June 25th Medjugorje Monthly Message

NOTE: We respectfully recognize and accept the final authority regarding apparitions, locutions and prophecies presently being reported around the world rests with the Holy See of Rome and the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church to whose judjment we humbly and obediently submit. Following is Our Lady's brief message on the occasion of the 19th Anniversary of the Apparitions.

The Gospa's message for June "Dear children! Today I call you to prayer. The one who prays is not afraid of the future. Little children do not forget, I am with you and I love you all. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Feast of Saint Cyril of Alexandria, Bishop and Doctor of the Church

In this issue we commemorate the 12th Week of Ordinary Time on Monday and Tuesday as well as the Feast of Saint Cyril of Alexandria on June 27th. Monday is actually the last day this week devoted solely to Ordinary Time. The rest of the week is dedicated to saints leading up to the triduum of great Feasts this week: the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul on Thursday, the Feast of the SACRED HEART OF JESUS on Friday, followed by the Feast of the IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY on Saturday, which is also the First Saturday of July. For the readings, liturgies, meditations, and profile on St. Cyril of Alexandria, see DAILY LITURGY.

PRAYER IN HONOR OF SAINT CYRIL OF ALEXANDRIA
Taken from the Opening Prayer for the Mass honoring St. Cyril of Alexandria
Father, the bishop Cyril courageously taught that Mary was the Mother of God. May we who cherish this belief receive salvation through the incarnation of Christ Your Son.

The DAILY WORD

Taken from Tuesday's Gospel

"Enter by the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who enter that way. How narrow the gate and close the way that leads to life! And few there are who find it."
Matthew 7: 13-14

Famous quotes of Bishop Fulton J. SheenTo uphold integrity, one must be honest through and through

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the words of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen have been known to launch a thousand images in one's mind, one of the ways this late luminary did so much to evangelize the faith. Because of the urgency of the times and because few there are today who possess the wisdom, simplicity and insight than the late Archbishop who touched millions, we are bringing you daily gems from his writings. The good bishop makes it so simple that we have dubbed this daily series: "SIMPLY SHEEN".

"Crisis produces a hardened spiritual feeling which hinders understanding. Men do not like what they do not understand, or that which would demand a change in their lives. All the training of a university will not make certain persons mathematicians. If a person does not love truth and honesty, he cannot be made truthful and honest by expounding the definitions of these virtues. One must begin by creating within him conduct along the lines of these virtues; then he can be taught."
