Events that happened during these two days in Church History

Saint Juliana Falconieri   Monday, June 19th is the 659th anniversary of the death of Saint Juliana Falconieri, considered the foundress of the Servite Nuns. She was born in Firenze, Italy to a wealthy Florentine family and during her youth, became a Servite Tertiary, taking care of her sick mother until her death. Afterwards, Juliana dedicated her talents in caring for the sick to all of Florence and gathered others to assist her in treating the most downtrodden, thus founding the Servite nuns. She was a victim soul most of her life, suffering without complaint and offering it all to God. She had a great reverence for the Blessed Sacrament and died in her convent in 1341 in her Servite Convent at the age of 71. 390 years after her death Pope Clement XII canonized her in 1731. Her feast was declared for June 19th but is not celebrated liturgically today, superseded by the Feast of Saint Romuald. For our Foreign editions, we still need translators!!!

We have had a few translators who have volunteered their help, but our goal is to secure at least two translators for each language in order not to put a burden on one person but spread the workload out. We still need volunteer translators for Italian, Portuguese, German and Spanish as well as more help for Russian and French. Once we have translators in place in order to polish the text to offer the DAILY CATHOLIC in these languages as it should be represented, we will launch, at first, a weekly edition in each of those languages which will be called the "Best of the DAILY CATHOLIC" for the past week. It will include the top news stories, features and timely columns along with the liturgy, devotions, and Church history timetable for the coming week.

If the Holy Spirit is prompting you, please please pray on it and then please e-mail the editor
