Spiritual warfare calls for daily "devil checks" to checkmate satan!

We continue with our on-going feature series on the Church today, coinciding with the Solemnity of the Ascension with the topic of Spiritual Warfare for, as members of the Communion of Saints we are the Church Militant and must take our responsibilities seriously if we hope to fulfill God's Will. Forced to retire in infamy, former prelate and Austrian people need our prayers

SIMPLY SHEEN: If you love Me...

Each weekend we strive to bring you longer articles by the good Bishop. This week, in conjunction with last week's Gospel and all the focus on Padre Pio and Mother's Day last weekend, we bring you Bishop Sheen's take on obedience and Christ's words from last Sunday's Gospel in John 14: 15, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." "Be as My Peter and Paul, and serve Me, your God in steadfastness. "

Those words above come from Our Lord on the Feast of Saint Peter and Saint Paul on June 29, 1994. In the Message which Jesus imparted to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart and followed up on July 1 with Message #512, Jesus asks all of us to persevere for many within the fold have grown weary and lost the will to toe the mark. The path is not easy and so many have fallen by the wayside, causing His Blessed Mother to weep over the apathy that is mounting. Our Lord reminds all His children of His Mercy, but also of the Justice promising many chastisements will be mitigated through the reparation of His loyal ones and His Precious Blood which flows from the Font of Divine Mercy. For Messages 511 and 512, click on "I SOLEMNLY TELL YOU..."

The Solemnity of Christ's Ascension is also the assurance of our own ascension into Heaven after the Last Judgment. He entered into His Kingdom to prepare a place for us, for He promised to come again to take us to Himself." This is the essence of the Solemnity of the Ascension celebrated today and observed by many on Sunday, the Seventh Sunday of Easter while Friday we commemorate the Feast of the Apostle Saint Matthias.
