Enlightened in Ecuador

High in the cold and rainy Andes Mountains of Ecuador, the Blessed Mother reportedly appeared in the remote farming village of El Cajas to a former model named Patricia Talbot whom her countrymen affectionately referred to as "Paci". Here, like in her messages to Father Don Stefano Gobbi, Our Lady spoke of the pivotal next ten years and the fact "the third world war is near." A prolific writer and author of "Comment on the Creed," Cardinal Pierre Eyt, like the fine wines of his region, is the perfect embodiment for the Archdiocese of Bordeaux

Today we feature our thirty-eighth red hat in alphabetical order. He is the 65 year-old Cardinal Pierre Eyt of France who has been the Archbishop of Bordeaux for nearly ten years. Chosen as the Special Secretary of the Seventh General Assembly of the Bishops' Synod twelve years ago, he became France's junior member of the cardinalate when he received his red-hat from Pope John Paul II in the Consistory of November 26, 1994, click on COLLEGE OF CARDINALS COLLECTION

WEDNESDAY OF HOLY WEEK

What price is it worth to jeopardize Eternal Life?

HOLY THURSDAY, April 1, 1999

Why the HOLY EUCHARIST is the BLESSED Sacrament!

PRAYERS & DEVOTION

Below is the fifth increment of the Prayer for Spiritual Renewal during Lent from the Treasury of Novenas booklet:

Father, our source of life, we reach out with joy to grasp Your hand; let us walk more readily in Your ways. Gude us in Your gentle mercy, for left to ourselves we cannt do Your Will. Father of love, source of all blessings, help us to pass from our old life of sin to the new life of grace. Prepare us for the glory of Your Kingdom. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.

"Soon my words to you shall be completed. Then shall come the fulfillment of all I have spoken."

Those words from the Blessed Mother to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart were imparted in Message #457 on the Feast of Saint Scholastica in February, 1984, and, true to her words, less than a year and a half later Our Lady and her Divine Son Jesus delivered the final message on the Feast of Corpus Christi. In both her 457th and 458th Message Mary implores her children to return to her Son and be nourished in the Sacraments. For these two Messages, click on "I SOLEMNLY TELL YOU..."

THE DAILY WORD

"The Son of man indeed goes His way, as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It were better for that man if he had not been born."

Matthew 26: 24
