World Day of Prayer for the Sick

"Catholic" means adhering to all the Church teaches - no exceptions!

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith and the Holy Father's "enforcer" of the teachings, is in San Francisco today presiding over the Doctrinal Commission conference there. Chief on the docket is assuring that Catholic theologians adhere to all the Church demands. In his column today, Pat Ludwa dissects the clever cloak of deceit dissidents and liberals continue to cast over the gullible ones, the floundering sheep who haven't got a clue as to the fallacy of these wolves in sheeps clothing. Pat exposes them for what they are in his article, What a concept!! For more, click on VIEW FROM THE PEW

Are we ready for the Age of Love? That is what Our Lord and His Blessed Mother have been preparing us all for.

Today we complete our segment on the Theological virtues, wrapping up the third part of our series on Charity, the third of the virtues and what Love means and the virtue honored in this Year of God the Father. It was for love of us that Christ died and rose again, and it is for love of us that He will come again. It is for love that He has sent His special messenger of love to His children - His Own Blessed Mother, specifically in these times when love is so misunderstood. The Forty-Second Clarion:

part three

"Greater love than this no one has, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do the things I command you."

John 15: 13-14

Our Lady has a special gift for us from her Divine Son

That gift is grace which the Blessed Mother, through permission of her Divine Son Jesus, wishes to bestow to all who are faithful to Him. This is the essence of Message #390 on the Solemnity of Mary's Assumption in which she implores all to let love blossom in our hearts. Our Lady prefaces this in her Message #389 the day before as well to the Hidden Flower of the Immaculate Heart in which Mary warns of the spiritual darkness and satan's temporal powers that can only be defeated by surrendering our will to God's Will. For these two messages, click on "I SOLEMNLY TELL YOU..."

Investing in the Communion of Saints

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

" The Christian way is to use money that those who are helped may be our intercessors in Heaven."

Events that happened this day in Church History

On this date in 731, Pope Saint Gregory II passed away. He was the 89th successor of Peter and his claim to fame was fending off the iconoclasts from penetrating Italy, thus preserving both sacred images and the faith in the land of Lombardy. His stance gave encouragement to the Church and the faithful in defeating iconoclasm once and for all. Historical Events in Church Annals for February 11:

"Because thou has seen Me, thou hast believed. Blessed are they who have not seen, and yet have believed."
