columbian bishops to sit as one of the chief mediators between the two factions in Columbia that have been at odds - the government just elected and Columbian rebel leaders. Keeping in the vein of the old days of the Papal States and Germany, the talks will be held in Mainz, Germany where the first archbishopric was established well before the Holy Roman Empire was founded by Charlemagne - well before Germany was settled, and centuries before Columbia was discovered.
