Awash in the waters of Lourdes

On the way to the BathsBaths are just to the right of the GrottoPilgrims begin to line up for the Miracle BathsHealing water comes from spring below Grotto

The pinnacle of the pilgrimage was to finally reach the Holy Shrine of Lourdes high in the Pyranees. From 90 degree heat to 40 degree cold, Lourdes gave us chills that ran up the spine into our hearts

Symphony of SufferingCyndi Cain    In her second installment on the Jubilee Journey of Joy for Jesus Pilgrimage this past May, Cyndi Cain shares her thoughts and inspiration on finally arriving at one of the most holy and sacred shrines in the world where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a simple peasant girl Saint Bernadette Soubirous and confirmed that Our Lady was the Immaculate Conception, pronouncing to Bernadette, "Que Soy era Immaculada Councepcion", translated: "I am the Immaculate Conception." It was a fulfillment of what Our Lady had personally asked Cyndi to undertake this year with her family a decade ago. While the wonders of Lourdes were overwhelming, it took a while to acclimate from the searing heat of Italy to the cold and blustery winds of the Pyranees. Cyndi describes the physical senses of the family's walk by the majestic basilica through the portals to the Grotto and then the miraculous baths. She shares the details of shock in stepping into the freezing waters of Lourdes and the miraculous warmth of love that followed. For her column, entitled The Healing Begins see SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING

Appreciation of Love of Our Neighbor
Today we continue our series in the search to uncover the wonderful treasures of the Church contained in the great Deposit of Faith. We present the first of a two part catechesis on the Love of Neighbor as explained in My Catholic Faith and a reinforcement of what Jesus commanded us to do in Sacred Scripture, specifically in Matthew 19: 19; 22: 39; Mark 12: 31; Luke 10: 27; Romans 13: 9; Galatians 5: 13; Hebrews 8:11; and James 2: 8. For part one in the 185th installment, see APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH
