FEAST OF THE ARCHANGELS SAINTS MICHAEL, GABRIEL AND RAPHAEL

Thursday, September 30, 1999

SAINT JEROME, PRIEST AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH

PRAYER & DEVOTIONS

For the Feast of Archangels we honor Saint Michael with the prayer composed by Pope Leo XIII:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou o Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the Power of God, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

We honor Saint Gabriel with this prayer from My Daily Prayer:

O God, Who, from among other Angels, didst chose the Archangel Gabriel to announce the mystery of Thine Incarnation, mercifully grant that we, who celebrate his earthly feast, may experience his Heavenly protection.

We honor Saint Raphael with this prayer from My Daily Prayer:

O God, Who didst give the Blessed Archangel Raphael to Thy servant Tobias, to be a companion on his way, grant that we, Thy servants, may ever be sheltered by his guardianship and strengthened by his aid.

Appreciating the Sacred Offices

We continue our new daily series in uncovering the great treasuries of the Church contained in her Deposit of Faith. Today, continuing with the Roman Curia, we cover the three day-to-day temporal Offices that compose the Sacred Offices at the Vatican: Apostolic Chamber, headed by the Vatican Chamberlain or Camerlengo, the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See, and Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See. September 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

Dear children! Today again I call you to become carriers of my peace. In a special way, now when it is being said that God is far away, He has truly never been nearer to you. I call you to renew prayer in your families by reading the Sacred Scripture and to experience joy in meeting with God Who infinitely loves His creatures. Thank you for having responded to my call.
