The once royal crown of Czarist Russia will slowly but surely give way to the new crown of the Immaculate Heart of Mary through prayers and perseverance

During this "month of Mary" and the focus on Fatima with the beatifications this past weekend of the Fatima Shepherd Children Jacinta and Francisco Marto by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, and with the debut of the DailyCATHOLIC now being published daily in Russian to reach all parts of the former Iron Curtain, we present a special series written by Father Robert J. Fox, director of the Fatima Family Apostolate and editor of the full color Immaculate Heart Messenger. We are delighted to work with Father Robert Fox in bringing you this special series on Our Lady's plans for the conversion of Russia. St. Simon Stock receiving the Brown Scapular On this date 735 years ago in 1265 Saint Simon Stock passed on to his Heavenly reward in Bordeaux, France. He had been traveling to various monasteries throughout Europe in his duties as Superior General of the Order of Carmelites. This holy Carmelite priest from Kent, England was the one chosen by the Blessed Virgin Mary to give the world the Brown Scapular for eternal protection for all who wore her special shoulder garb and those promises still exist today for all to emulate and wear the beatiful shield of the Brown Scapular. Pride and conceit make us no better than Pontius Pilate They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Some seek professional advice regarding their confused mental state, and are told that they are suffering from an 'inferiority complex.' The truth of the matter is, nobody who is self-willed has an inferiority complex; he has a superiority complex. He is so full of conceit, pride and aggressive assertiveness that his hurt feelings may for the moment appear as inferiority. But he would not feel hurt if he did not have a diabolic pride, or superiority which would treat anyone who does not flatter him as Pontius Pilate treated Christ. Pilate washed his hands of Christ and had Him executed."
