Armoring for the Day

      Lord, I gird my loins this day with TRUTH
          so that when the enemy speaks falsehood and deceit,
              I will stand firm and unwavering on
                 the solid rock foundation of Your Word.

      Lord, I put on the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS;
          standing for right and being salt
              and light to a world steeped in
                  darkness and sin.

      Lord, I now shod my feet with the GOSPEL OF PEACE;
          to take to the world, in season and out of season,
              Your message of salvation...that whosoever believes in You
                  shall not perish, but have eternal life.

      Lord, I take up the SHIELD OF FAITH;
          to protect me from the fiery darts of doubt and discouragement
              which satan uses to sway me from
                  trusting wholly in the truth of Your Word.

      Lord, I put on the HELMET OF SALVATION;
          believing You are the ONE TRUE GOD
              EMMANUEL - the Hope and Joy
                  of my salvation.

      Lord, I take up the SWORD OF SPIRIT;
          to strike down and expose the lies
              of the enemy putting him to flight
                  when I am tempted.

    I go out now, Lord, fully protected by the armor You have provided; to spread the message of Life and Salvation in a dark and dying world so in need of You. Use me this day to be that salt and light You have called me to be. Amen.
