Hold fast to the truths set down for all generations

There have been some who have challenged that Pope Saint Pius V said the Latin Mass, as determined by the Council of Trent, would be said "in perpetuity." Today, with all the abuses from ICEL to the local parish level, we present an encyclical that still carries weight and merit and should give us serious food for thought in considering if we are traveling the right path by embracing whatever liturgies come down the pike. We bring you this, courtesy of Catholic Dispatch, in place of Pat Ludwa's View from the Pew which was delayed. For the short, but powerful papal encyclical on the perpetuity of the Mass, entitled Quo Primum , click on ECCLESIAL ECHOES

Sound the Battle Cry: PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!

We resume our installments today of our on-going feature series on the Church today on the occasion of the National Day of Prayer and the topic leading up to Pentecost is Spiritual Warfare for, as members of the Communion of Saints we are the Church Militant and must take our responsibilities seriously if we hope to fulfill God's Will. The Forty-Fifth Clarion:

part one

"If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For he who would save his life will lose it; but he who loses his life for My sake will find it. For what does it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, but suffer the loss of his own soul?"

Matthew 16: 24-26

Today the Church honors Saint John before the Latin Gate - better known as Saint John Lateran to whom the second greatest basilica in Rome is dedicated. We present a special prayer for his intercession from My Daily Prayer published by the Confraternity of the Precious Blood:

O God, Who sees that evils disturb us on every side, grant, we beseech Thee, that the glorious intercession of Blessed John, Thine Apostle and Evangelist, may ever protect us. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who lives and reigns with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end. Amen.

The First Cenacle is formed to forge new frontiers for the faith

In the first part of Chapter 14, The First Cenacle we see, through interior vision, that the Apostles and disciples are now alone, save for the Holy Spirit and each other as they forge new frontiers for the faith, forming the first cenacle to make contingency plans on where they would go from here. Where they would go is to all regions as Jesus had commanded them, to go to all nations and preach the gospel. This they would do but first they needed to organized, reenergized by the infusion of the Sanctifier. These meditative lessons on the Glorious Mysteries were imparted by Our Lady to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart after Pentecost 1993. They are meant to inspire and prompt a greater understanding of the Glorious Mysteries. For part one of Chapter 14, click on "MY LORD AND MY GOD!"

Meditative Lesson 14:

part one

Dear Father, may all praise be ever given to the Most Blessed Trinity. In this lesson today I am instructed that Jesus wants all of His children to learn what is truly meant to be one with the Mystical Body, what it means to live as one whose life is centered on Christ. Our Lord sadly tells me that today there are so few who know how to live in and possess His Peace and even fewer who strive for unity of mind and heart through the grace of the Holy Spirit. How we must pray. May our lives be an eternal "fiat"; may Mary, our Mother guide us! Having tested the voice, I write:
"All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and with His brethren."
Acts 1: 14

April 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

Dear children! Also today I call you to prayer. Little children, be joyful carriers of peace and love in this peaceless world. By fasting and prayer, witness that you are mine and that you live my messages. Pray and seek! I am praying and interceding for you before God that you convert; that your life and behavior always be Christian. Thank you for having responded to my call.

"Greater love than this no one has, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do the things I command you."
