Events that happened during these two days in Church History

Cardinal John J. O'ConnorCardinal Francis George, OMI   A year ago on Tuesday Cardinal John J. O'Connor addressed health care workers at a special Mass in St. Patrick's Cathedral and vowed to "uphold the Catholic health care system." He cited the "concerted efforts to diminish, if not completely destroy, our Catholic health care systems, here and throughout the United States." But he pledged that "we will not abandon health care...We will not turn our backs on the needy...We will not forget the poor." He would die less than a year later but the cause continues with the standard now being carried by Cardinal Francis George, OMI of Chicago among other bishops who will carry out Cardinal O'Connor's promise despite the pro-aborts who are pressuring hospitals to include abortion as a requirement for federal funding. It is all part of the on-going battle for the Sanctity of Life in the face of the culture of death. For our Foreign editions, we still need translators!!!

We have had a few translators who have volunteered their help, but our goal is to secure at least two translators for each language in order not to put a burden on one person but spread the workload out. We still need volunteer translators for Italian, Portuguese, German and Spanish as well as more help for Russian and French. Once we have translators in place in order to polish the text to offer the DAILY CATHOLIC in these languages as it should be represented, we will launch, at first, a weekly edition in each of those languages which will be called the "Best of the DAILY CATHOLIC" for the past week. It will include the top news stories, features and timely columns along with the liturgy, devotions, and Church history timetable for the coming week.

If the Holy Spirit is prompting you, please please pray on it and then please e-mail the editor
