PRAYERS & DEVOTION

In honor of the Feast of Saint Bridget of Sweden we present the Opening Prayer for the Mass in her honor:

Lord our God, You revealed the secrets of Heaven to St. Bridget as she meditated on the suffering and death of Your Son. May Your people rejoice in the revelation of Your glory.

"Weep only because you seek Me, and let it be known to all the world that in these end times I weep."

Those words above come from Our Lord in Message #600 on March 18, 1995 to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart in which Jesus seeks those who reject Him and reiterates the need to shun the world and overcome temporal sorrows for only by submitting to His Divine Will and taking up our cross enthusiastically will we overcome the world, the flesh and the devil. If we tarry on this, our temporal sorrows will only intensify and capsize us in the fast-flowing "River of Sorrow" as Our Lord reminds us in His previous message four days earlier. SIMPLY SHEEN: Exemplify the virtues of your neighbor to enrich yourself in graces

They say a picture is worth 1000 words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"In relation to neighbor, we look for the best that is in him, and for the worst that is in ourselves. This enables us to purge ourselves of our faults and to imitate the good qualities of our neighbor."
