    A glittering array of musicians and actors will collaborate on a unique CD project reciting prayers written by Pope John Paul II, according to the project's producer Rick Garson on Tuesday.

    Among the stars confirmed for the World Voice 2000 CD are Britney Spears, 'N Sync, Monica, 98 Degrees, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Brooke Shields, James Earl Jones, Vince Gill, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, LeAnn Rimes, and Dennis Franz along with the Pope himself. The compact disc will be released by Columbia Records in September.

    Garson said the idea was to produce a spiritual message of hope. "From the moment it was mentioned to me, I thought it was exciting," Garson said. "I said, 'It's not about Catholicism; it's spirituality.' For young people with school shootings and violence, it was a good way to get a message out there that there's light at the end of the tunnel. That's why it's called World Voice: We're all the same."
