Note: As you will see in the editorial below, we are suspending publication of The Daily Catholic for an indefinite time so we can pay full attention to caring and praying for Cyndi Cain who is currently in ICU. Please keep her in your prayers and thank you for your loving understanding and whatever help you can provide. May God bless you abundantly.
Catholic PewPOINT |
We wanted to let all readers of The Daily Catholic know the serious condition of the editor's loving wife Cyndi and mother of two sons, who is in the Intensive Care Unit of Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, Missouri and presently on life support. Her lungs are failing her as she deals with a severe case of bi-lateral pneumonia that has left her in dire straits fighting for her life. Spiritually she is at total peace, but she must still face her physical Calvary and it is most difficult, not only for her but for members of her family. We humbly call on all her friends to respond to our heartfelt plea of help to "Cyndi's Angels," who, over the years, have been many. She has always been there for others, now urgently, the editor is begging and
Calling "Cyndi's Angels" to rally for her!

The Germs of G.I.R.M.
Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey has completed his excellent, thorough critique of the latest release of General Instruction of the Roman Missal by modern Rome. We encourage you to read the entire 77 installments of his comments which reinforce what the Church has always taught pertaining to the propitiatory nature of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. What has been promulgated over the past 40 years is truly G.I.R.M. warfare on the sacred and Holy of holies as Tom clearly points out in his eye-opening magnificent completed work The Germs of G.I.R.M.
Doctors of the Church
The twenty-ninth Doctor in this chronological series on the Doctors of the Church was born in Spain and throughout his life had obstacle after obstacle placed in his path. Despite the roadblocks, from the earliest possible drowning accident he was protected - under the mantle of the Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph. He longed for perfection, desiring to please only Our Lord, so much so that he accepted pain and suffering willfully, even to being demeaned and ridiculed, called an apostate and worse. Through all of this he still kept the Faith when all about him wanted to take it away. He was encouraged by a saintly pupil whom he aided greatly in reform of the Carmelites. God confirmed to all his persecutors that this holy priest was right and deserved the aura of sanctity at his death which this saint had foretold the exact year, month, day and hour. He wrote a book that boosts the confidence of so many who have those times of doubt about their Faith. He showed where faith is not about feelings, but about perseverance during those dark nights of the soul. He was the dauntless Saint John of the Cross.
Quid Dicit Scriptura
One of the areas The Daily Catholic has not been able to furnish until now is a solid Catholic Apologetic based on the Holy Scriptures. With the addition of Jacob Michael we can now provide the reader a a steady diet of Catholic Apologia in order to counteract Protestant friends who are great at quoting Sacred Scripture and even better at taking it out of context and interpreting according to how they view it, not on what the Church has always directed in discerning that which the Holy Ghost has inspired as Divine Revelation. The whole question comes down to "What saith the Scriptures?" and that is the title of Jacob's column - in Latin, of course: "Quid Dicit Scriptura?", with passages taken from the Latin Vulgate Douay Rheims Roman Catholic version. He continues with this issue his multi-part installment on "The Gospel is the Kingdom" with part two David's Kingdom Falling Down, Falling Down, Falling Down...
Catholicism and the State
Another series we would like to bring to your attention in these times when God and the Ten Commandments are so under assault is a shorter eight-installment series by Dr. Droleskey on the causes and effects of the inherent problems existent today in the Church and the State. To combat the folly of religious liberty and the whole charade of separation of Church vs. State, Tom proves that the only concluding solution is the uncompromising Proclamation of the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ as exercised authoritatively by the Roman Catholic Church and the immediate and necessary Consecration of Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart as Our Lady requested at Fatima. Tom lays it out in his Catholicism and the State
White Smoke, Black Fire!
In the sixth episode of Chapter Eleven of The Shrouding, Stephen wends his way toward where Sister Bridie is being held captive, while in the Sala Regia Cardinal Zachmunn continues to recruit Cardinals on the fence to realize the wisdom of voting down the fabricated preconized 40 bishops. Meanwhile Niki and Ogidi scope out the Legion's warehouse where a shipment is being prepared for the Vatican at midnight. Across the pond, Vic confides in his good friend Ben O'Fallon his findings and what he must do in order to try to stave off the Basilisk as we see in Part IV, Chapter Eleven, Episode Six.
PROPER OF THE MASS
Following is the Proper of the Mass for the Double of the Second Class Feast of the Apostle and Evangelist St. Matthew, which supersedes the 15th Sunday After Pentecost. We also present Father Louis Campbell's sermons for both this and next Sunday along with the Feast and liturgical color of the day for the week of September 21 through the 28th.
SUNDAY, September 21
For the Readings for the Double of the Second Class Feast of the Apostle Saint Matthew see Proper of the Feast of St. Matthew
In Father Louis Campbell's sermon for the Feast of St. Matthew, he focuses on the folly of those who cannot see that the Holy Scriptures were divinely inspired and that it is not fiction, but fact. The Holy Ghost inspired it, the Church has declared it Divine Revelation. That's good enough. This feast takes precedence this year over the 15th Sunday After Pentecost, and Father points out that what Matthew wrote takes precedence over the modern gibberish that the life of Christ, His Passion, Death and Resurrection are really "historical inaccuracies" written by a few men who had an agenda to perpetuate the Christian concept. Sadly, instead of all Christians rallying to expose this lie, many fall for the charade. Only a few, mainly Traditional Catholics, are willing to be the ring bearers of Truth and shout from the rooftops that Matthew was right on. But few there are today who, like Matthew, would be willing to follow a Carpenter from Nazareth instead of the political correct sirens today because the message Matthew scribed would not be in lockstep with the insidious tolerance and acceptance of evil - of sin as he points out in his sermon Following a Carpenter from Nazareth.
MONDAY, September 22:
SUNDAY, September 28
In Fr.Campbell's sermon for the 16th Sunday After Pentecost, he focuses on what the Church used to refer to this last Sunday in September as "Vacant Sunday." He illustrates how in so many churches today it is a "vacant Sunday" every Sunday because of the mind-warping done on those responsible for the flocks. Because they haven't been wise or prudent shepherds, because they listen to the world rather than hearing words of Our Lord in today's Gospel, they have exalted themselves and, thus, have wandered far from Christ's True Church as he points out in "Vacant Sunday". Traditional Double Feast of St. Thomas of Villanova, Bishop and Confessor who died in 1555, and Sts. Maurice & Companions who were martyred in 286 A.D.
TUESDAY, September 23:
Traditional Semi-Double Feast of Pope Saint Linus, martyred in 79 A.D., and Saint Thecla, Virgin who was martyred in 117. She is one of the Patrons invoked for the dying. Though we do not recognize the three year cycle which veers so from the one year cycle perpetually held by Holy Mother Church, today is a day to honor blessed Padre Pio who refused to ever say the Novus Ordo man-made rite and ask for his intercession in enlightening those who oppose Traditionalism so to realize the finality of his words to those who don't believe sin is as serious as before and there is no hell: "They'll know it when they get there!"
WEDNESDAY, September 24:
Traditional Double Major Feast of OUR LADY OF RANSOM first established by Pope Gregory IX as Our Lady of Mercy and then to the universal Church by Pope Innocent XII under her current title from an apparition in 1218 to Saint Peter Nolasco who vowed to start an order to redeem Christians imprisoned by the infidel Moors. Our Lady also appeared at the same time to Peter's confessor Saint Raymund of Pennafort and James I, king of Aragon in Spain.
THURSDAY, September 25:
Ferial Day, which means the Mass of the previous Sunday.
FRIDAY, September 26:
Traditional Double of the Second Class Commemoration of the North American Jesuit Martyrs Saint Isaac Jogues and Saint John de Brebeuf, Rene Goupil, John Lalande and companions. Also the Traditional feast of Sts. Cyprian and Justina who were martyred in the third century.
SATURDAY, September 27:
Traditional Semi-Double Commemoration of Sts. Cosmas & Damian who were both martyred in 304.
We cannot recommend highly enough the daily comments of Father Moderator who provides one of the best no-nonsense sites for Traditional Catholics at Traditio.com. Here Father Moderator separates the wheat from the chaff with no-holds barred candidness in keeping the faithful abreast daily with feedback and comments of all that is happening in the Church today. Besides the best available list of Latin Masses throughout the country, Father tells it like it is, never pulling punches in punching holes in all the charade that is the Vatican II church as you'll see in Traditio.com
What you might have missed last week:
Pro Life Prescriptions
Dr. Frank Joseph's column this week addresses the scandal that alongside California Senator Dianne Feinstein, stand men who should know better - men who were raised Catholic, but have abandoned their principles, their very Faith for the spoils of temporal gain, forgetting in the process that it matters not to gain the whole world if one loses their eternal soul. These men are Gray Davis, Cruz Bustamonte, Arnold Schwarzenneger, and Cardinal Roger Mahony. Useful fools and felons we should both fear and forget
On the BattleLine
Atila Sinke Guimar„es returns with documentation on the weak-clawed head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith . Because of this evidence, we at The Daily Catholic ask: Where is modern Rome in exacting compliance to the censoring of Gramick and Nugent for promoting the sodomy mentality? Sadly missing in action. Despite growing acceptance of all things sinful, the Vatican must stand firmly against those things which directly contradict Faith and Morals, and yet, just as they turned the other way in respect to the notorious Hans KŁng, so also the conservatives' favorite poster boy Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger doesn't even lift a paw or pause to think of the scandal from such lack of follow-through and failure to enforce and uphold the Faith. Atila offers a bird's eye perspective in assessing the lack of upholding the Faith by the "king of the beasts" within the CDF in his column Cardinal Ratzinger: A Toothless Lion
Mario Derksen reflects on the "coincidences" of a "transitional Pope" which, no one can deny, John XXIII was. Mario contends in his theory that it was all prearranged in order to implement the very agenda that has rendered the Church so impotent in grace today, all begun by setting Angelo Roncalli up as a "transitional Pope" - the "Good Pope" in the eyes of the world. That alone should have warned us of what was ahead after the "transitional pontificate" ended, as Mario explains in his column A "Transitional" Pope?
