MEXICAN BISHOPS ENCOURAGE NATIONWIDE PRAYER CAMPAIGN BEFORE
ELECTIONS
MEXICO CITY, 22 (NE)
Less than two weeks before the presidential
elections in Mexico, Bishops in this country called faithful to
participate in a nationwide campaign of prayer to be held June
30.
In a message sent by the Permanent Council of the Mexican
Bishops Conference, the Prelates expressed their confidence that
the civic event may take place with transparence and peace. "In
these grave moments of our life", the message reads, "we ask
Jesus Christ Our Lord to give us His light and His spirit and
help us to open our minds and discover His will. and that we may
also have the courage to put it into practice". "Any way the
constitutes a fraudulent form to obtain a vote is dishonest,
censurable and is grave moral fault against human dignity, and
may even be an offense to God", the Mexican Bishops warned.
