"Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and house will fall upon house. If then, satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? Because you say that I cast out devils by Beelzebub. Now, if I cast out devils by Beelzebub, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you."
Luke 11: 17-20

The Gospa's message for March
March 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message
NOTE: We respectfully recognize and accept the final authority regarding apparitions, locutions and prophecies presently being reported around the world rests with the Holy See of Rome and the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church to whose judjment we humbly and obediently submit.

"Dear children! Pray and make good use of this time, because this is a time of grace. I am with you and I intercede for each one of you before God, for your heart to open to God and to God's love. Little children, pray without ceasing, until prayer becomes a joy for you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Recognizing today's Brood of Vipers!

The dissidents are trying to squeeze the hierarchy of the Church by rattling the ramparts of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church

In his column today, Pat Ludwa exposes the true Scribes and Pharisees today who point their accusatory finger at the Magisterium and the Vicar of Christ in condemning the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church because they refuse to kowtow to their demands which are diametrically opposed to Church doctrine. Like the Scribes and Pharisees of Our Lord's time, groups like A Call to Action, We are church, WomenChurch, 'catholics' for a Free Choice, and the rest of today's "brood of vipers" coil in readiness to strike with venomous vituperation, sinking their farcical fangs of falliciousness into the bloodstream of the Mystical Body of Christ. Pat shows, through the Word, that there is no difference from those Scribes and Pharisees who hoodwinked the masses and masterminded Christ's death to the modern Scribes and Pharisees who follow the same slithering path. John Paul II's prayer in recalling his "Jubilee Journey" last week: "Make me an instrument of Your Peace."
Today we bring you the Holy Father's regular public Papal Audience from this past Wednesday afternoon, his first since his return from his historic "Jubilee Journey" last week. Addressing the crowd in St. Peter's Square, he enthusiastically recounted his past week in the Holy Land as the highlight of his twenty-one and a half year pontificate. In his short discourse, His Holiness expressed gratitude to God and shared with all his constant prayer to the Almighty to be with him and, in the words of Saint Francis "make me an instrument of Your Peace." Those in attendance heard first hand the depth of meaning that each step held for the Holy Father and for all of us who walked in spirit with him in the footsteps of Christ Himself. When the world gives you lemons, God will refresh the faithful with the lemonade of love
We continue today, thanks to ZENIT News Organization, the spiritual exercises that Retreat Master Archbishop Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan preached to the Holy Father and Curia the week just before the Pope's "Jubilee Journey" to the Holy Land. Because of the wonders of the internet, all readers can now share in the inspiration that touched the Vicar of Christ and give all readers the opportunity to make a Lenten On-Line Retreat, so to speak, by contemplating on what the Archbishop presents, then going in silent prayer and meditation as John Paul II and his staff did to gain a greater peace and spirituality. The ideal way is to be able to go before the Blessed Sacrament and attend Daily Mass, but if this is not possible, then quiet time with Our Lord in meditation and prayer is the best scenario. For today's Second Spiritual Exercise, God is our only certainty , click on LENTEN ON-LINE RETREAT

Appreciation of the God-Man
Today we continue with our new series in the search to uncover the wonderful treasures of the Church contained in the great Deposit of Faith. Today we present, appropriately in following up the Holy Father's "Jubilee Journey" last week, the second part of the catechesis on Christ the God-Man as explained in My Catholic Faith for it was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies that God would become Man in order to redeem all mankind from the limbo man was placed after the sin of Adam. For the 142nd installment, see APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH

Events that happened today in Church History
Pope Celestine III    On this day 809 years ago in 1191 the 175th successor of Peter was chosen. He was Pope Celestine III, the oldest Pope to ever be elected for he was 85 when chosen. Though many expected him to live only a few years, he surprised everyone and lived until he was 92. During his seven-year pontificate he was successful in assuring pilgrims in the Holy Land would have the protection of the Order of Teutonic Knights as a result of the Third Crusade during Celestine's papacy. For other time capsule events that happened in Church history on this date, see MILLENNIUM MILESTONES AND MEMORIES

The problem with today's society: the sheep have lost their way!!
Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen    They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Having lost his inward unity, man is more and more compelled to seek the unity outside himself in the unity of organization. Disclaiming all responsibility, he surrenders it more and more to the State. The sheep that will not obey the shepherd must be received by a dog barking at their heels. The citizen who will not obey the moral laws of God, must be organized by a dictator snapping at their souls."

Jubilee for Priests set to coincide with Holy Father's 80th Birthday in Rome
The Prefect for the Sacred Congregation for the Clergy Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos stated that the Jubilee of Priests will begin on May 14th and end with special ceremonies at the Vatican on May 18th, the day of the 80th birthday of John Paul II. The actual preparation for this celebration began four years ago, and on May 18th the gathered priests will gather at the front of St. Peter's and cross through the Holy Door. continued inside
Will the third time be the charm for finally banning partial birth abortion?
While many pro-abort groups are hopefully gasping their last breath, pro-life groups are praying that on April 4, the United States House of Representatives will, on their third attempt, try to pass a law that will be veto-proof a law that bans partial-birth abortions. Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey from Texas hopes this time that if it doesn't garner the necessary majority to override the veto that Bill Clinton will search his heart and not veto this merciful measure, as he has done twice before. continued inside.

Filipino Muslims make demands of the Vatican over hostage situation
Philippines    Muslim rebels in the Philippines, who are holding a number of Catholic School children hostage, have demanded that the Vatican act as mediator in this horrendous affair. While Claretian Father Carlos Rivas has stated that the Vatican cannot engage in talks directly, it is more than willing to act for the good of the people. The situation is tense, and the Holy Father addressed this issue after his general audience Wednesday in Rome. continued inside.

More clashes could be looming in Indonesia over Muslim being taught in Catholic Schools as Bishops put brakes to such a project
Government pressure in Jakarta, Indonesia to have the Islam religion taught in Catholic schools received a vehement veto yesterday from the Catholic Bishops of the region. It is surprising that government officials are pushing such a curriculum and hounding Catholic schools into such a defensive position considering the amiable meeting President Wahid had with the Holy Father a few months ago. Yet the government is threatening to remove any and all government-funded teachers from the Catholic Schools if they don't comply. Maybe that's a blessing in disguise. After all it's not the first time the Catholic Faith has been violated and persecuted. But what is doubly frustrating is that the Church built these schools and the Muslims are trying to take over. continued inside.

How close are we to prayer in schools and at football games? It's in Supreme Courts' court!
Texas    The United States Supreme Court today heard testimony in the case of the Santa Fe Independent School District in Texas where a school district allows prayers to be said before gridiron games on Friday nights. After all, high school football is a religion unto itself in the lone star state. The school district's defense is "neutral" regarding what words are said and by whom, thus not violating the First Amendment of the Constitution. continued inside.

It won't be a Boston Tea Party, but a bigger one dubbed "Pilgrimage 2000" in April for Catholic youths in Boston's Archdiocese
Cardinal Bernard Law    Pilgrimage 2000, a spiritual gathering of teenage, college and young adults will culminate in Boston on April 29. Cardinal Bernard Law, Archbishop of Boston, has called this a "remarkable spiritual effort for all." Participants will have an all-day event, climaxing with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at Fenway Park. For a day the beloved Bosox will become a distant memory though the "green monster" in left will serve as a constant reminder that the Church's leaders of the future have a huge wall to scale in defending and spreading the Faith. continued inside.
